From now until end of Dec 2016, no need for certified device, as long as LTE Band 5 is ok for 4G.

webe is WIRELESS/MOBILE broadband service; not wired broadband. Go figure...

It's performance is negatively affected by surrounding interferences. Quote:

Booster might help to mitigate the issues... a little bit...

Summore, P2P or torrent is pathetic, unless God Mode...

Conclusion:
webe + booster + God Mode = Unifi "Light" Version...(With RM500 bill shock & myKad blacklisted at CTOS in mind...LOL...)

Webe formerly called P1 own by TM run with LTE 850mhz (band 5) network, and it has roaming 2G/3G agreement with celcom. You will need to have certified Band 5 device to run Webe LTE network.

Network Code : 50211 TMgo/Webe
Certified device By WEBE
*
P1 broadband still exist and P1 user never automagicly become webe user. P1 is the plan not the company blink.gif

Depends on location and your type of use. If travelling around seems their 4G not as stable. For me I leave my phone in my office whereby coverage is good & it is excellent.

Kluang got webe.. But strange  distribution.... Centre of kluang lte not strong.. But peripheral area.. Lte so good... Even can get 15-20mbps..
This one i get in simpang rengam... 20km from kluang.

It's because Webe uses TMGo's LTE infra, which was originally conceived to cover the areas not covered by TM's streamyx and UniFi. That's why you can see Webe's LTE at some ulu ulu places. Here in Sarawak, Bintulu, one of the largest towns has no LTE. But you can see LTE at some of the longhouses and smaller towns

I could not find how to apply for the 2nd or 3rd or 4th or 5th line option at Webe's website. Are we still going to be charge for the down payment?

For those who wanna change to webe at Damansara perdana or Kota damansara area please think twice.

This 2 places are highly congested with ppl using webe right now. Having hard time getting past 1mbps from speed test using fast.com

Why having unlimited data when you can't even browse the net smoothly?

I oso encounter same, put in s7 edge slow, put in redmi note 3 pro very fast, both certified device.....if put at mi max only able to get h+ signal( due to not certified device maybe)..... overall both xiaomi phone speed faster than s7 edge even mi max at 3g outspeed s7 edge 4g webe.

Not sure is coincidence or not too.....test several time at several location when 1st received the webe sim.now stick to redmi note 3 pro coz most of the time can detect webe 4g signal and download at avg speed 5mbps above...

Hi guys,

May I know what SIM size webe give? Already ordered mine. Currently using xperia v and if i not mistake, this phone support webe LTE band.

Actually i want to use It with usb dongle. Just curious about SIM size. If micro or nano SIM, then I cant put It in my usb dongle. The dongle only support 3G.

I read from other source, webe can be use with TmGo usb dongle. Hopefully someone can confirm about it.

No extra charge & not sure about this can be consider as USB tethering or not since no SMS option for my Mobile Partner dashboard.
My area 3G connection is extremely bad.
Switch back to LTE(phone mode).

what are the available usb dongle for use with webe mobile plan?

and no, i'm not referring to mifi/router with bypass tethering.

nearest would be tmgo's usb dongle but this unit (D-Link DWM-221, modified for TMgo) is almost non-existent.

just simple usb dongle to plug into laptop.

nearest would be tmgo's usb dongle but this unit (D-Link DWM-221, modified for TMgo) is almost non-existent.
just simple usb dongle to plug into laptop.

Based on both product specification sheets, those dongle support band 5. Only for single pc use and not for tethering/wifi hotspot.

PS: Don't ask silly question to me if I'm using this or confirm it working.

Don't be a fool to take Webe, my friend just purchase the RM79 unlimited data(konon) - there is a hidden stuff behind it, when trying to load up stuff like youtube, social network and surfing the web the connection is very slow.

Found out the speed its capped at 79kb/sec only..

By this defination it is not:
Android USB Tethering. ... Tethering means sharing the Internet connection of an Internet-capable mobile phone with other devices. This sharing can be offered over a wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), or over Bluetooth, or by physical connection using a cable.

correct me if i'm wrong , the quota is unlimited but the speed is cap to around 2 ~ 3 mbps only for all google services including Youtube & Playstore. stream 480p should be no problem , but if stream a 720p or 1080p movie, expect some buffering.

but even with 3mbps internet on the smartphone, its more than enough for me.

Want to ask about actual user experience in KL/Selangor area.

