Honda Malaysia recalls 2014 City and 2015 Jazz over CVT control software issue – 12,329 units affected
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Honda Malaysia has announced a recall for 12,232 units of its fourth-generation City (2014 model year) and 97 units of its third-generation Jazz (2015 model year) over an issue with improper hydraulic pressure control software involving the vehicles’ continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The company says that in a situation where there is a quick stepping on and releasing of the accelerator pedal at high speed, high hydraulic pressure will cause high stress to be generated to the drive pulley shaft and may cause the shaft to be broken, resulting in the vehicle experiencing a loss of power during driving.
The exercise seeks to rectify the powertrain control module (PCM) in affected cars through a CVT software update, which contains a stress reduction software. As of today, there have been no crashes or injuries related to this issue reported in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia says it is taking this preemptive measure to ensure customer safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to all affected customers. The company adds that aside from the specified total of vehicles, other fourth-gen City and third-generation Jazz are not affected, and neither are other current selling models
All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product update. Customers who receive the letter are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorised Honda dealer for inspection. Any charges related to the product update will be borne by Honda Malaysia.

Back in October, Honda Malaysia announced that it would be increasing the pricing of its products by 2% to 3% starting from January 2016, the hike attributed to the ringgit’s slump this year. The company said then that it would be monitoring the exchange rate closely and decide on the price in December.
With 2016 a few days away, the first of the increases has come about – pricing for the Honda City model range has been revised, as revealed by a new price list for the car sent in by reader Mohd Faiz. The increase, which comes into effect on January 1, covers all four variants in the lineup, and are as follows:
Honda City Grade S – RM76,100 (post-GST, RM74,008) Honda City Grade S+ – RM79,300 (post-GST, RM77,124) Honda City Grade E – RM84,600 (post-GST, RM82,270) Honda City Grade V – RM92,000 (post-GST, RM89,468)
In more direct fashion, this works out to an increase of RM2,092 for the Grade S, RM2,176 for the Grade S+, RM2,330 for the Grade E and RM2,532 for the Grade V.
The fifth-gen City was introduced in Malaysia in March 2014, and all four current model grades were available at point of launch. All variants are powered by a 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine offering 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, and the mill is paired with a CVT gearbox.

The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) today released the latest round of test results at the ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards in Kuching, Sarawak – four models make up the set for Q3 2014 testing, which is part of the agency’s move towards a more frequent “test-and-publish” programme following the conclusion of its three-phase pilot project.
The four vehicles that underwent the latest round of crash test evaluation are the 2014 Honda City and 2014 Honda Jazz, the Tata Vista and the upcoming Perodua Axia. The result summary for the vehicles in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) is as follows:
Perodua Axia 1000-E built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 4 stars, Child: 4 stars Honda City SV built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 5 stars (4 stars, two airbags), Child: 4 stars Honda Jazz SV, built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 5 stars (4 stars, two airbags), Child: 4 stars Tata Vista GZX 1.4L built 2014, MY2014 – Adult: 3 stars, Child: 3 stars The Tata Vista, which scored 9.24 points out of a possible 16 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), is produced in India and is only available in Indonesia and Myanmar. The agency says that this is the first time a car of Indian manufacturing origin has undergone ASEAN NCAP assessment.
Both Honda City and Jazz models that were tested were Thai-built models for the Thailand market, with the six airbags variant scoring five stars, and the two airbag version obtaining four stars. In the AOP rating, the Honda City broke the record score in ASEAN NCAP testing by managing 15.80 points, surpassing the previous high of 15.73 points obtained by the Ford Fiesta. The Jazz scored 15.58 points.
The Perodua Axia, meanwhile, has the honour of being the first vehicle in the evaluation programme to be launched into the market with ASEAN NCAP results, and is set to be the most affordable 4-star car (in both AOP and COP) in the ASEAN region, according to the agency. It managed an AOP score of 12.91.

