VGN-FE45G/W user here. Just wanna ask whoever got the audio driver (SigmaTel C-Major Audio) driver for WINDOWS XP. I got this machine with preloaded Vista Home Premium and i've done this dual booting operation since Vista really consume high resource. So, i opt to install XP Pro, sadly no audio driver available. I've google -ed it like "24/7" yet, can't solve.

Talking bout new models in asia and other continents, is it possible to get a vaio through the other continent's website? Cause malaysia's one does not offer the customization option and US one does.

Hi misbehave,
If budget is not an issue, then the Vaio C25 (or any other Vaio) is probably the coolest looking laptop on the market now. Your applications should be handled by it, no problem.

hmm...weird thing happening to my Vaio.

i can't detect any new wifi connections, even though the network icon on my taskbar says that "wireless networks are available". when i click that, the "connect to a network" window appears, but it says "Windows cannot find any network". I can still manage to connect to my previous wifi connections that i have saved up and set to automatcially connect when they r available...but i can't detect/add new ones.

i'm afraid some of the Vista updates from Microsoft have screwed up my wireless. sweat.gif

try reboot again your lappy.
i have this problem before in Vista, but manage to solve it by rebooting and edit the wireless entry.

another way to solve this is, setting up first the wifi connection first by:

Network -> Network and Sharing Centre -> Manage Wireless Network -> Click "Add" , the rest edit yourself.

if you appear to have " This software is not for your VAIO system" something like not compatible, it's compatible actually. try read my previous post somewhere in this thread to overcome the series checker.

im not sure if your succeed or not, but i have try the method, it's succeed to bypass the lousy sony version verification. wink.gif

i've restarted it many many times...but it's still the same.

it's really very troublesome, especially when i'm in a hotspot and i can't even detect it.

funny thing is my lappy can still detect the hotspots. it'll display on the taskbar bubble that "wireless networks are available". but when i click the bubble, the "connect to a network" window pops up and it says "windows cannot find any additional networks...and my wireless connection list is empty. unsure.gif

i'm not sure what else to do, but thanks for the help anyway. notworthy.gif

which software would you remove from your vaio to avoid it being slowed? And how do you uninstall it?