Learnt my lesson when subscribing Yes mobile plan:
1. "voice call" is actually VoLTE which is super draining battery.
2. LTE reception non-existent in shopping malls and office buildings. At home it is good indoors.

Hope Webe is not the same. Anyone can input on Webe for (1) and (2)? Thanks!

1. I believe webe voice call is actually Celcom 2G/3G. Not VoLTE yet.
2. If don't have webe 4G LTE, the network will fall back to Celcom 3G.

May I know if I am able to use Webe plan on my PC computer via my Mifi (specific model Huawei 5577s-321, i believe with 850mhz band support) through the USB connection (not wifi)?

how's the coverage on both 4g and 3g areas?

Because the device itself is already a mifi. Once you place the sim card into a mifi, webe considered it as tethering whether you are actually doing it or not.

i see. i did a bit of searching at the v2 thread, and someone suggested that this mifi (which is also bundled with tmgo) works if connected via usb connection

You have to understand that TMGo doesn't restrict tethering but Webe does.

why is there concern on network congestion? why don't other telcos face the issue? i believe maxis, celcom, digi, umobile etc.. have bigger costumers but i don't hear anything about network congestion. is this even a legit consideration? Just asking innocent.gif

Throttled at 9:47pm...? Perhaps....

Before 1st Nov, was above 2Mbps... Now, more webe SIM cards are distributed hence bandwidth distribution deteriorated...perhaps too...

But why throttled below Dial-up Modem days...?

It is not fake, speedtest uses local route in Malaysia to test your network speed. But Fast.net uses international route to test your network speed. Both Speedtest and Fast.net result are accurate.

But in Malaysia our internet traffic comes from international route from USA and other countries. Most streaming and websites contents comes form outside our country.

if you are doing business offering unlimited, for sure dont want whole kampung share la laugh.gif

point is, webe mobile is not target for sharing. they are targeting individual using mobile.

problem with this strategy is, nowadays everyone is on multi-screen, multi-devices.

most of us uses Fast.net speed test because it's more accurate..

the server uses foreign one instead of local.. since most of the website is foreign based one. it's more better to use Fast.net

They should have a different quota for tethering. Say, 5GB maybe? Sometimes we need to tether in case the office or home fixed line is down

Bro, check with previous telco before ported to tune talk. I had my experience once when i had with digi when i port to maxis. It has the balance of average charges before the next billing cycle.

You try Google your modem connection manager, download and install. See it how. Mine using ZTE need to download driver for Windows and then connection manager software.

I am trying to find, but supporting software/driver seems to be from 3rd-party and not ZTE itself, in fact not even listed in ZTE websites, there is one for TelecomNewZealand but scared it is customised.

BTW how to checked if a usb-modem is locked for MaxisBB only, n how to unlock?

Got throttle? How come watching youtube on my phone can reach 1080p. Not to mention HD on Kodi. No buffering. Very smooth.

Guys, how about Facebook Live using our phone? Also capped to 2Mbps?

Note: In this case we do FB Live streaming from the FB apps (upload).

Do you ever refer or read anything at webe official website first before asking here. Stated clearly original price is RM199.Now RM79 before GST.

just need to verify bro smile.gif coz their website support page > discount label still stated what i said earlier:

> Yes. You are entitled to discount on your monthly bill as long as you are an active TM or P1 broadband subscriber. Please ensure your TM or P1 account is registered under your NRIC.

> Certified phone discount is a discount reflected in your monthly bill if you are using a webe recommended device which has been certified to work best on our network ( refer to the list of recommended phones here)

I took the webe SIM balik kampung with me. When i put It in my phone, It shown full HSPA signal but i can only manage to browse 2 web page. After that, stuck at loading. Felt like gprs speed.

At my house in Sg Petani, on 3g speed the highest I can reach was 5. mb. But at night, before 12 midnight...average 3 mb. Sometimes when it not stable, It can go low around 0.3-0.5 mb.

Anyone using IMPORTED Redmi Note 3 Pro? Model no. 2015112.

I wonder if it got LTE with webe or not?
Because some websites show that it has band 5, but other websites show no band 5.