It allows you to use the touch screen without looking at the phone
Which means you can control your Music and use Waze from your HU. It also works without bypass
Get the Digital AV Adapter cable, HDMI cable and connect the necessary wires to your car HU
Step 3 Pair your phone bluetooth with your car HU
Step 4 Plug in your phone to the Digital AV cable and the HDMI is connected to your car HU. At the menu, you will notice that there will be an arrow pointing to the right
Step 5 Open App Radio app
Step 6 Click on the right arrow on your HU. You will be presented with the word "connecting..."
Step 7 After few seconds, you will notice the Pioneer App Radio launcher is launched. Swipe right and you will see your Waze icon
Step 8. Click on Waze and it will switch to Waze app. First time connecting waze will prompt you a dialog asking you do you want external device control waze. Click Yes
Step 9. Waze will work and you can use the touch screen to play it.
Step 10: The moment you click the home button on your HU, it will disconnects the screen. You need to open back Waze from your phone.
With jailbreak, you can do more where the HOME BUTTON WILL WORK flawlessly.
The behavior will be as following
1) Plugged in the HDMI cable, it will auto connect to your car HU via bluetooth and AppRadio launcher will launch 2) Clicking the home button will open AppRadio launcher
Step 1: Download the honda app launcher and Pioneer AppRadio app
Step 2: Make sure you have activator installed on your phone.
Step 3: Connect to your car HU via bluetooth and HDMI
Step 3: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Bluetooth Devices. Step 3a: At Bluetooth Devices > Connected to Honda HFT. Select User Application > App Radio
Step 4: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > More Step 4a: Select Application Launch > Choose Honda Launcher
Step 5: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Application Launched Step 5a: At Launch Launcher > Choose App Radio
*optional if you always plug in charger with HDMI together
Step 6: Go to Settings > Activator > Anywhere > Power Step 6a: At Connected > Choose Switches > Bluetooth
With these steps, your HU screen home button will work and whenever you connect the Digital AV cable in your car to your phone, it will auto open AppRadio where you can jump to other AppRadio approved applications.
When you press home on your HU, it will auto launch Honda Launcher app and it will redirect to AppRadio automatically.

I didn't snap much photo for the DIY. So, I simply draft out the DIY idea here..
First thing, buy a plug and play illuminated side step. Which I get from Sato auto acc m sdn bhd on Mudah
RM160 + RM20 postage to my place.
The side steps comes with the complete wiring and socket for our ride. Which means you no need to cut any wire. No warranty issue on this DIY. Just plug and play.
On the wiring of the side step, I tap on 2 extra bulb for the foot light (red/black wire). See the photo below.
Bought the T5 socket for the foot light bulb on eBay. Which cost me around RM5 for each of it. Then buy a wire holder from electric shop. Tied the bulb on it and put 3M double side tape behind. And ready to put below the dashboard. Oh ya, the T5 blue LED from eBay as well.
After the wiring work is done. Its time to open interior cover part by part to route the wire. Those steps I follow some tutorial on youtube. Important reminder. Be extremely careful to the handling of the retaining tabs and clips particularly.
Very simple right? hope you guys can DIY yourself a set like mine.

Make you check your radiator water level also like how you check your tyre pressure...
Never use tap water, mineral water, filter water, etc...
Tap water is full of calcium, magnesium and other deposits which will form scaling (like in a boiler) and reduce the heat reduction efficiency of the radiator, clogging it with deposits.
Always use Honda Coolant Type 2 which is premixed and ready to pour into your radiator... Get a bottle from Hingan for rm20+... SC won't top up with the coolant but with tap water... Your City came out from factory with this Type 2 coolant inside...

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 9 2014, 10:17 PM)
Let me help you guys know more about cars and engine oil. The reason why SC insisted on not changing the oil is because there's a reason to it. All new Honda cars are filled with a special type of engine oil from the factory. Its different from those sold in the market or SC. This type of oil are meant for new engines that requires breaking in thus the composition of chemicals, addictives etc are different.
If you guys google more, u will notice Honda USA have explanation on the 1,000km doesn't require an oil change.
I hope i gave some useful info for you guys.

