jason, if you're in mid valley, try House of Notebooks too... they are authorised Vaio dealer too... and if you're nice, they give good bundles.
Looks like SZ still selling very well huh.

How was their service? 4 months ago maybe. Very good service. Why shouldn't be trusted lah? Another friend bought her Fujitsu Lifebook from there about a year ago. Had problems... was rectified immediately, no questions asked. She was the one recommended me to that shop... have to agree much better service than Sony Style stores then. My experience with them... I went to KLCC, a young guy served me but was pretty arrogant when I asked one too many questions... like I can't afford to buy... so I decided not to buy from them. |

I'm just wondering whether SOny will give you a factory sealed notebook if you buy a new one like they do in the UK/US? Nothing irks me more than new gadgets that have been tampered with/touched.
I'm anally retentive like that, but when i buy new stuff, i want it to be completely new. Some shops sell you out-of-box products as new when they technically are not. |

verticalforce, for a vaio (well mine in particular) when you get it out of the box, everything (battery, ac adaptor etc) is shrink wrapped, and there's a nice packing between the keyboard and the closed LCD. Then when you switch it on for the first time, there're some details to fill up (Vaio 1st time user or something), before setting windows up. If that isn't factory new, then I don't know what is!!!

a new Vaio needs to go through a setup phase b4 u can use it. if u load into Windows immediately after u turn it on the first time, then it's not factory sealed.

Have anyone order the Vista Upgrade from Sony? It is taking me forever. I been ordering since last month. But I just get the proof verification like a week ago. And I had been emailing them so many time. It is not like I'm really impatient, just that I'm wondering for the status of the delivery. And they (Sony) did not reply even once. I'm pretty disappointed with Sony service (specifically the Vista Upgrade management)...

deed, why bother with vista upgrade
Question for SZ owners, do you set the fan speed to Adaptive? I've been running some heavy number crunching software and found that the adaptive fan is pretty cool in that it adjusts the speed when heavy CPU loading occurs (can see from Task Man)... but I found that after running for 3-4 hours, the bottom left hand corner of the laptop gets pretty warm.... any reason for concern. Should I leave the fan setting at Level 4-5? |

I'd guessed as much that the HDD was there!!! Anyway, I'll leave it at adaptive for the time being!
