Hey guys.. just bought a xfi titanium sc OEM. messed around with settings to get the sound to my likings. and i seriously must say i love the sound produced by it.. even my RM60 crappy logitech headphones sounded so much nicer. Solid bass, and treble, vocal clarity. all is above average. played cs source with getting alchemy force EAX on it, sounds so so different. here's a question, do u guys think it's worth it to get a sennheiser HD600 for this sound card? very tempted get it.

QUOTE(MechaHerc @ Mar 31 2009, 02:23 PM) guys, regarding Dolby n DTS thingy.. i still blur2 about this.. lets say i buy 5.1 speaker with THX cerification fo eg: Creative G500, then i plugin to my X-fi titanium (this one support Dolby@DTS thingy izzit..?) so i put my DVD (ori DVD with DTS@Dolby sound) so my setup there can consider support dolby@dts effect? OR x-fi titanium --> DDTS 100 --> G500 speaker? bring up my post, guys

I bought my X-Fi Titanium Fatality Pro PCIe from Singapore. Using it with Aego M at the moment. i like the entertainment mode, but dislike the game mode....
Alchemy work with none of the games. Kinda dissapointed though.

Fellow X-Fi users, may I know if any of you are previous users of a Realtek ALC889A onboard audio? Is there any major improvements in terms of sound quality in music/movies? I'm currently tempted to get one of those OEM Titaniums from Garage Sales, but this review is giving me doubts: http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-373-2.htmThe last time I made a switch from an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro to this ALC889A, I immediately find the sound muffled and... Well... Terrible I would have stick with the A2 if not for the lousy Creative driver/software support in Vista. Thanks!

RMAA doesn't shows how it sounds like, I have tested ALC888 vs X-Fi, the Realtek is not even at the same league as the X-Fi. DAC, capacitor quality, opamp and DSP is what matters in sound quality in music. About movies, well, maybe coolkwc can answer that as I don't bother with movies, I just game and listening to music

My onboard soundcard, dunno wat its called, i'm using a Asus P5N-D. The sound is horrible compared to my older Audigy ES.
X-Fi > Audigy ES > *Any soundcard* > On board = This is from my experiences and soundcards which i've owned.

Dear all,
Looking to upgrade my current Audigy 1 card. Main usage is only music and sometimes movies. No gaming though. Among the cards below, which one is more suitable?
1) PCI Express X-Fi Titanium OEM (new, RM200)
2) X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 (used, RM180)
3) Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS (used, RM100)
Thanks

Audigy2 ZS used old chipset and the old resampling problem will plague the SQ of the songs. Yu won't waste the sound card even you don't play game.

That's right, furthermore, X-Fi Titanium is just X-Fi on PCIe bus. One thing is, why choose X-Fi if you don't game? For pure music, there is a lot of better cards out there aimed for simply that, like Audiotrak cards

I think you can't get new Audiotrak for less than RM200. maybe you can find the 2nd hand one...otherwise PCI Express X-Fi Titanium OEM (new, RM200) is a good choice.

Do you plan to modify it ? At least swap the caps if you don wanna risk changing the opamp, which is quite risky i reckon with normal solder gun

Is EAX still relevant?? I know the latest is EAX5.0, during Windows XP era many game have feature of EAX in the game sound setting..but new game nowaday all i see is Dolby Surround which is built in the game instead of EAX hardware acceleration.

hey all, need little help here, i am selling my surround 5.1 usb so i can upgrade for better one. since my desktop got some issue with usb thing.
anyway, im in singapore now, and let me tell u the x-fi cards im offered in forums.
x-fi xtreme audio - new 80sgd x-fi titanium pcie - 90-110 sgd (2nd) x-fi titanium fatality pro - 150 sgd (2nd)
all got warranty until end of this year. and i use it for music and movies. no gaming, since my desktop using integrated graphic card.
so which one u'll say is best bang for bucks? i dont expect significant upgrade from my x-fi usb 5.1, but the price for upgrading must not be so high. thanks.