City CVT Mode

QUOTE
To make it easier to understand, CVT varies between a set of ratios (Let's say 3.5 to 0.7), while for 5AT each gear has its own ratio.
D mode = All ratios is being used for maximum efficiency (For AT, which means all 5 gears can be engaged, and CVT can vary into all the given ratio)
S mode = O/D Off, for Honda 5AT you are left with 1,2,3 only since 4 and 5 are OD gear. The same goes to CVT (which means the ratio range is now reduced to 3.5 to 1.0) hence dubbed as sport mode since with shorter ratio your rpm stays higher, and shorter ratio (lower gear) means more responsive throttle, and also better traction. It is like how you would go to lower gear on slope/going down hill/taking a corner.
L mode = Only the initial ratio (means only first gear for AT, first ratio range for CVT) used only for heavy towing or you are really going down a super slope
by ZeroSP
QUOTE
Yes, if you going up genting and you want easier time, put it to S mode. And going down hill the same also, you will want to use the lower gear ratio range in S mode.
I dunno what car you drive before but to sum it up.
D mode = D mode just like any car
S mode = O/D off in most general automatic car, or some car marked as D3 (As I have seen in Kelisa), cause their D is D4.
L mode = Same like normal L mode
Maintaining CVT and its performance, install a CVTF cooler (normally referred as ATF cooler, but since this is not an AT, I call it CVTF cooler), it works the same just to cool down your transmission fluid.
And for Honda, use the premium CVTF from Japan instead of normal grade CVTF from Singapore. The premium is called HMMF (Honda Multi Matic Fluid) that comes in 4 litre can and cost 2x of normal CVTF. Many claims they are the same, but I tell you no, it is far different. I have used the HMMF for the my home old City, the ATF-DW1 Ultra for my sister's City, and also the MTF-3 Ultra for my bro's FD2R. All Japan version have superior response, especially in the CVT and AT, since for MT the gear change smoothness depends on your clutch control.
Note: The new City CVT is paired with Torque Converter, therefore I am not sure whether HMMF or the HCF-2 should be used as I do not own the new City. Kindly refer to your manual book.

Philips 5000K is DiamondVision, blue-ish white, totally no yellow already 4300K is Philips CrystalVision, white with JUST A BIT yellow Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited is 3900K, yellow with a bit of white
IMHO don't touch the high beam
Using CrystalVision and so far happy with it
On a clear night, CrystalVision totally drowns the light from my fog lights

latest project, successfully mirror the image using wireless connection from my hp to V spec HU. BTW, this is my 2nd attempt using a HDMI wifi dongle manufactured by different company. solution, need a dongle that support low resolution (most dongle in our market only support high resolution) & using built-it miracast function in my new hp. damaged, rm100 for a wifi dongle & rm279 for Asus Zenfone4 hp. easy to setup, plug n play. connection stable & smooth without any problem. no need to use HDMI, MHL or Apple Digital AV cable anymore.. :-)
dongle original location..
i hide the dongle behind the dashboard, beside the passengger legroom using an ext hdmi cable..

in that case, you might wanna record a video and show it to sc, or maybe try to locate where the sound came from, by having someone sitting at the back
There's a gap between fabric and the cushion. Boleh tekan fabric tu baru rasa cushion. Obvious one is at the back of seat. 😅 Later i provide u the picture
Hi everyone, will be picking up my City V by next week. Can anyone recommend a good car tint to use (currently looking at 3M)? Prefer the ones that won't kacau by JPJ or traffic police.
Also, would greatly appreciate if anyone can point me to a good service center (I'm based in PJ)
Thank you.

