If your unit is rooted, then high chance that ur phone have unlocked bootloader. If nothing works, u can try reflash your rom as a last resort.

Happened to mine, kenzo as well few months back. If left overnight still stuck at Android / MI loading screen, then flash thru fastboot. That's the only option I had since I did not root my phone.

Flash thru fastboot same as factory reset, all data erased?

The xiaomiflash software got option to save user data. But there are some steps to make it work. Got to go thru en.miui.com support forums to check.

Make sure you read till the end of the guide, the method to save user data is at the end of the guide.

Oh, read the guide on entering EDL mode too. Cause you will need to enter EDL mode first prior to flashing using xiaomiflash software. The link to that is conveniently posted in tge above guide. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. Brought my rn3 to a phone clinic for assessment, they said it is software problem and need to do factory reset for rm50 fees. The battery has bloated n will cost rm90.

the battery is 40 if u wanna diy ...hahaha ...at shopee...

but havent hd the time to replace .

I dont think I am up to it. Looks like I have to do a factory reset via recovery mode, by doing so I would bring my RN3 to the original state.
After that I have to do MiUI updates and apps reinstallation?

I just did the factory reset in Recovery mode(Mi Recovery 3.0), chose the [Wipe Data] option and completed successful.
Rebooted the phone, chose the language(English UK) then got msg "Unfortunely Google app has stopped"
Proceeded chose region(Malaysia) then msg "Unfortunely android has stopped" and view summary with full screen of analysis report, press cancel and proceed but now stuck at Setting Region.
Power off and repeated the above and still the same thing. Help.

Send to xiaomi service centre for assessment, but expert not around until next Tuesday, confirmed Malaysia set, n need to flash rom since factory reset didn't work. BTW if use your method do I need to use my Mi Account which I cant log in?

Use xiaomi flash software no need to log in to any mi account. It's like formatting a computer. Flash is like format and reinstall OS.

What do you mean hard reset halfway? I thought you have successfully factory reset. Just that the OS not working as intended with google app and android stopped working.
In any case, yes should be no problem. Like your windows installation failed or corrupted. You just format and reinstall the OS.

I have successfully wipe data in recovery mode but after reboot failed at Google app and Android is considered halfway done. Sorry for the wrong choice of words.

If you flash incompatible ROM, yes it is possible to hard brick your phone. Best is if you remember which version of MIUI ROM your phone was using, and use the same one.

Mine originally was kenzo_global_images_V8.1.1.0.MHOMIDI_20161202.0000.00_6.0_global
This had worked for me the first two times. But after I left my phone for awhile, I think the battery drained off the third time. Flashing this version still made me suffers from boot loop (stuck at MI / Android loading screen). So I looked for the latest ROM kenzo_global_images_V10.2.1.0.MHOMIXM_20190114.0000.00_6.0_global
This worked.

In the error report this is stated:
Build fingerprint:'Xiaomi/kenzo/kenzo:6.0.1/MMB29M/V9.5.6.0 MHOMIFA:user/release-keys' Revision:"0"

I searched MHOMIFA if your's is kenzo should be Redmi Note 3 SD ROM V9.5.3.0.MHOMIFA
Then I searched V9.5.6.0, that only result in the following version MIUI 9.5 Global Stable V9.5.6.0.MHRMIFD Redmi Note 3 SE. This is not Kenzo, this is SE edition.
I also searched MMB29M, that also returned result for Redmi Note 3 SE edition. But that is only of somebody complain of a problem with the update causing lost of 4G signal.

Please check the serial number at the back of your phone.
