QUOTE(dasecret @ Mar 22 2017, 09:35 AM) Btw, the FSM rep posted on Cari Chinese forum thread that ponzi 1.0 will have a soft close soon for cash investment. In the next few weeks. Apparently fund manager want to control the fund size So for those who wants to enter, please take note. how about those that funnel funds to it via epf automatically? will those be blocked as well?

QUOTE(Drian @ Mar 22 2017, 10:48 AM) Anyone getting? We discussed this last week. Main issue I have with this fund is the crazy volatility. It did increased by 2.4% in a day last week; but maybe today will fall by the same quantum seeing how asia markets are tumbling down Crystal ball does not approve this fund Speaking of which xuzen, does ponzi 1.0 still not in crystal ball's good books?

QUOTE(tonytyk @ Mar 22 2017, 11:33 AM) considering it has went up quite high, still has upside potential? Don't know, I don't have crystal ball I think it depends on the markets it's in. If you think ASEAN markets have potential then this fund is for you although the mandate is bigger than just ASEAN. At the moment the fund is heavy ASEAN and does better than other ASEAN funds

I think we need to vomit back whatever we gained on the 16th March Nav's. Hopefully the amount is matching up, and nothing more.

I tried reading on soft close and it's a bad thing when funds get too big? so what happens when it gets too big? sell the investments and give back to the investors? break the fund into two funds?

Think the fund size thingie is the fund manager's preference, maybe to do with his or her style or philosophy. If he or she has too much cash and yet think there isn't anything worth to invest, then keeping it remain as cash will drag it's performance. Ponzi 1 as of end feb is 309.3 mil. Ponzi 2 as of end Jan is 1720 mil. Ponzi 2 has never complained fund size too big.

Correction is under way. there is profit taking going all around the Bursa and just recently almost foreign investors have scopped up almost a billion of Malaysian stocks.
Looks like Trump power is fizzling out.

From what I know, they stop accepting cash. People who buy can sell. Then later when the manager feel that cash have been deployed, he/she can open back the fund.