I'm serious and I'm comparing it to old Volvo and Merc as in 1991 Merc and 2000 Volvo. So a new two months old Honda shouldn't b making any noise if those super old car dun

better get yours check asap. sure as hell it will be irritating with all the squeaking and rattling.
chinti, I got my city e specs 2 months ago in Nov last year similar to yours. I saw your post of noises and brought to SC but couldn't identify the problem. For your info, my car seems fine without any noise even when driving around 30 to 40km/h. Maybe just the louder sound when you rev the engine in some cases, but other than that, no other specific sound are spotted.
yes...the price almost there, if u dun mind the budget....can go to philips 1, but much more expensive, life span sure will shorter than regular bulb since it push the bulb limit to higher brightness....
Hi guys, need some advice, if there is 2016 model available now, should I buy with higher discount or buy 2017 model?
wow still can get 2016 model? my SA told me all sold out, so cant secure 2016 model for me. Anyway it's quite worth it la if you go for 2016 model, 8k discount. my current 2017 model i only get 4800 discount from my SA. But when you sell the car in the future the price difference between 2016 & 2017 model will be around 3 ~ 5k difference. So depends if you wanna save now or get more money back later in the future. That's my RM0.02 la, any sifu can provide better comment please by all means do so, I also wanna learn

power or not, my two months old city making tons of noise which irritates me a lot. u should go around asking diff SA 1st, saying got SA giv u 5k discount, ask can they match it or beat it
U cannot have your cake and eat it. With higher light output, sure koyak earlier than normal bulb.
Confirm, my Osram Nighbreaker Unlimited lasted my less than 1 year.
Philips has (slightly) longer life in my experience. Go for X-tremeVision.
then i better stick with ori bulb ... and get another pair of bosch h11 for spare ...

Yes agree with you on the concern of resell value 3-5k difference in future, I'm thinking if these 3-5k value depreciate as well the longer I hold the car? Let's say I sell the car after 10years, the difference between 2016 and 2017 model may be only 1k, is that possible?

Try unmount/lower the back seats, and slam it (yes, slam it) back in place. This sound usually occurs if the seat is not firmly locked in place.

sometimes yes, so its not from the seat d. this squeaking sound also same lik tht rattling sound, got mood punya i takut when i go SC no sound pula
last time i have a squeaking noise(metal) if no one sit behind and pass through a bump. the noise is gone after SC tighten the so called seat bracket. But if there is pl sitting behind and go through a bump, the squeaking noise will appear but only a small chance. I think you need to bring the technician for a ronda ronda in taman to show the noiseXD ask them sit behind too and go through bump.

My current SA offer 5k, while the previous SA only offer 4k
the front looks like current new sleek Civic look but the back still the same city.
From the pic....they changed the front grill and the headlights to be sync with civic and accord design. The bumpers for the front and back also changed...thats it. Other than that status quo. Interior wise not sure anything changed.
with the DRL and slight facelift, basic model most likely hit 80k(with insurance) at least compare to current basic 76.1k?
I think the E spec and below won't get the DRL, so maybe not much increase.
My prediction: 1. Slight interior trim changes. 2. V-spec HU will get updated to new version that support Apply Carplay/Android Auto. 3. VSA standard across all variant. (To be competitive against the Vios) 4. S spec discontinued. (The Vios J just more value than the S spec)

If its true, will Honda able update current gen with software update only....
If you install DRL, most of it requires you to change the cover as well. wouldn't it be better than to drill holes on your original cover? You can still keep your original cover for future use.

Better to drill holes and secure with screws and nuts. Also use a bit of industrial glue to secure it further... Just 3M tape? You not scared get stolen?

Can buy back original from Hingan Auto or Honda SC around rm8+ each... If not, can go Ace Hardware and buy those rubber feet for chairs and use... Guarantee won't get stolen...

'bout the wiper nut cap, mine goes missing few days ago.. can i just go to any accessories shop & get them?
or any of you guys know where to buy in penang / mainland?
I bought a new one in SC but was stolen again. So I bought a cap used on chairs in hardware store. Although doesn't look nice but at least no one wants to steal it now.
whats the price if install outside? any recommendation in butterworth area?
Sorry dunno about the price as i don't intend to install it. I usually lock all doors before i drive off. Maybe others can recommend to u. I believe there are some owners here who installed auto door lock
Auto lock when your speed goes beyond 20kmph. Auto unlock when you shift to P. There is another type which auto locks when you shift to D, that can be found in Lazada also with slightly lower price. Installation is easy, just plug it into the OBD port and that's it.
Anyone encounter the hill start assist doesnt work?
When i get my car from shopping mall parking, there is a slope uphill to exit the car park. I found my HSA doesnt work that time, it will slope backward when i release my brake, the gear in D mode.
I then drive along on my way back, i test again and it work as normal. What i can suspect is did the car need to "warm up" to make the HSA work? Or something like ABS it need certain speed to activate the HSA?
Can our CVT gearbox last as long as the Vtevc engine with proper care and genuine CVT treatment? CVT is kinda sensitive transmission and will cost a bomb to replace.

