No no, sell it to me. I'll make the best out of it Anyway, this is off topic so I want to get back to it. I wonder for those who uses Elite Pro, what kind of speaker you pairing it with?

It depends with your setup, and your ear too. It benefit more on lossy codec like mp3 rather than lossless, as it increased the impact on low and high frequency
Look here for what it done to frequency spectrum ![]() |

The mp3's is a bit crispier and nicer to listen with some Crytalizer turned on. I guess it's more of personal preference but anything above 50% makes the music sounds weird though.
Btw, do we really need to plug in the extra power for the X-Fi Elite Pro? I can run without the extra power now. |

QUOTE(Deerc @ May 11 2008, 01:52 AM) The review says it's needed to power the card since standard PCI slot doesn't provide enough power. However the review was done in 2005 so perhaps motherboards which are available today no longer have such problems |

If you asked me, all these are useless. If you want the best quality, buy original CD and rip them to lossless. If you don't have much money, try to look for lossless onlinei am on edifier s530d.. |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Mar 29 2008, 06:57 AM) just depends on the speaker used...below i do a simple test by using RMAA 6.0.6 to compare the Crystallizer function and the EQ and Bass/Treble knob... This post has been edited by coolkwc: May 11 2008, 11:40 AM1. Frequency Respond Curve between Crystalizer, EQ and Bass/Treble knob... EQ setting to simulate 50% crystalizer level Bass 60%/Treble 58% to simulate 50% crystalizer level So, crystalizer is just the function that can simply simulated by using EQ and Bass/Treble knob... |

If you don't mind OEM stuffs, you can get the Fatality from Garage Sales. I think that's more worth it