You should be able to connect to band 5 LTE as this model does support band 5. I guess you are confused with the Redmi Note 3 Mediatek Processor variant as it doesn't support band 5 LTE.

and you know what speedtest.net is sucks use fast.com please
*
Speedtest.net receive the data and result from local server. But fast.com setup their server on USA so the speed will be slow. Do you know that ISP has to pay for the data that you use when you are connected to USA? The ISP must has best international routing if they want to provide the best speed to their customer when their customer is connected to USA server. Currently only UniFi can do that. Even TIME fiber also has a limited speed when the users are connecting to USA server and it is around 70Mbps (for 100Mbps users). Unless the ISP is rich or they have the demand to improve their interntional routing and pay for the data that its users use in USA. If not the speed they can provide to the users will be slow.

For a giant telco like TM, always promoting "let your fingers do d walking", is damn inefficient n manned by incompletant staffs. Letting customers running around looking for TMGO package. Even their Menara TM doesn't keep stock but still CS said otherwise. Running their biz like a oldtime sundry shop. Typical GLC.
Anyway after testing webe for two weeks, it sucks at the two places I spend most of the time, home n office. Speed very inconsistent, at best 3Mbps but mostly below 1Mbps. Now considering switching to other mobile broadband.

The way they run Webe is also a total failure which might be a good thing, less user, more bandwidth! But for me, my work place and home speed damn good so it's the cheapest choice and also I am not keen on being tied down on a 2 years contract thingy.

So webe can be used on PC by using TMGo USB Dongle modem right?

As I'm aware, the promotion of webe is RM 79, just wondering this is the monthly commitment? The promotion will be ended this 31st December 2016, so the question is, what will be the monthly commitment after this date?

I just moved to new house new area where the only internet provider available here is YES which is unlimited data but with the maximum speed of only 1mbps. Sometimes it took ages to load a website.

Really looking for a broadband where I can use on my PC with much faster speed than YES and of course unlimited data. Need an advice from you guys.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Only few USB modems can support band 5 and that modem is one of its. If you registered now, the bill would be the same until you terminate your subscription.Bear in mind, the price will be reversed to RM199 next year.

Thanks for your reply tengkurex.

Webe representative just give me a call, the monthly commitment will be RM 79 before GST, as per the reversal back to RM 199, they are not sure when it will be until receive further notice. Also been informed if purchase during promotion period, this monthly commitment will remain the same RM 79 before GST until you terminate the line. After that the price will follow according to that particular period price.

They also told me that the SIM would not detect if you use USB Dongle Modem on PC. So, as you guys mentioned here, it works with TMGo USB Dongle Modem, is it 100% confirm? If yes, tomorrow I would like to purchase the modem from TM Point and would purchase Webe SIM as well.

Once again, thanks for the information.

I just bought Webe SIM pack solely to test the speed in my area. If the speed is good then I'll go to buy TMGo USB Dongle Modem.

Can anyone confirm once again that this Webe can use on PC by using TMGo USB Dongle Modem?

I checked on the TMGo 4G coverage, it does not cover my area but Webe does, so question is, if confirm Webe really can use on PC by using TMGo USB Dongle Modem, I can still use 4G since Webe covered my area?

Dlink DWM-221 cost about RM 230++ whereby TMGo USB Dongle package only cost about RM 115... Obviously getting the Dongle from TM is a better choice in terms of costing ya... Hehehe...

Anyway, thanks guys...

1) this model is EOL, even tm not replenishing this and pushing wifi/fwt devices.
2) dont get this open-market model, it doesnt support 850mhz frequency

only way is to get tmgo's usb dongle (customized dlink dwm-221 with 850mhz)

We optimized our network for 480p video streaming to match your phone screen size and reduce your phone battery consumption.

Yes, you are able to stream 1080p high resolution video streaming but it may require a longer time for loading before the video streaming starts.

You may also see some buffering in between.

Tested the dongle using TMGo prepaid... Checked the TMGo 4G coverage around my area from TM website itself, unfortunately it did not cover my area but surprisingly the speed is quite fast...

Erm, I didn't check the speed but load YouTube is quite fast... When I checked on the TM website, the coverage really did not covered my area... But then I can use it... Maybe it uses 3G instead of 4G? Perhaps...

U meant TMGo's USB-modem with WEBE SIM can't roam to celcom? Does that mean it won't work in area without WEBE LTE coverage?

No. I means tmgo simcard. Can connect to TMgo LTE & Webe LTE.

Webe simcard can connect to TMgo LTE, Webe LTE & Celcom.

i wonder why you all check tmgo coverage. technically network used are the same, but just check webe's 4g coverage lo since they could update it more frequent than tmgo's.

Webe riding on Celcom 3G and they had 4G coverage over there. This is a good indicator of what kind of quality you should be expecting.
