true, but first thing when i ask TM not the CS people, they ask me did i received the email from TM. If you get that email, you should be entitled for the free upgrade.

What I'm trying to say is, you should ask TM about this free upgrade if you still didn't get the email. Make sure you are included. Should there be any queue, you can be among the earliest. I was hoping that all should pay the same amount regardless of new/old customer. there shouldn't be any price different for the same package. but that's not gonna happen. if you keep quiet, you might be left out. this is standard for all the service provider in msia.
*
I asked for the surprise email, they said just wait. So God knows until when I should wait.

Why 30mbps got RM159... But no offer for 50mbps?
*
Because 30Mbps is the minimum speed these days.

Now I just sit down, relax and wait for free upgrade next year. biggrin.gif

Wow... Extra hidden charges arrise
*

Regarding the Unifi account password, can we change ourself after installation, or have to set when the technician is setting up?
*
It cannot be changed. So jot it down well.

Ehh..in OCC can change it right?
*
QUOTE(Sirmacai @ Dec 18 2016, 05:09 PM)
Who say cannot? I changed mine.
*
You mean the long password that used to login to UniFi account, used for router settings?
I thought that can't be changed? unsure.gif

I meant the UniFi service password, we cannot change it. In case, we forgot we will call TM to retrieve it. However, if using stock router can easily retrieve it. I have kept one well and can be retrieved anytime if I change router.

OCC UniFi password can easily change at OCC.

Ah, thanks

I was referring to that password for the service. I guess no security concern if not change the default password. unsure.gif
*
Everyone has different password and it's so long, I doubt anybody can remember. laugh.gif

I thought they said "Double the speed, half the price"?
*
Looks like at the moment, we can only see it's double the speed but not doing anything in halving the price.

QUOTE(christina1 @ Dec 19 2016, 11:01 AM)
Is 50mbps speed really important now ? Most ppl say 30mbps is more than enough for daily usage.
*
Important? laugh.gif
Of course nobody will deny more speed. Come on even 10Mbps is enough to many people. I'm using it all alone for myself, 30Mbps is sufficient for me but that doesn't mean I don't want to be upgraded to 50/100M. It's not the same for everyone, some will see the pricing first and various reasons. To me, though I can afford but I'm always not in the country, so wasted to pay additional when I'm not using it. So I will just welcome free upgrade to 50M since I will get it anyway. laugh.gif

For me..ya i agreed. Before this use VIP5 feels quite enough already & now use 30Mbps sure feels more than enough for my usage. 50Mbps & above might be overkill for me. Anyway..i sure grab the double speed offer..hehe thumbup.gif
*
I could feel the lag when I used 5Mbps in 2014, even when watching full HD shows on YouTube. When I first applied for UniFi, my intention was to get VIP10 but I know TM will call me in few months time for cheaper upgrade, so I tahan. laugh.gif I was right, in my 7th month of usage they called me to offer me VIP10 with RM 20 discount. Then upgraded to 30Mbps again during its soft launch last year. I have been paying the same amount as my VIP10 since then for Advance 30, why not? Now free upgrade lagi, saya takkan say no. laugh.gif No such thing as overkill for me. laugh.gif

QUOTE(frozenslayer @ Dec 19 2016, 08:51 PM)
hey guys , quick question. I have been using 30mbps for more than a year now. In terms of download speed , I should hit around 3.4-3.6mb/s or somewhere around there right? I been noticing that my max has been around 2.4-2.8mb/s since for awhile now. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!
*
LAN or WiFi? Torrent or direct download? How about speed test result?

QUOTE(christina1 @ Dec 19 2016, 08:56 PM)
50Mbps speed can download 19.1GB per hour...459.0GB per day and 13.7TB per month ....More than enough for usage...
*
Not everyone downloads and can be measured in such way. sweat.gif
