The banks have to maintain a healthy LDR ( loan to deposit ratio).

Pbb (and mbb) has no need to offer any record deals with FD as customers especially the older (read cina) folks line up to deposit with them in any case for the perception of being very "safe". Thus we see very competitive rates coming from the smaller players eg affin, bi, as many are skeptical and would not place deposits with them otherwise.

There is such a big gap of the rate between 6 and 12 months. They are enticing ppl to lock up for 12 mths.
Hmm not gonna do that will after July.

It seems like whenever HLB offer rates that are close to its competitors this is spoilt by its short duration. Example this offer is near to 1 week only. Why so shy? Are you not ashamed of being labelled the most kedukut bank? IMHO might as well not offer in the first place.

If TNC.. hmm.gif I think below:
(1) minimum RM 10K to place FD
(2) have extra minimum RM 10K in AM Bank saving account, but no locking by AM Bank
(3) submit cheque from another bank to prove fresh fund.

By the way, monthly interest is available upon request.
