I am trying to open one.

But i don't understand these questions.

1. Are you a Non-U.S. Foreign Tax resident?      Yes  No
    2. Do you have Non-U.S. foreign residential/mailing address (including a P.O. box address in a Non-U.S. foreign country)?      Yes  No
    3. Do you have Non-U.S. foreign telephone number and do not have any Malaysian telephone number?      Yes  No
    4. Do you have any standing instruction to transfer funds to account maintained in Non-U.S. foreign country?      Yes  No
    5. Do you have any power of attorney or signatory granted to a person with an address in Non-U.S. foreign country?      Yes  No
    6. Do you have hold mail address/in-care-of address in Non-U.S. foreign country which is the sole address?
I assume it should be "No" for all, right?

Also, do i need to transfer money into my savings first? Because it ask from where the money is coming from. It is not taking FPX from other banks?
*
Yes. I answered "No" for all 12 Q. (for >99% Malaysian, should be that way).
Not take from your saving account, click 3rd option, eTDi FPX from other bank. Only the 3rd option can enjoy 3.2% and 3.3%. If more than 30K might not be approved, depends on source bank. In that case, do multiple RM 30K.

This could be board rates for AM Bank as their web site is still showing May 2022 rates.

I just got this today from my RM:

From 7 Jul - 31 Jul, APPLICABLE FOR both ISLAMIC TD-i & CONVENTIONAL FD:

6 months @ 2.80% p.a
9 months @ 2.90% p.a
12 months @ 3.20% p.a

Terms & Conditions
1. Applicable for Islamic TDi / Conventional FD & FRESH FUNDS only
2. Placement criteria : min RM 10k CASA balance is COMPULSORY
3. Applicable for TD-i / FD > RM10k only
I got the following similar which was apparently effective last week:
Islamic
3 months 2.4% p.a.
6 months 2.55% p.a.
12 months 2.6% p.a.

Unfortunately, up till today CIMB Preferred has not re-instated the coffee, tea & water at their centres.

AmBank 12 mth 3.2% is for sure.

Yesterday just fwd the CIMB rate from my RM, which stated effective yesterday. Looks like 18 mth 3.2% is new, not in what u received ?????

Your RM did not send u the FD update yesterday ? My RM did not send me FD update last week. He seems to be more busy in selling Klibor, retail bonds, structured products than FD, hahaha. He got more commissions from there.........

1m 1.90 %
3m 2.00 %
6m 2.10 %
12m 2.00 %

The above are not AMBANK Board rates. It is this week special empowerment offer. I am told the rates can go up to 12m 2.40% but depends on branch.

The 7 to 31 July promo just came out 6m 2.80 %, 9m 2.90% and 12m 3.20%. FF minimum 10k, 10k in CASA required.

The existing 12m 3.20% for Priority customer (200k).

Ambank has a variety of products. Can look at their Islamic investment rates, and their branch empowerment offers.

I did not get the 18 mth 3.2% or maybe because i was asking more of 6 mth or 12 mths at the counter.

My RM is also busy with a whole lot of products too, initially said promo rates not out somemore. He will only send me the rates if i ask so not sure about the previous week/s.

Ambank became very strict this time, the promo rates are for fresh fund via cash / bankers cheque, could not even nego for transfer in so i only opt for 3.58% p.a. 12 mths 30 CASA:70 FD

Since u hv MBB savings ac u can open FD account online at MBB only. To open FD with other banks need to OTC

Most int rate promos are OTC. Online FD promos are by fewer banks and need to do by FPX etc more complication. So in a nutshell stick to MBB can do online but only get board rates. If want better go OTC and open all the necessary savings and FD accounts.

MBSB have prime promo. Need prime CASA or even just Prime SA is fine.

70%FD and 30%CASA. Effective rate is 3.15% 12months.

They basically giving like 4+ % on the 70% in FD hence effective 3.15%.

Available from July 15

Best in the market now: Public bank eTD Islamic 18m 3.3% via FPX only. Any other higher?

The world today is much more fragile and unpredictable than before. "BNM very much likely to announce an OPR hike again on 8 Sept 2022" is in the cloud.
I prefer to opt for : Best of the CURRENT. Just my 3 cents.

Hi my CIMB RM is on leave. The cimb 3.25% you posted for 18 months, any hidden clause or pure Fresh Fund big amount can get 3.25%? Currently this cimb 3.25% looks best.

Citibank 12 months 2.8%.

Anyone facing such situations before?

Placed AMB FD otc in a city. Then due to some matter, have to live in another city and unable to return to original branch for fd withdrawal for the time being. Possible to bring the FD cert to other AMB branch for withdrawal/renewal?

Asked AmBank ABM, CASA need to have RM10k. But no tie up, can release later.

10K CASA is not earmarked and tied-up but was advice by teller to keep for a day and move out only on the second day.

Anyone here move out the 10K on the same day immediately after placement?

My AmBank 12 mth 3.2% FD is not fresh fund. The branch asked for approval from HQ then proceeded with it.

Sorry, my RM sent it yesterday. Did not have the TnC. But I would not go for it in view of the OPR going up and the small increase vs the 12 mth rate in AmBank.

As I already has tie up in CASA, so no need to have add'l tie up of 10k. Anyway I think they just want to make sure u have 10k in CASA during the FD placement.

Never tried their prime product. Apparently have to keep the casa amount per the min 30% entire tenure

Have you experienced them?
