QUOTE(tbheng @ Jan 9 2017, 02:22 PM) Got into AmBank 4.1% today for 3years. Rollover from my last FD and backdated to start from last Saturday, no need to ask for weekend interest. (My last FD matured on last Saturday.) I understand when you say you are "tired". I too moved it to 3 yrs but into fixed income bond funds. Really tiring after several years hunting for FD. Haha.Took 3 years, too tired to run around. So slow doing FD over the counter. |

QUOTE(cfc @ Feb 6 2017, 01:51 PM) hi all sifu Yes sure but need to pay for bankdraft a few ringgit.want to ask about FD withdrawal method upon mature date can I ask them to give bank draft instead of putting the $$ back to saving account ? any idea on the charges ? RHB in particularly The main reason is I want the SA die automatically and don want to maintain a minimum RM10 anymore , it just have few ringgit left inside after they deduct the ATM annual fee |

QUOTE(babysiew @ Feb 15 2017, 12:04 PM) FD at HLBB due today. Thinking which bank to put next. Best would be OCBC 12m 4% valid till April 2017? BR I placed one FD already. Looking for another bank. Call me silly but I always worry to put all my eggs in one basket hehe I split them anyway if about in each bank is more than Rm250k (for pidm coverage) |

QUOTE(jusTinMM @ Feb 21 2017, 10:28 AM) Maybank offer me closed ended fund which is min. 4.5% per year for 3 years. After 3 years another average 2% bonus. Good deal? I concern that the money lock for 3 years. And both principal and interest is not guaranteed rite? It sound like some fixed income fund. I invested in Affin Hwang Fixed Income fund too end of last year for 3 yrs. Too malas to hunt for FD every now and then but I do still have several FDs in hand just in case I need some funds. If you are sure you wont need the fund or like me, those funds have been renewed in FD year after year after year (more than 10 yrs) so thats why i move some to fixed income funds. |

QUOTE(murderallthemods @ Mar 1 2017, 01:55 PM) i am facing a conundrum. my ambank fd rm60k just matured yesterday. i wanted to renew with ambank at their new promo rate of 4.08 %. i was planning to transfer out the 60k to maybank then transfer from maybank back to ambank so that it would be consider as fresh fund. Their system so keng?but the problem is ambank told me that their system will identify such transfer pattern and reject it as fresh fund. can anyone advise a work around? |

Thanks to people like I Am Not. Not everyone can be generous in sharing real info and some a quick to ask you to move on to another thread - which is true but its also ok to help out a little. This forum is still the best place for advise. Thanks.

QUOTE(Pain4UrsinZ @ Mar 17 2017, 10:43 AM) Can put if rate at loan is higher than FD but not as fluid as cash/FD if you need the funds urgently. If really excess fund, then ok to clear housing loan faster for sure. |

QUOTE(jimhorn @ Mar 22 2017, 03:33 PM) What does fresh fund mean usually? Some banks consider fresh fund as within the last 3 days, or some banks within 1-2 days. So depends on bank.If I were to remove let's say RM10k from PBB, how long do I have to wait only can put it back in and be considered as fresh fund? Is it the same concept/terms for fresh fund for every bank in Malaysia? |

QUOTE(rupart @ Apr 19 2017, 02:36 PM) dont u guys find it hassle to move $$ to diff banks (open acc when promo then close thereafter once promo finished) Therefore I only stick to those banks near by house or office so that convenient to place them over the counter. Like HLB good deal at 4.2% I pun tak ada masuk anything there cos no branch near me. Hehehe. Give and take la sometimes. Driving and parking also takes time to get there, so good deal to some may not be good deal to others.at any time if fresh 10k then u cud have like hlb cimb ocbc uob etc etc |

QUOTE(weilik @ Apr 27 2017, 02:06 PM) Hi, I did an FD upliftment in Maybank today due to maturation of FD. However, I was required to re-affirm with the teller my employer or whether I'm self employed as well as my position. Never been asked before. Re-affirm means just inform the teller verbally? Is that normal procedure? |

Maybe Im the odd one out because I prefer full interest upon maturity (usually 1 yr). At least can see lump sum money there. And maybe also my investment not like some here, ber million-million, hahaha.
