QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ May 5 2017, 11:36 AM) I have a question. I am trying to plot Fund Allocation into excel by country for AH Select Bond fund. From the factsheet i only see the currency exposure portion is sorted by country. Is the "before hedging" % the correct value to use? Separately what does it mean for the "After hedging"? I'd go for before hedging because that reflects the original currency the bonds are denominated in which in a way reflect the country allocation. The fund use hedging instruments to reduce the volatility of the fund, that's how they achieve such a low volatility despite being an asian bond fund

But I cant really put it in US country column because obviously the fund only invest in Asia Pac What is your opinion on this?

QUOTE(ganaesan @ May 5 2017, 05:55 PM) Noted bro. Me too considering to get myself one. Jus wonder what makes you to go for MCIS instead of HLA from the discussion I had with FSM representative. I was cheated from my previous Prudential agent. (signed a investment linked plan rather than a medical plan) so I arrayed what I wanted from my next policy which is purely medical coverage. no riders. no investment linked plans. just medical. so for the 3k I got a very good coverage of 1.5 million with the best rooms in any hospital as opposed to my previous plan which I was paying nearly 4200 for 150k coverage. also best of all i get 30% agent fees back from MCIS which is nearly 6k if I'm not mistaken.

QUOTE(Nemozai @ May 5 2017, 06:22 PM) I don't understand what u mean by getting 30% agent fees back from MCIS. Do you mind explaining to me? Agents get a commission for any policy they sell. In this case FSM gets the commission. For FSM, they will give 30% of this commission back to the client. You can ask for the exact amount of rebate you'll be getting when u get the actual quotation from them, as the amount differs depending on the policy you want.

https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...pril-2017--8279Although we do not foresee the Fed shrinking its balance sheet anytime soon, we are likely to see it happening gradually once the monetary policy targets have been met and short-term interest rates are comfortably off the lower bound of the Fed’s projected level. Hence, we see limited possibilities of an abrupt spike in yields for the US Treasuries, which may trigger a surge of funds outflow from the emerging markets and the Asia region (like the previous post-Trump bond rout), or any deteriorating effects to the equity markets within the mentioned regions. At this juncture, we remain upbeat on the economic prospects of the Asian and emerging markets, and continue to advocate value and growth seeking investors to shy away from the already-expensive US equity market. For investors that are heavily invested in the equity markets currently, they may seek to diversify their portfolio via local short-duration bond funds, which may provide shelter from a rising interest rate risk. I am staring to notice my manulife US shrinking. half my heart is wishing to switch all into manulife India.

It's expected since Manulife AP reits hold 50% of singapore reits. Now is the season for S-reits to declare dividend. After declare dividend, price of the share will drop (most of the time although there are exception to this rule ) The question you should be asking: (i) do I trust the fund manager of Manulife AP reit? (ii) do I trust s-reits? My answer is yes. But one thing no one told us is fund like manulife will be tax 15% tax by SG govt when compare to if you are an individual investor. YES, if it is just for fun and if the direction of the results does not mean much to the investor NO, bcos among many other things,....we just don't know how the mkts would moves after we bought into it....it is beyond one's control. if not sure, just buy when your scheduled monthly DCA time is due, and that your planned % of allocation still allows the extra money to be input

QUOTE(vseries @ May 6 2017, 09:34 AM) Has anyone received the 25th Apr's dividend distribution from RHB Asian Income Fund? Dividend distribution in unit trust is useless. Whether the fund gives dividend or not, the fund value remains the same. This post has been edited by Ramjade: May 6 2017, 10:12 AM

Yes but after dividend distribution, the fund price will be adjusted. Without those units from dividend reinvested, current nav does not reflect the actual nav. I hate distribution , it distort my NAV and Port value ... I have to manually calculate and keep track of it . I hate extra work , I want simple , I want all the mollah , not the work .
