This is not an entirely accurate assumption.

The rule of thumb for all vehicle manufacturers is that any 3rd party installations which causes problems with the car or its associated parts will result in that part / damage not being covered by the manufacturers warranty. This is a general clause to protect the vehicle manufacturer but even then it will need to be proven that the 3rd party add on did in fact cause the problem.

Window tints rarely cause any issues unless its too thick / heavy and damages the power window motor in the long run. Branded tints will not cause any such problems.

So for tints, I would say its perfectly alright to have it installed by a 3rd party authorised dealer.

Sorry for later reply.

Actually can fix yourself. Just Philip screwdriver will do. The filter is lifetime and improves acceleration. HP only gives extra 1HP.

If you want more, go for Cold Air Injection or Short Ram. Those give max 5% HP

Thanks Bro. Will look see look see around Melaka

im wonder should i do tinted in manufacture or outside? anyone please recommend me? nod.gif

Mine by Honda/Ecotint.nothing to shout about. Paid between 2.5 to 3k. Too excited about the new car so I did not do comparison and ok to everything to SA said. Workmanship nothing to shout about.

My window and rear was totally redone by Ecotint after a few months due to some sort of fungal thingy. I think I uploaded the photo here before.

I keep the smart tag in the glovebox. Only take it out when I am close to the toll and hold it up against the windshield, before putting it back into the glovebox. Then again, I live in JB, and only go through the toll once in a blue moon tongue.gif

Actually very subjective and based on individual case. If replacement cost too heavy for them don't be surprised they might use this as an issue. Simple example is changing rims, eventhough same size as factory set can void your brake system warranty. Some can lepas.

Subjective.

Guys, off topic abit.

If lets say trade in car to Honda to buy Civic, normally the NCB transfer is done by the SA? Or we need to do it ourself?

Thanks!

NCB is automatically transferred as long as previous vehicle is under your name and no claim issues.

NCB transfer can be done by your SA if you are buying Honda Insurance for your new Civic. In case where you prefer to buy insurance other than HIP (such as Etiqa, Kurnia and etc), you may have to transfer by your own.

Actually NCB is tied to the individual and not the car or any particular insurance company. So you can buy Etiqa this year and Kurnia the next, you still get the same discount as they share the same database.

Rims is a totally different thing altogether. Rims are designed based on the specific vehicle's suspension, brake and loading. Its a key structural item which has a direct impact on the performance and stability of the car. That's why we shouldn't simply change / upgrade our rims. Its not there just to make your tyres look good.

I didn't mean a court case to prove anything. Proof in this case is a logical explanation as to how that 3rd party accessory caused the problem. No car manufacturer is going to simply void warranty just to shift blame without reason.

If,

U fit unauthorised 'parts', its already 'reason' to void warranty.. whether they void it or not boils down to Customer Service..
There is a reason why the SA's threaten us wif unauthorised 'tints'..
But enough to say, you can try fitting an unauthorised tint .. bottom line is you will be the one facing everything..
