hi all im on unifi10mb line now...recently i received a marketting call to upgrade to 30mb line with additional rm 10.. new equipments (modem n tvbox) without contract.. told them i needed time to think

yesterday i call 100 and they told me the same thing except theres no equipment upgrade and tie down to 2 years contract...

is this the norm or fking tm ripping me off

In short, install ES File Explorer from Google Play Store and download your APKs from websites like APK Pure and save in thumb drive, navigate from ES File Explorer and install from there. That's all.
No hacking is required.

Manually install APKs as this box cannot install apps directly from Google Play. It is a very basic box but usable.

I thought you can access google playstore within the STB, one way is by enabling WLAN in the setting. Correct me if i'm wrong

Thats kinda very intensive but possible. You need a good router to do routing and data handling of those. If single pc, stock router can handle well

Tested on stock router(Tplink Archer C5), 1 pc 4k streaming + torrent downloading + 3 devices youtube 1080 streaming + 1 tvbox 1080 streaming, all using at the same time for few hours almost every night. The stock router handle very well.

Will give a try first, if not good then will get proper android box. Already downgraded my Astro package, from RM155 now will be paying RM85 only.

What settings for torrent 30mbps?

I can only got around 1.1mbps sometime 500kbps
On some  sites my download speed is not hitting 3.0mbps++ around 1mbps to 300kbps

tried to find 'things' to download to fully utilize the speed last night, 30Mbps can allow the download all the 'things' real fast.
cannot imagine if next year 50Mbps it will be even faster.
100Mbps is definitely good, just worry i cannot utilize fully which most of the time the usage is idle as download can be completed so fast. i may end up for the sake of fully utilizing the speed to keep on finding 'things' to download and my hardisk will be filled up real fast - first world problem.

now 10Mbps upload is also sufficient as I am not a content creator that always upload stuff. next year 20Mbps upload will be even more sufficient, 50Mbps i cannot benefit from it also.

most importantly, i am using it alone at my own house.  so it is really over-killed for me.

in addition, my 30Mbps plan is activated on 6 dec 2016, the upgrade to 50Mbps will be guaranteed (B & W) so no point to do extra thing to mess this up too. 

lastly, if i maintain the lowest price plan available, i can anticipate any good deal from TM marketing team anytime next time to upgrade further also (if any), even dun have, 50Mbps is certainly enough for the next few years for me one single user without the need to share to with anyone also. 

It feels more 'balanced' to pay TM the subscription below rm200 monthly also even though the extra rm50 is really not a big deal.
