Hi everyone d-_-b

new creative x-fi titanium 'bass-ing' around...
Actually bought it two weeks ago, n it's fantastic  drool.gif

Just one drawback, currently doesn't support my audio front panel - which for AC '97.
X-fi titanium only support Intel HD front panel..
icon_question.gif  Anyone had any idea on how can I get that panel??? Or any casing with Intel HD front panel?
*
if u buy a casing with intel front panel, the plug (2x5) can be just connected to your x-fi and u can enjoy having front plug.

Yeah, but don't know which one.. Some casing will state that front panel that they support both AC'97 and intel-compatible HD.. But, from what I understand, it is only 'intel-compatible' not like genuine Intel HD front header. Both of them have 2x5 plug, but different pins for difference purpose.
At least that what stated in Creative website:
Creative FAQ on audio front panel

Currently I used audio splitter to connect both my speaker and headphone at the same time. doh.gif
Owh, by the way, I'm just using PowerLogic Azzura 2000. -> Still planning on changing for a new one...

Care to share which casing has a 'true' Intel HD front panel, or maybe we can just change the front panel? blush.gif

Hi guys,

I previously used the Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic and it was quite alright.

Currently I am using Asus Xonar DX2, I can say that this is a lot better for both gaming and movies. The sound effects from Xonar is a lot clearer, crisp and less boomy compared to X-Fi XtremeMusic.

Also the software that comes with Xonar is less demanding yet have more features when compared to X-Fi's offerings.

Just my 2 cents.

X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro is the 'downgrade' version of X-Fi Fatal1ty, don't cheated by the word of 'pro'. it doesn't support hardware DD/DTS decoding like X-Fi Fatal1ty, check this list. other than this, the sound quality and performance are totally equal, and both are 64MB X-RAM.

anyway, you won't find X-Fi Fatal1ty anymore.

in the casing you buy, there are front audio panel board.
the board (inside) has some connector that is usually connected to the mainboard.

just remove that from the mainboard and connect to the new x-fi

wanna share with those using digital output,on thier x-fi,

it sux, especially for user like me, i wanna use digital output via spdif, but dont wanna sacrifice pure 5.1 surround effects on gaming with eax, open al or direct 3d sound,

with DD live or dts connect , xfi encodes the 5.1 sound into either one digital format and output to your amp, hence get back the 5.1 pure surround sound , in gaming. yay~~

just how? well there are custom driver hack but u have to google those, i tried it wont work on new drivers, so i end up paying for it, and viol i restore gaming in pc with surround sound yay...

thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

with the older x-fi models like mine, x-fi extreme music, fatallity ,etc (even older gen audigy are possible)

Dobly digital live and DTS connect are missing in these card's console panel, the function are available via hardware , its just driver locked,

apart from those pcie series which given the function free, older series have u purchase a key via online to unlock a it in the driver.

good thing is , it cost only USD4.72

guys, regarding Dolby n DTS thingy.. i still blur2 about this..

lets say i buy 5.1 speaker with THX cerification fo eg: Creative G500, then i plugin to my X-fi titanium (this one support Dolby@DTS thingy izzit..?) so i put my DVD (ori DVD with DTS@Dolby sound)

so my setup there can consider support dolby@dts effect?

OR

x-fi titanium --> DDTS 100 --> G500 speaker?

Bought an X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty[just to share my thought]

1st thought:
Drivers sux - for vista
took some time to get it right

Pros:
-Really pawns the onboard... =.='
-With Altec Lansing VS4121
Imagine a crappy Altec VS4121's bass improved, become more powerful and solid.
Trebble become more sharp and detailed, thanks to Crystallyzer
Positioning is much much more better with THX Console

-With Sonic Gear Armegeddon
Improved bass, become more solid and audible
Trebble is great
the only let down is the mids due to 2.5" mid units a little tweeking in the equallizer solved the problem

-With Edifier S4.1
Strong solid bass, have reduce the Subwoofer Volume
Trebble improved, [S4.1 has very bad tweeter]
The sound is noticibly "louder" compared to onboard
Positioning improved [not bad since S4.1 is not THX Certified]
I appreciate the Virtual centre Speaker

-With JBL Home Theartre System
The soundcard output power is too much for the AMP [computer volume have to reduce to 7%]
Nice crystal clear sound, Perfect positioning with true 5.1 RM10K system [tested with Band of Brothers]
Stunning Bass response
All software effects on the console are disabled to deliver realistic sound [crystallyzer/eq/bass boost]

Cons:
-Drivers are a bit headache

My thought:
-RM270 for this piece of thing [new] is more than worth