I means is there any proper care of CVT beside changing CVT oil frequently, such as put neutral when at traffic light or dont accelerate during cold start...or any proper driving style to prolong CVT gearbox lifespan ...

CVT gearbox cost RM14k (exclude labour). im changing the gearbox oil every 20k km instead of 40k km. if you always revving ur engine > 3000rpm, recomemded to use 0w-30 more thick higher fuel comsumption < 3000 rpm use 0w-20 thin oil fuel saving.
Been using 0w30 since 10k service until now 60k...
Auto lock when your speed goes beyond 20kmph. Auto unlock when you shift to P. There is another type which auto locks when you shift to D, that can be found in Lazada also with slightly lower price. Installation is easy, just plug it into the OBD port and that's it.
Hello, may I know if I din't follow their service schedule to service my car will void the warranty or not? Like change the cabin filter, air filter outside, DIY change light bulbs...
If as per stated above , no . It won't void ur warranty ..is this a troll? Change light bulb urself void warranty ?
lol...just wan to verified only, u know some sc quite sneaky 1...btw, change the cabin and air filter won't void the warranty as well?
Since the air/cabin filter is part of the preventive maintenance, I guess it might void the warranty since you are not following the recommended maintenance by authorized SC. Better read the warranty booklet for the TnC.
Ya.i change air filter and cabin filter myself .still manage to claim warranty on starter U only need to change sparkplug every 100k ..not every 10k like Myvi .Honda use iridium spark plug ,Rm400 .
ohoh...means wont void the warranty la...btw, what brand of air filter and cabin filter u changed?
air filter i use back Honda ori. cabin i use bosch activated carbon
ohoh...the ori air filter from SC or u buy at outside? is the air filter same with the 1 when we take the new car 1st day in white color? or yellow color?
Hi All, i have 1 question, if driving on the slope or down the slope. I stop my car and shift to "N" and pull up the handbrake. Does the car will continue to move ? As i encounter when i stop on the slope and shift my gear to N and pull the hand brake. The car will slowly move down or move up. Please advise is this normal ? If not, then i will inform SC on my first 10kkm service. BTW my car is just 2 months old. Thanks.

If you only pulling handbrake softly
It will move toward gravity's direction.
The problem only if you still feel had force toward front on N

Hi Tachlio, Yes, it move toward the gravity direction. As i thought when hand brake applied and gear shift to "N" mode, the car will station on slope without any movement. (Base on my driving manual car last time). But now, the car will move to gravity direction, abit by abit it move. Feel like the rear brake is not fully lock the behind both wheels.

If had any dough on handbrake issue, just as SC to check. I also found mine need pull with bit force to secure the location, my wife sometime ask me why need pull so hard on handbrake
RM370 for 2 tyres is reasonable for me..i saw XM2 rm270 each.. how's the tyre, in terms of noise and grip ?
RM208.80/pc ...use 2 diff lazada voucher to get extra RM43 discount ...XM2 treadwear 420, higher than Goodyear Excellence 240. so its a long lasting tyre. according to most users, this tyre will become very noisy after using >50% , grip wise , dont expect much from this budget tyre ...
higher rating treadwear tyre , grip wont be that good ... its a normal tyre
Guys, just now when i start my car and going to work... I realize my aircond not cold as usual... So I turn off and turn it on again.. Then it become cold as usual... Try unmount/lower the back seats, and slam it (yes, slam it) back in place. This sound usually occurs if the seat is not firmly locked in place.

