Atleast OD pic is way more better than Astro channel.
I think astro use MPEG4 for all SD & HD content on OD FREE & PLUS

But still their charge RM15/month for OD PLUS!!

I think the price only RM12/month

TVB Classic 305 is in native 16:9, yet astro still choose to 4:3 letterbox'ed it. 

That ANIPLUS On Demand is HD or SD 16:9?
That include on Astro OD PLUS right?

Some hope ANIPLUS HD will be launch on Astro this year.

For Aniplus On Demand in AOTG app stream quality. I think depend on your internet speed. If sometime below 500Kbps-1Mbps quality in 240p-360p. Even worse can be 144p. I manage to get speed up to 1.5Mbps-2Mbps & quality i get is 360-480p.
I believe that HD content on AOTG is not even atleast in 720p quality. Max you can get is 480p video quality.

Looks like Comedy Central, K-PLUS and ANIPLUS seems to be the next channels lineup to be introduced soon. But don't be so happy and celebrate about it yet. Customers may get an "unhappy welcome gift" when they announce that customers need to pay extra to watch those newly added channels, which I think you should not be surprise about this.

I have found out more about K-Plus at their official website, it appears that all the Korean shows aired are all recycled, some are few months old or even few years after Korea TV broadcast. So in conclusion, the content on K-Plus channel is not fresh and not as new as what KBS World, One HD, Oh!K and tvN, so I doubt will K Plus be included in Korean Pack.

Just for info, HyppTV will add 6 new channel tomorrow, Zee Tamil 303, Zee TV 304, Zee Cinema 309, Sony SAB 311, Sony SET 312 and TVN Movies 222. But remove 2 channels UTV Bindass 305 and Bindass Play 301. Rebrand MNC Channel 115 to Pesona HD...

...while Astro....none.

I wonder will we be getting Tru TV & Thrill for next Astro lineup. Consider as previous addition in AOTG is KIX HD, AXN HD & new exclusive channel Aniplus, K+ & Comedy Central. For me Tru TV maybe not many people will watch but for Thrill channel.


What make me interested is HD quality viewing & support Chromecast to your HDTV for viewing on big screen.

As i notice that KIX HD, eGG Network, K+ & Aniplus made available on Tribe streaming app. Maybe this year Astro will launching Tribe app in Malaysia or Thailand. Tribe website always show Stay Tuned. Hope we not get this Tribe service as AOTG stream quality is very bad quality compare to HyppTV Everywhere app.

All Astro customers can now enjoy Astro GO, free

ASTRO is giving customers free access to Astro GO (previously known as Astro on the GO) app as part of their existing subscription.

The enhanced Astro GO was relaunched on a new user interface which is sleeker and intuitive to use with more relevant and personalised content surfaced for each individual viewer.

As an added sweetener, from April 1 to May 31 2017, all Astro customers who have registered and linked their Astro GO account can enjoy free viewing (with the exception of Pay Per View and Premium ala carte sports) of all TV channels and on demand content on Astro GO regardless of their package take up and entitlement.

Non-Astro customers who download the new Astro GO app will also have access to selected Astro channels during this period. As a special treat, all registered and linked Astro GO users can watch La La Land; a drama film featuring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for free via on demand from April 25 to May 31, 2017.
