QUOTE(n8210 @ Mar 7 2017, 09:31 AM) Just to confirm this, if we get the new 8.2 update, we can't use the previous SuperSU file to root, right? I think after root, the system will detect it, so when OTA comes, it will mostly download full sized rom instead of incremental. Updating via full sized rom most likely will lost root & custom recovery. Not sure about ZXC Twrp as the feature lists state that it can update official miui ota. Correct me if I'm wrong |

QUOTE(abubin @ Mar 7 2017, 12:21 PM) previously when phone is still in lollipop, I do get OTA update alert eventhough i am rooted. However, it failed to apply and the updater then ask for full rom update. So I unroot the phone and then run the full rom update to marshmallow. Now that it is in marshmallow, I have never got the OTA alert. I think it is probably something to do with the way it is rooted. Maybe not. Don't really care as long as the phone is working fine. I will wait for 8.2 to update and probably also wait until root is available and tested to be working. Root should be working with current latest global stable as long as you have a working TWRP. Try reinstall the ROM using fastboot method (clean_all) via Mi Flash might get your OTA working again. |

QUOTE(abubin @ Mar 7 2017, 02:35 PM) nah..don't want to reinstall all my stuffs. Too tedious. I am not those who are so pressed on upgrade to latest firmware. As long as phone have no problem, it is not so important to upgrade minor versions. Yup, latest update doesn't matter as long as the phone is stable enough for normal operation. But the first few release of Marshmallow Stable Rom has some memory management issues, e.g: using only Facebook and when try to jump back to laucher(home) there goes "Loading Apps..". The memory management issue very noticeable when using Stable & Developer Rom. Maybe only affects 2gb ram version. That's why I was laughing at those people who keep on shouting and scolding in xiaomi forum about the marshmallow upgrade. Then when they eventually release the upgrade next they complain is battery drain and firmware problem and so on. |

QUOTE(#Victor @ Mar 10 2017, 06:03 PM) Anyone know where can I get official international stable MIUI ROM for Mediatek variant of Rm Note 3? Seems cannot find except EU ROM which currently using. Redmi Note 3 MTK didn't sell to worldwide officially except China. So they didn't make any Global ROM for MTK version. MIUI EU rom is based on latest China Developer ROM and translate everything to english. Hope this helps! |

QUOTE(n8210 @ Apr 18 2017, 12:35 PM) Did I just jinx myself? Now I have issues! Today I cannot receive a call, or call out. And if I do managed to get connected, difficult to maintain a stable connection. Spend 5 minutes on call, get nothing thru. Go whatsapp, immediately whole communication done. I'm on celcom. This is telco issue right? Staying in Kch. Just want to rant... check again tonight or at another location. QUOTE(GameSky @ Apr 18 2017, 12:48 PM) I have this issue on Redmi Note 4 yesterday also using CELCOM telco, but my friend who is using CELCOM with iPhone SE doesn't have this issue. QUOTE(kahyeec @ May 7 2017, 10:29 PM) Remember , people used this method to flash the China Telco Rom to your phone ,sell to malaysia , and someone else sold to you. They succeeded , so theoretically it is very doable - if you live in Shenzen , China Just asking, is the latest update make the Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm unable to access into EDL mode? The unbrick method is the ultimate method, anything that is bricked can be brought to life and anything that is not bricked can have new ROM installed. The MTK sets are much easier to install new ROM , bootloader locked or not also can do. Even a guy as dumb as me also did it three times Look for visual instruction on youtube . Or just ask a friend who always go to Guang Zhou to take it there and flash it to China Official ROM. If not, I thought with some kind of files and command prompt can easily boot into EDL mode and use MiFlash to start flashing. P/S: I'm already unlocked bootloader through the official way, so I don't know the latest status of this phone liao. |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jul 19 2017, 07:25 PM) Anyone here on stock rom redmi note 3 pro able to revert back to google now on tap instead of google assistant? Settings > Additional settings > Language & Input > Language > Select "English (United Kingdom)" > Restart your phone. According to this guide, just need to change language settings but I can't add language in the language settings https://9to5google.com/2017/03/09/go-back-f...gle-now-on-tap/ For what I know, Google Assistant only works with "English (United States)", if set to United Kingdom it might disable Google Assistant. Hope this helps you. |
