i got a feeling that overheating might cause very obvious sound degradation. to me, listening to music during hot day is not the same during the cool and quiet night...

maybe it's just me again..tongue.gif

No, I don't think its heat related, and the volume control is amusing. I didn't find in any way that the volume control does affect the DSP temperature

Maybe its just you. Well in hot weather we tend to have higher heart rate, sweaty that makes me feels uncomfortable and this will makes a big difference when listening to music. Although transistors and electronics do work better at low temperature, but there is a lot of factor to put in the equation too, unless someone do testing these things

I studied before in physics i guess, everything seems to be louder during night time, don't know what causes it but it is somehow related to the temperature of the air...

Air is denser when cold so soundwaves travel faster when cold, and during night time have lower noise floor than day (depends on places)

all these physics talk makes me blur d...hahaha...

forget physics, listening music at night is always the most enjoyable moment, regardless whether soundwaves travel faster/slower with denser/less denser air...

Well, you started it, as a science student I applied what I studied to whatever you saying. Its not rocket science or anything, more to common sense than anything rolleyes.gif

sigh~ me also an electronics/tele major, and yet i dare not mod my xfi or any other electronics hardware that involves my hard earned money. sweat.gif I know the risks of replacing caps and transistors, one small mistakes can cause big catastrophe!!! and then it's all trouble shooting again... doh.gif

That's because you never listen to anything better rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Honestly I never listen to how Elite Pro sounds, but I'm worried about crappy Creative drivers if I'm buying it. And why do you hide your speaker.... laugh.gif

Oh I see. It doesn't hurt to tell what kind of speaker you use, may I know it. If not you can PM me tongue.gif

Well, I never heard how Cirrus DAC sounds like so I can't guess what kind of speaker should match it