Erm.. I noticed a lot of you guys have been complaining about the noises in your city.
But my city a bit different, mcm a bit too quiet although also got some squeaking when going through bump or uneven road or in the afternoon. But really minor.. so I don't really bother at all.
So, here's the problem. I have been trying to listen for the "tak"sound at 40km/h as complained by most users here. Walao.. mcm that sound no keluar at all... now I am a bit worried whether my ABS malfunction or what.
Shall I ask SC to check? But I know they sure say, everything is ok one..

At first, i thought the "truk" sound is something wrong, only get to know that it is normal. Did you guys always drive on econ mode? I've been driving on econ mode all the while since i got my car. Always feel under powered especially on the first gear, other than that smooth drive as always. Not get used to CVT as it always get up to rpm 2/3, therefore i always try to press lightly and accelerate slowly

Because that sound Is activation of abs right? Passive safety technology, so I worry a bit.
Actually I also shocked with you Guys complained about the noises. Don't I am too insensitive or what.
The face lift is a joke.... Only difference is new LED headlamps.... oh my gawd...
Just go change eagle eyes head lamps and install osram / piaa led ... solved.
Buy a different grille too and different front bumper to fit that grille of the facelift too if you can. While you're at it, look for a rear different bumper too. Nobody's stopping you.

Hmm shall try that one day. Mine 40km/h sound still around, even after 10000km service. The best fc i've achieved so far around 22km/l.
Ya why not? Look at earlier post. He achieved 23km/l
Even Axia can't achieve 22km/l in real world situation, do you expect me to believe city can achieve that? I have drove all highway from KL to JB and only can achieved 16km/l.

First few KM after refueling and you reset the millage and you drive damn slow then you can achieve that figure la.

You cannot doesn't mean others cannot. If drive from KL to JB and back again at constant speed of 100-110 km/h, i also can achieve that kind of figure.

for Honda City , it is possible to get 22km/h for highway drive ....i get 20km/l 90-100km/h

Not to talk big but i drove all the way from Penang to KL, traffic sometimes heavy sometimes light can get 19.0km/l easily. It's not all about ur car ability, it's about how you play with the paddle.
Hopefully the DRL can be fix to current honda city..
It comes together whole with the headlights. To change original and used honda headlights is 3k a pair. This is for current city model with honda grace jdm led headlights. New fl model headlight dunno can fit older model not.

+1
constant steady rpm will help lots.
probably heavier weight on this version, need 80-90 km/h best fc so far for me (if not in hurry), sold idsi cvt best fc at 70-80km/h.

My rear passenger power window faulty .1.5yrs only . Lolz ... Tried this morning for 20mins and can't pull down ...
Same for me. SC fix the rubber seal and lubricates the windowlifter motor. And then he advised me to open/close to window once everyday to prevent the sticking.

I had this power window issue on both of my rear windows since day one. I always raise this issue to the Actmar SC but they say no issue after testing for a few minutes. They don't even bother to check it unless it is permanently spoilt. In the end, just applied some oil. Planning to change another SC and raise this issue again.

almost 3k mileage but only hit 13.8km/l so far. Most probably all differs by driving habit or traffic condition?
Btw, I saw some other forum on using empty fuse box area to get power for foot light input. Anyone can enlighten on this matter? was thinking of diy but checked mr diy version is using cigarette head and it comes with switch on/off on the paper said. If its possible to build own circuit then would be best.

Good FC only attainable on smooth traffic aka highway . Depend on traffic condition .
Ask for professional advice before DIY . U could end up spoil ur car and warranty void .

Yeah I tried using credit card to pry open the rubber seal before, but too much hassle to do it every single time... Silicone & Teflon dry lube don't work. So my daily routine every morning is to wind down all the windows (abit is enough). So far so good.

My initial purpose is to test all power windows and claim warranty should it fail within 5yrs ...but now it is a daily routine
in that case, you might wanna record a video and show it to sc, or maybe try to locate where the sound came from, by having someone sitting at the back
finally found the "dok" sound source, it's from the rear seats cross bar, the bolt tighten the cross bar was loose...
That highway high traffics . Surprised that you manage to get such features haha

The best one i can achieve only 14km/l, only when i drive with alot 'patient'..
Usually I getting 12 to 13km/l, mix highway and city drive.. something start engine doing nothing in car for 30min...
actually it depend how you drive and road topography as well. more often you accelerate, high fuel consumption. road bump, traffic light and road gradient (more climbing than downhill) also impact the fuel consumption.
my suggestion, see the meter panel. more often you see blue light rather than green, it show increase of fc.

