can i join X-Fi club too? just got myself a 2nd hand Xtreme Music.

anyway, i'm just wondering, what are the best settings for music listening? Here's what I've done:
1. enabled 24-bit crytalizer.
2. enabled CMSS 3dvirtual (should i enable this? mine speaker is a 2.1)
3. for now, the EQ mode is "flat", but i tune my EQ in my Winamp setting... (should I do the opposite?)

the rest is still in default mode. ok, what else should i be doing if i wanna fully utilize X-Fi power for music?

different media player gives different sound quality? mmm...that's new to me.

by the way, i cant find any connection for standard casing front panel audio out on my xtreme music.... how do u guys go around with this problem?

guys, how are u all enjoying your X-Fi? i realized that X-Fi cant handle rock music that well, especially with a lot electric guitar distortion. I'm not sure whether it's my speaker or my settings... anyway, i'm still using AL ACS45.1 ... damn old, i know..

errr...to me, xtreme music can't handle electric guitar distortion well.. it sounds messy

any of u guys have this experience?

the treble sounds too crisp sometimes... especially for rock music, the electric distortion really fail la...sounds really flat, like the sounds all jumbled up together, can't really differentiate the guitar source.

for pop music, so far ok.. but too crisp at time.

how much % did you put for crystalizer? or ON/OFF CMSS-3D?

I think the music quality of fatal1ty and xtreme music should be the same... I'm thinking of getting AegoM also..

how's Aego M when playing heavy guitar riff music??

i'm now looking into Aego M. But the price is higher than what i'm targeting...i've a few alternative choices now.

1. Logitech z 2300
2. Altec lansing MX5021
3. Edifier ??? (any recomendation?)

so what's the cheapest price for AegoM now? I saw one forumer is selling for <RM700... LYP is selling around RM790..

anyone here pairing X-Fi with Altec Lansing Fx6021 ?

I'm still looking for speakers to replace my old AL ACS45.1

but it seems that the new batch of MX5021 is a cut cost version... not sure whether it's true or not.

and AegoM, yes, it's crisp and the clarity is superb but i listen to some of my heavy guitar distortion songs, it doesnt sound that good.. but Diana Krall and other Jazzy songs...fuiyoh..nice..

i might go test out both MX5021 and Fx6021 by myself soon...but i doubt that it will make any good impression as LYP always too noisy to test out the speakers.

i think Creative modified the Audio console for Xtreme audio since it's not using the actual X-Fi chip.

why dun you try modifying your bass and treble physically through your speaker set?

be really careful when upgrading the newest driver for X-fi.... the new driver includes firmware too... if not careful, it will ruin your hardware when upgrading... REALLY STOP ALL THE APPLICATION RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND...

guys...do you turn on your 24bit crystalizer?

I just changed my speakers to AegoM and crystalizer is just too harsh, even on minimum settings. High and low really are too exaggerated, especially the high, till ear piercing...

now i turn it off..but it's not as punchy as b4...

mmm...not sure bout that...the old ones doesn't have heatsink. the new ones do. Old one more energy efficient and produce less heat?

anyway, i just read a few days ago, newer x-fi, they reduced the problems with clipping,cracking sound.

OC the soundcard? this is new to me...

no la..ppl change Opamp to improve the sound signature, not OC..

ya i turned off crystalizer completely. I think if you have good speakers, crystalizer just makes the sound even worse..

now, my music sounds warmer and more realistic without the occasional ear piercing sound and exaggerated lows.

very nice experiment! wah...i can't believe Creative got away claiming their crystalizer "restore" back the quality lost quality. maybe this is true to certain extend with lower bitrate mp3s or lower end speakers..
