i am facing a conundrum. my ambank fd rm60k just matured  yesterday. i wanted to renew with ambank at their new promo rate of 4.08 %.  i was planning to transfer out the 60k to maybank then transfer from maybank back to ambank so that it would be consider as fresh fund.
but the problem is ambank told me that their system will identify  such transfer pattern and reject it as fresh fund.  can anyone advise a work around?

how about ...
i) at maybank , request bank draft ? go back to ambank and place FD with maybank bank draft ?
ii) or terminate existing ambank account , then open a new account to "perform the transfer and place FD"

Yes this system feature was implemented this year only i believe. last year don't have such checking.
*
Lol... I doubt that.. hmm.gif

It's their people who determine that. Period.

Anyway... You can:
1. Open new account. Transfer funds to other bank. Then transfer back the next day to new account.

2. Top up the funds. Normally 10% and they'll waive the fresh funds requirement - that's what I was offered... Depends on the branch I guess...

what if you split your FD, means you put in as 2 FD, in 2 different day... hahahaha

btw, ambank now got promo, 3mths 8.88% bundle with amanah saham ASNB-kesihatan (they say annual interest is 6-7%), no min. fund, 1:1 ratio, 5% charge fee, declare dividen (not prorated) on 31st of march...

according to the PIC, if put in now, the ASNB-kesihatan, you pay 5% for the charges, when declare dividen, after contra the charges, means you will get net interest of 1-2% on this year (1st year)...

then, your FD on 3mths is 8.88%.... sounds not bad?

understood it may be human who determined that . the damn counter teller refuse to advise me properly.
*
No offence - but you have to understand the teller's position too.

They are tasked by the management to follow rules. If they were to tell u how to counter the management 's rules, who is going to keep them / pay for their rice bowl?

You can't ask them to risk their job for your convenience. There is untold rules hence you come here right? icon_rolleyes.gif

Just my two cents.

Otherwise just move to UOB? 4% for 12 months.

It is for Citgold customer who already got their FREE cc. Pure FD, no strings attached.  tongue.gif
*
Any cut-off deadlines for this particular 'promotion/benefit', before i give them a call for their citigold thingy, so I'm assuming they're trying to push for their CC since I'm also assuming that you already have a CC from them? Plus the last I monitor my parents account, they were giving less than 2.7% lol.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 1 2017, 12:15 PM)
After pledging a Rm400k Fd to them, I doubt they will ever reject your credit card. With the exception if you are a blacklist or have a bad ccris or ctos record. nod.gif
Why would they not be? What might be your worries? Ambank running away with your money? laugh.gif
*
They still can reject after failure of producing some reasonable documents to waive off their own damn liability.

Good morning bbgoat smile.gif I can't decide between Ambank 4.08% 8mths FD and MBSB 4.1 12mths, do you think you can give me some advice on this? Thanks
*
Better for u to look at various factors. Convenience, amt of FD placed, preference etc. biggrin.gif

withdraw it as cash, then plus or minus few hundreds and cash always consider as fresh funds unless the branch not keen to do FD.

Thanks for your excellent effort. I am not aware of CitiGold promo. It started in March? UT FD bundled sounds attractive.
