QUOTE(junclj @ Apr 3 2025, 11:09 AM) Anyone here using 9950X3D with msi mpg x870e carbon wifi. Can confirm to me is it so far so good? I was just received mine (online purchase) at last week but still not install to use it because my PC casing still otw shipping by sea from China. I just simply plug in a PSU to test it without insert ssd. It was successfully booted up into BIOS but showing 61~62 degree celsius idling. However, I just simply to put a few thermal paste (arctic mx6) to the center surface then put an old 140mm twin tower cpu cooler (cryorig r1 ultimate) on the CPU IHS surface without screw it up during testing. Is it normal 61~62 degree celsius idling temp for this CPU? I was just worried about the CPU may get fried, even though mine is not Asrock motherboard. yes, its normal. i booted it up to update chipset, bios and test the gpu via Deepcool AK620 dual tower with dual fan on open test bench. Ran MH Wild Demo and it hit 96C easily constant. coming from 5900X, its not surprising to me as its behave the same on air cooler before i move it to WC. i'm using mx-4 via flat method over the cpu & yes, its a hot chip that require AIO at the bare minimum.

QUOTE(iZuDeeN @ Apr 3 2025, 01:03 PM) I mean its not likely issue of the mobo ; likely the root cause is the CPU itself, with added poor quality? of the mobo itself.. the mobo maybe just the symptom Sure, could be the CPU itself that's the problem, but I don't think it's fair to say it's not likely an issue with the mobo and/or BIOS based on current data, seeing as several people with "failed" 9800X3Ds fixed their issue with BIOS rollbacks/updates.

Arctic mx-4.. damn.. but mine using polar therm X8 quite good on my decent processor with 240MM aio (tuned) well anyway i'm waiting 9800X3D stock availbility okay, time to pass 78X3D for gf or spare as well

Time to move up once your new CPU arrives. Good budget option TF 7/8/9, if you can splurge go for TG Duranaut(?). Not sure if can get Kingpin KPX here. QUOTE(llk @ Apr 27 2025, 07:02 PM) Bought another 9950X3D during Lazada 4.25 sales, surprisingly AllIT listed the 9950X3D without requiring a motherboard bundle. After applying voucher, the price was even slightly below MSRP. So now I’m upgrading my CPU from 8 cores to 16 cores What you plan to do with the spare 9800x3d?

Ya i'm aware about the issue with Asrock motherboard. I set the SOC voltage in bios fixed at 1.1V, so far so good, no abnormalities were observed .

QUOTE(llk @ Apr 28 2025, 10:03 AM) Sorry bro, plan to sell it at msrp. MSRP MSRP or scalper MSRP? Consider that its used (or was it you were simply 'open box to test so that it works'? )

How difficult would it be should I need to RMA it.
