Hey guys. I hear harsh (grinding) sound during cold start. Once warmed up is sounds ok. Is that normal? (Need to keep door open to hear)

QUOTE(isr25 @ Nov 23 2016, 03:58 PM) Well... to be fair to HM, the guy posted on Sunday (Monday in Malaysia) on this info and had only replaced it a week earlier. So let's just bug Honda Malaysia with this new information - probably there will be a recall to replace those solenoids anyway since it's a prevalent issue on all TC engines. Wah!! Means must drop the transmission ??!! 2 months car... |

QUOTE(babyblue89 @ Nov 23 2016, 05:59 PM) today i sent my car services at honda bangi. i did a complain when i drive above 80km/h i can heard strong wind from passenger side. I think SC team go eat the famous banana leaf rice in Seremban So after that, i collected my car mileage is from 10,050km(original mileage sent in) to 10,190km which approximately different 150km. Do u guys think is reasonable that SC can test my car until the mileage so huge different ? |

QUOTE(rayhvs @ Nov 29 2016, 08:31 AM) Guys thanks for the feedback. I have actually place booking for civic, but i have yet to decide to go for 1.8 or 1.5. Personally like the 1.5tc spec but worry about the maintenance later. Does 1.5 cost alot problem to u all? Definitely 1.5 hands down if got extra cash. I swap mine with my friends 1.8 for test drive, difference in power is very obvious. But only thing is for some reason his 1.8 seem a bit quieter than mine. However, he did not regret choosing the 1.8 due the price difference. I drove to JB from Melaka over the weekend. Did not realize i was going 170+. Music gets louder when you speed so you don't realize the wind noise and speed until next song change Problems I had with my TCP: 1. Engine grinding during cold start 2. Front bumper gap big (but ok according to HM standard) 3. Back boot doesn't close if you slam hard. It beeps and opens back. HM will look into this on my next visit. they said will change change boot lock mechanism. 4. In general Honda maintenance cost is not cheap This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Nov 29 2016, 12:31 PM |

QUOTE(Sawamura @ Jan 20 2017, 12:00 PM) Yes bro.. exactly like that. True that. Mine, wind noise if above 130kmh. Normally if music on you wont notice that much due to volume auto increase when you speed. Only different is i got mine installed in shop in shah alam instead Wow.. 50kmh can hear wind noise. If it ia really wind noise (not tyre noise), you better have a check. Mine under 100 only need to deal with tyre noise, but no wind noise at all Unfortunately tyre noise all the way no matter fast or slow |

QUOTE(ashotiwoth @ Jan 19 2017, 10:11 PM) been driving >110kmh (closer to 140kmh Wind noise for Civic not good on high speed compared to Altis but obviously better than City. Tyre noise is terrible. My personal opinion. As far as drive is concern FC beats hands down. This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Jan 20 2017, 04:21 PM |

QUOTE(Sawamura @ Jan 20 2017, 04:20 PM) I dont want to waste stock tyre so probably use it until my next tyre.. slap in with new 17" all the way Next round I will change to Michelin. It's generally quieter at least while its still new. But once it wears down and hardens, noise will be the same on all brands. All options considered Civic is still worth its price in terms of drive and safety.Next change i will choose tyre that can help reduce the tyre noise Until then, this level of Noise is not really my nuisance, being upgraded from small kelisa before This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Jan 20 2017, 04:31 PM |

QUOTE(DM3 @ Jan 20 2017, 04:43 PM) Hehe... Individual preference i guess. But I regularly drive both 9th Accord and Altis long distance. Altis is less responsive and feels like an old mans car but comfort wise is better than Civic. Accord is a different class altogether so i wont even compare. This is my personal opinion. This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Jan 20 2017, 04:51 PM |

QUOTE(SackBoy @ Jan 20 2017, 04:48 PM) Someone already posted before, but here u go This may help wind noise, i would want it to get it too. [attachmentid=8423322] image taken from shorty FB. Someone mentioned it has significant improvement, but i want to ask for review in regard on this tyre noise matter. edit: FB source shorty5 Tyre noise is vibration that travels through the body so door and window protection doesn't help most of the time. |

QUOTE(SackBoy @ Jan 20 2017, 04:57 PM) Yalo, my guess is like u, but maybe we might be wrong, the rubber seal improves significantly on tyre noise too? I am driving up to Klang this Sunday to do the rubber seal at Shorty's. Its RM230 for all 4 doors. I let you know if there is a difference during my drive back to Melaka |