It is good to hear if this solves your sound problem. Earlier today I heard a ticking sound that I never heard before. I spend like 10 mins to listen to where the sound comes from. Give up and got back to my car just now and noticed the sound is gone. Then when I turn on the wiper it is up again.
Anyone experienced similar sound? I swear I never heard this before.

- Reverse sensor intermittent keep beep during "R" - Sent to related SC checking, they confirm is one side is NG, so they need order. - Took 1 month for part to arrive SC. - Car sent 9.20am, they call me 11am said done. - Due to bringing new born with me, so unable check the car. - Testing the sensor at night, found one sensor is disable!!!!! - The invoice stated REPLACEMENT OF PARKING SENSOR
Really waste of my time and piss of with such SC. Already heard few case this SC, charge but not replace the part but due to near my working location, so believe so call authorized SC.
Will write a complain letter ask other SC to verify so call the fix!!! Beware Penang Honda user!

Looks like need to change grill and bumper if need to use the new LED headlamp as the design is different from existing...
on visual roughly i see that the whole grill part on FL have similar measurement as current model.. if still cannot, i hope someone could do some mod coz the FL front bumper is ugly for my liking

I would rather believe it will not fit without changing the whole grill and bumper. But if you dislike the new design, you can get yourselves Honda Grace's LED taillamp & LED headlight. No need change bumper & grill. Just you need to spend quite a big amount of money to achieve it. Around 5k for both taillight & headlight if not mistaken.

Sifu - sifu,
Anyone able to mirrorlink their huawei P9 / P9 Lite to V-spec's HU ?
Only function now I have is streaming audio via bluetooth. Tried different cable, it says phone connected via mirrorlink (on phone screen) then it blacks out.
to all city sifus, how to shift the gear without turn on the engine? I read from somewhere else, for start driving, its better to shift the gear from P to N first, then only start engine. for parking, its better to shift the gear to N first, off engine then only shift to P.
I always have this practise, after i park my car, i will do the below step.
Shift to N > Pull handbrake > Release foot brake(make sure handbrake hold the car position) > Shift to P > off engine..

U will get warning sound from car ,if u didn't engage P and off engine .this is extremely dangerous and don't make it a habit .

Andriod ** For Andriod, please check your phone with MHL support ** MHL cable is different by pin, please confirm suite your phone before purchase. eg : Note2 is using 11pin MHL Ebay example Lelong MHL Cable Due to certain reason, Honda is limit the usage only when handbrake is pull. But there is some way to bypass the detection. (refer to DIY)

No.this is not normal.pls try to record down and bring to SC soon
Just wondering anyone know roughly how much is it to repaint the whole car to different color? Regretting getting black and too much of squirrel and dent(freebies from public parking) cause eye sores 😔

by the way, how do you guys estimate the front distance during side parking, while the bonnet not visible?
dont shoot me as my very old car is able to see the bonnet at driver side.
Unlike the divider down below, you can naturally feel it if it is too close as you can see the other car. If you don't feel comfortable, just realign your car and try it again. Not seeing the bonnet doesn't matter because there is always a gap and you're not going on a hairline gap towards a car that is unless you want to see scratches on your fender or bumper.
Hello there...want to ask have you guys faced this problem before? My city variant is V spec, that day i was shocked that my side mirror was over retracted like the pic below when i stated my car... I do not folded the side mirror when i park my car, the passenger side one ok, just the driver's side one turned like that when i start my car before start engine, both mirror seems ok....

