For me this phone is great if you can get it for cheap... Like me i got my 2gb ver well below 500...with custom rom this phone really fly...just unlock the tham thing and let it fly... Easyly the best budget phone...my main sim card right now is with this phone... My s7e become my 2ndary camera phone lol..

Congratulations made into V8. Anyone feel that the auto brightness always too low even in bright area? Had to really tuned up the brightness.

Hmmm been using MIUI8 with MM6.0, so far haven't had any apps crash and my FP works better now, really cut down the sudden unable to read my fingerprint prob.. But battery life is down a bit, but still manageable to me.. touchwood lol

I followed this way to root my RN 3 which is officially unlocked but failed to flash SUPERSU and get it installed. Any other way? I managed to claim warranty without problem on my unit bought from mistore(era network unit under the sirim website). Wonder if the guy with warranty problem manage to solve his issue.
PS Anyone have problem with charger cable hard to fit into phone? If change the cable will have side effect? |

Umm, bit confused now with the fast charging stuff. It also depends on the snapdragon cpu? Cos I thought it is the special fast charging charger that is making the difference.

noob question:whats the different xiaomi Redmi note 3 pro vs xiaomi Redmi note 3? I saw the pro selling for rm549(imported since I don't see any local set) and rn3 Malaysia set selling for rm749? any difference? should I be safe with the imported set? does the Malaysia set comes with global rom? thanks

Hi to all sifu hear,
I'm new to Android system & need your guide how to solve my wife phone. Last month i bought a Redmi Note 3 16GB/SD/Global ROM version via Gemfive. It was an import set where bought it only RM 449.00 & this was a gift for my wife birthday. She using Redmi 2 b4, that why i buy this phone cos she only familiar with Mi system. 2 weeks after used with no problem & all the sudden the phone LOCKED itself & not recognize finger print that need pin code to unlock. i remember the pin but after enter still cannot unlock it. until now need 119 minutes then can try to enter pin & now i give up. search via google lead me to MIUI unlock & i applied & got permission after 3 days. install Mi flash unlock & follow all procedure but result Couldn't verify device/50% complete. Check again but only confuse with lots of example & still cannot unlock. Appreciate to sifu here guide me step by step how to unlock this phone. TQ |

Stuck on 50% unlock fix
*** copy paste from first page *** - just flash china dev rom. (not sure if global dev got same settings) - login same Mi ID - turn on developer options by tapping multiple times on miui version - additional settings - developer options - scroll until you see mi unlock status, tap it and add to authorize unlock status (or whatever the button)..then you'll see success or done status. - Now boot into fastboot, and your phone should be unlocked successfully now. |

For normal use also I recommend rooting it, if u know how... to get rid of all the ads. Didn't know there are so so so many ads these days. For years I have been using rooted/jailbreak phones and ad blockers. So not used to seeing so many things that I'm not interested. Some ads even try to disguise to look like my app.

I installed poweramp aps in my phone as my music player. When i try to delete a song via the aps, a message pop up; "error! No write access to the files. To enable access, please select sd card in the grant access dialog, and try again."
I try to locate this option, but i can't find it. Please help me. |

Is mi account id the same with uid on the login en.miui.com website?
On my phone, I open Mi Account app, look at the email add there, then login on website, and I see different id or uid number. When I try to login with that email and use the unlock code, it says "current account is different from account online".. which is why I am asking all these. I am stuck here. I do not have the folder and therefore I need to download mi flash. but where to get the mi flash?
seems like the link brings me to http://en.miui.com/a-234.html which i am confused. in Step 1, Download MIUI ROM Flashing Tool (Size: 31MB). If your device is locked. please click here to unlock it first. I continue to download miui rom flashing tool and install it, and then it will create the needed folder, right? I hv a case with era international, who runs mi store lazada... phone spoilt in a week.
Anyway, if you get Kate, like me, so darn difficult to find casing. No choice at all. Just input to consider. It depends on where you are... if it is easy for you to claim supplier warranty or factory warranty. |

If my memory serves me right, when I first got the phone out from the box, it was loaded with ver 7.1.19, but immediately it asked me to update to miui v8.1.1.0, which then i applie for unlocking and got stuck at 50% etc..

why you flash to global rom? You should be flashing it to china dev rom.

global dev rom....maybe can. china dev rom...SURE can. If your kate don't have china dev then I don't know. Any other kate users successfully unlock using global dev rom? |

Then after few day i tried to unlock on my friends window 7 pc. I just downloaded the mi unlock tool from mi unlock page. Signed in using phone no. Then Plugged my device in fastboot mode. Let the windows download driver. When drivers are install click Unlock button. Now i have unlocked Redmi Note 3. Note that you should have oem unlock & usb debugging on. And only one device i mi cloud. Also don't worry about the Mi Unlock Status in developer mode. That never worked for me. Always gave 'couldn't verify, try again' error. Still was able to unlock. And DO NOT flash using kenzo rom. It will brick the phone. |

Well, I did try to unlock it with a Win7 32bit system, but before I can begin, I have another problem... as per pic below. I have installed a few adb drivers but none of them work. Please help.

i unlock my kate within 3 days after send request. no issues until now. more than a month d. flash cm13 straight away.
if wanna revert back to MIUI, it'll lock bootloader, but i can unlock it with no issues. did u try official method? |

OK, managed to install Alka TWRP, so not too clear on what is next step. In samsung, just copy rom file into sd card and flash.. ini sama kah?

From what ive read redmi note 4 pro with 625 eventho its abit slower compare to our rn3p it perform consistently.... Our 650 chip most of the time will throttle down when it got hot...even with cyanogenmod i can still feel the phone become abit sluggish when i use the phone for prolong period of time...

Can someone suggest a good screen protector, one that won't collect fingerprints? My current one is a fingerprint magnet makes looking at the screen very tiring. |

I am using this app, smart screen on off, which allows me to double tap to off the screen and open my flip cover to wake the screen. However, it works well when I just switch on the phone. If left untouched for sometime, it will not work. I have to open the app, close it, then it will work fine again.
Maybe the app goes into deep sleep after a while? So how to make it always work, especially after not using the phone for a long while. Thanks. |

right now using on screen navigator button.... any of you guys send the unit for RMA before? do we need to restore the unit and lock back the bootloader ? |

as i posted before, those apps, does not work well on mine. they work, once i switch them on and for like a minute, everything is just nice. but once i leave the phone for a long period of time without touching it, the app stops working. i hv to press volume, power or use finger print scanner.
