That's the branding of the box. It still require Internet connection to decrypt Astro channels, and only SD channels can be watched. HD channels can't.
Unless you are referring to receiving other channels from satellites.

The seller mention atleast 64kbps speed also can receive all SD channels. I don't know about this thingy because i not using. For satellite free & encrypt channel. Maybe you can get all encrypt channel by key in biss code & blind scan. I think lar.

I don't know more la. Since this knowledge you can find on internet. Easy to know which decoder support that satellite transponder. Because this is illegal so better kept quiet. And you can see other FB page streaming Astro Supersport HD channel in FB. This things cannot last long if someone report FB or MCMC because trying using illegal thing which is law in Malaysia stated can't use. Anyway, long life FB & YouTube TV streamers.

I almost forgot there was a channel named VIJAY on ASTRO GO..
Is it direct from India? or macam campur lagi iklan "On demand VOD" ka, ASTRO GO ka...
And seems like STAR VIJAY on air look still in old branding(and logo,not like STAR INDIA CHANNELS WHICH IS ALL CHANGED TO NEW LOGO), only changed the subtitle to "21th FOX century company.

lol astro Indian channels don't have direct telecast one...
It's like "copy" the content feed then broadcast according to astro timing..

All Indian channels on astro are run here by a group of businessmen at astro under the Indian Program Unit ,the selected content mostly silly serials and Talent shows from the channels are repacked and rescheduled locally and airtime slots are sold to local advertisers.so its two birds with one stone

Just like here. We have ONE HD as SBS Korea channel. But the feed is not same & not LIVE from South Korea original feed. Some SBS show not showing here maybe due to some show need or heavily censored by astro anyway.

I lost hope with TV station nowadays. Because if you want that show that exclusive in that country to be show here. No hope. Since our censorship is really worst. And i really sure that Korea or all channel also be censor. Some okay to cut or blur. But sometime i think astro buang part yang tak perlu dipotong. You watch their censor english channel also make me wondering where that part you see in internet not available on Astro TV.

No wonder article in internet stated that many people download TV content in internet than watching versi potong di Astro.

Last I remember, spore law does not allow local insertion of adverts or selling of airtime in channels from content providers,but in corrupted msia all is possible even licence expired also can carry on!

Yes I know how that works. And yes you can watch almost all Astro SD channels by paying a low fee, but that "service" are not guaranteed as you will experience intermittent interruptions when watching due to several technical limitations. Whether are you able to decrypt the encrypted channels, it depends on the encryption used. Some encryption can be decrypted by entering its key (in layman term, password), some requires a smart card (common in pay TV services and content providers). Encryption such as BISS can be easily decrypted by almost any compatible satellite receivers by entering its key (password).

Blind scan is where you scan for all channels available from the satellite, same thing as how you use "Auto Search" to scan for terrestrial channels using UHF antenna.

This kind of info is not easily found on Google because not everyone interested in satellite TV topic. It is better to refer someone that good in this and willing to share.

In majority of countries worldwide, watching satellite TV from other satellites (including the use of big parabolic dish) is legal but in Malaysia is illegal because government mainly wants to protect Astro.

Illegally stream/rebroadcast sport content or copyrighted content to any other platform (including Facebook Live or YouTube) without permission is illegal worldwide, not just Malaysia.

No pal not working but was a regular complainant ,taking them to task over several issues! I knew finally how they worked,Indians swindle Indians to be exact! They have deals with their India counterparts Thats how Vinmeed HD was produced to protect it no other Tamil HD channels were allowed,thats hw they protect their business after 20 years I am now on just Family HD pack,astro is not worth the money at all !First PQ is hopeless ,setup box outdated with no good audio/video features then the recycled content,well just my opinion!

Astro famous on the so-called "rojak" channels

I wonder what will happen to astro if MYTV officially launch & MYTV will offer good channel. MYTV also from crony. So i suspect that they will have some rojak channel like astro. Their website also stated that they will have PVR box to record.

I hope its not another ABNxcess fail project. I want in-future this provider will compete. Teresterial vs Satellite. Both will covered 99% of Malaysia. Some terestirial tv analog in some gua or hutan don't have signal. And i see that people in that zone is using Astro or NJOI to watching tv. I hope MYTV signal also will be cover to them.

Okay. No wonder don't have any Indian HD channel other than Astro in House Vinmeen HD which also get content from India

The Star Vijay feed available in Singapore is the same as astro.... STAR India only beams out 1 SD international across Asia, UK etc. Only difference is astro removes the commercial and billboards fr the original feed and probably, inserted their own.

Xing Kong (International feed) still on Singtel. Likewise, STAR GOLD Middle East / SEA feed.
