QUOTE(klavgjoe @ Dec 29 2016, 03:18 PM) hi all im on unifi10mb line now...recently i received a marketting call to upgrade to 30mb line with additional rm 10.. new equipments (modem n tvbox) without contract.. told them i needed time to think marketing call normally gives better promo. u won't get the same promo normally at TM point or elsewhere. so if it is good deal, should just grab it. u are paying rm149 without GST for VIP10 now? rm159 for 30Mbps is ok deal actually. 3x speed but rm10 extra only.yesterday i call 100 and they told me the same thing except theres no equipment upgrade and tie down to 2 years contract... is this the norm or fking tm ripping me off QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 29 2016, 03:48 PM) https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3594298 Plenty of tips in this thread. cool. thanks for the tips... In short, install ES File Explorer from Google Play Store and download your APKs from websites like APK Pure and save in thumb drive, navigate from ES File Explorer and install from there. That's all. No hacking is required. Manually install APKs as this box cannot install apps directly from Google Play. It is a very basic box but usable. QUOTE(jasmeet21 @ Dec 29 2016, 03:53 PM) I thought you can access google playstore within the STB, one way is by enabling WLAN in the setting. Correct me if i'm wrong Can but not all apps can be installed directly like I mentioned above.http://voyager8.blogspot.my/2016/01/upgrad...et-top-box.html Basically just download ES File Explorer and you can install any apps you like. I am using it all the time but now downgraded to my spare box as I have bought a new and dedicated Android box. HyppTV box is a good and basic box. Storage and RAM are very little. QUOTE(Xefron @ Dec 29 2016, 03:54 PM) Yeah, read about it that day but unfortunately after new update to the app, it cannot be used anymore in HyppTV box. |

On 30Mbps i think the Kodi or other third party apps will utilize ur bandwidth but it depends on the content and quality that u stream. But 30Mbps is a considered a significant amount of bandwidth that for ur usage is more than sufficient one confirmed. |

Thats kinda very intensive but possible. You need a good router to do routing and data handling of those. If single pc, stock router can handle wellOn 30Mbps |

If single pc, stock router can handle well Tested on stock router(Tplink Archer C5), 1 pc 4k streaming + torrent downloading + 3 devices youtube 1080 streaming + 1 tvbox 1080 streaming, all using at the same time for few hours almost every night. The stock router handle very well. This post has been edited by calvinlaw510: Dec 29 2016, 05:39 PM |

QUOTE(Ivan Sac @ Dec 29 2016, 05:56 PM) Depend on what box you got. If it's old box Huawei EC2108E then you can forget about it, it only can run hypptv. If it's Huawei EC6106V5 or Huawei EC6106V8 then you can install android app on it, but for Huawei EC6106V5 you need to do some hacking 1st. Huawei EC6106V8 is include Google Play store, can install google app on the spot.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE(calk @ Dec 29 2016, 03:32 PM) This is what I got few minutes ago from TM/VADS:- I'm currently on VIP10 and was offered the same package by TM telemarketing staff. I told them I need to consider and I called 100 to confirm my interest in Advance30 package (RM159 excluding GST). They asked me to wait for 7 days before they make a final confirmation with me on the package. As per Tele-Conversation with my staff, please refer below attachment as our promotion that offered to you as references. |

I just went to tmpoint to terminate current VIP10 and apply ADV 30m.
Confirmed with TM point staff my home address is eligible for the free speed upgrade on Jan/feb 2017. I am still in doubt because my installation date is on 3/1/2017 due to fully booked on 30 and 31 december. I double confirmed again for the free speed upgrade because based on tnc in official tm website, must activate on latest 31 december 2016 to entitle for the free speed upgrade. But the staff told me their tm point was informed is based on SUBSCRIPTION date. She even double confirmed with her supervisor (behind the room). That is my story for today .hehe. QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 28 2016, 08:55 PM) tried to find 'things' to download to fully utilize the speed last night, 30Mbps can allow the download all the 'things' real fast. How do u get the the upgrade to 50Mbps will be guaranteed (B & W) ?cannot imagine if next year 50Mbps it will be even faster. 100Mbps is definitely good, just worry i cannot utilize fully which most of the time the usage is idle as download can be completed so fast. i may end up for the sake of fully utilizing the speed to keep on finding 'things' to download and my hardisk will be filled up real fast - first world problem. now 10Mbps upload is also sufficient as I am not a content creator that always upload stuff. next year 20Mbps upload will be even more sufficient, 50Mbps i cannot benefit from it also. most importantly, i am using it alone at my own house. in addition, my 30Mbps plan is activated on 6 dec 2016, the upgrade to 50Mbps will be guaranteed (B & W) so no point to do extra thing to mess this up too. lastly, if i maintain the lowest price plan available, i can anticipate any good deal from TM marketing team anytime next time to upgrade further also (if any), even dun have, 50Mbps is certainly enough for the next few years for me one single user without the need to share to with anyone also. It feels more 'balanced' to pay TM the subscription below rm200 monthly also even though the extra rm50 is really not a big deal. Black and White? |