Probably your side mirror is knocked out of place by something or someone, most side mirrors have gear mechanism and when being pushed the other way around it will dislocate as a means to protect the folding mechanism. Just pull it back in place and the gears will snap back. If that doesn't work, then it means ur side mirror folding gear might be broken, get it checked.

i think not knocked by anything, coz before i get into my car both side mirrors seems ok in correct positions, when i push start the engine...i heard the mirror motor operated and the driver side mirror over turn like that...but don't have any movement on the passenger side mirror...

Did you push it back in place and try to simulate the same problem ? Drive to ur nearest SC and ask them to get it checked then.

I didn't use hand to push it back in place, i press the retract button on and off to make the mirror back to place...and i checked the mirror, no broken gear or something loose....

Is this the original side mirror? I see that you have a lanewatch camera there.
this pic just a sample i taken from internet...my city's side mirror happen something like that...
I see... so you are saying that you did not fold the mirror when you stop your car, but the right mirror "fold" when you start the car? If yes, I suggest that you bring it back to SC. It seems something wrong with the mirror circuit.

yes...it fold forward somore for the driver side's mirror...
V-spec still got 6 airbags and 7" HU. I think e-spec is less special now.
But I won't buy a 70-80k car with single or double din player .still prefer v spec ... At least got touch screen air-conditioning .the new v spec 16" rim not so nice .
Wahhhh am i the only one who thinks honda being super lazy this time around? Seriously not much upgrade at all. This new city is trying so hard to be like civic design language. I expect them to change the back outlook since the back doesnt really have that nice look. And i think i can just change my front bumper to the facelift version without any problem since the design is pretty much the same. Easy upgrade for us 6th gen i guess. Haha.

minor facelifts are usually like this, always on the cosmetic looks and also to uprate the lower specs. Their move is very definite to countermeasure Vios giving VSA, Keyless push start for all spec.

its a good move by Honda Malaysia to offer VSA to all variants ... to lower down the accident rate in Msia
Alright. I can now hear rattling sound coming from the back of my Steering Wheel. When i push down of the plastic behind the steering wheel. It stops.
This is common right? I've read it in this thread before. Can be fixed by the SC?
Also having problems with the driver side rear door....the rubber seal keeps falling down everytime it gets too hot.
The rattling sound is coming out when the car is stationary or moving or what? Mine also got rattling sound coming out from driver side, either dashboard or steeling wheel area, but only turning right. if moving straight dont have, not sure is similar or not.

*my car is 5 days old only
Mine is rattling when its moving as well as when stationary.

Since Transport minister already announce they want to make VSA compulsory in everycar by 2018. Its a good time for car makers to start rolling the dice.

Hello guys. New city owner here. I have some questions regarding warranty. If install new eagle eye headlight and tail light, will it voids the warranty?
yes
best to keep the original lamp so that u can change in case want to claim warranty
honda warranty policy = anything u changed to ur car (except wear n tear parts) will void warranty
even changing rim also will give u problem during warranty claim
sucks right
but as long as u didn't cut any wire, u can replace the part with original one before claiming warranty
if im not mistaken, last time i asked and the staff told me it only void warranty for tht thing u changed. lets say i chg head unit, the warranty for head unit will b void but the rest of the car warranty still remain the same.

last time IIANM got 1 cr-z user change rim, then not long after that his gearbox spoilt
SC reluctant to change the gearbox coz they said it's because changing rim
this is what i hear la.. i might be wrong on this
but if u change the electronics part, if anything happens related to electronics they will blame the one that u changed also
to be safe, before going for warranty, make sure all parts are original from the 1st day u bought (except wear n tear)

they hv to prove to u tht the rim is the cause of ur spoilt gearbox else they cant void lik tht, u can email to honda for complain if they void ur warranty witout giving u proof tht the thing u changed dmg the parts

the warranty is provided by them.
now the complicated part: the onus of proof lies with the owner. he has to proof to honda that change of rims does not affect the gearbox. good luck on that.

Mind to share how to install that? Will it void warranty?
Thought of giving my car to workshop for maintenance,.. after reading so much of warranty and car parts failure. I guess i shall stick with the sc maintenance.
Btw, anyone know any workshop owner is previously Honda service crew? And anyone did their balancing any where?
