most of us uses Fast.net speed test because it's more accurate..

the server uses foreign one instead of local.. since most of the website is foreign based one. it's more better to use Fast.net
*
Don't forget many servers are using CDN now. Some have their CDN in Malaysia, or at least in SG

Speedtest.net is not fake guys, don't misled people

Fast.com in the other hand is netflix own server, so it might be located in usa or nearest server by netflix..
*
Don't forget, many big websites has CDN enabled. Meaning that the content is available on server in Malaysia or near.

Now,

according to webe's website

USAGE LIMITATION ON OUR MOBILE INTERNET DATA:-

• PEER TO PEER TRAFFIC: MOBILE INTERNET DATA IS CAPPED AT 64kbps.
• VIDEO STREAMING WILL BE AUTO-TUNED TO 480P WIDE SCREEN (BY THIRD PARTY STREAMING SOFTWARE).
• OUR WEBE MOBILE SERVICE ALLOWS YOU TO USE VOICE AND MOBILE INTERNET DATA ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE. HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT COME WITH TETHERING SERVICE UNLESS YOU PURCHASE A TETHERING PASS.
so no more usb modem usage?

like seriously?

i only wanted this because of usb modem usable (although for single device only)

can anyone confirm this?
*
Can use on USB modem, but cannot tether on smartphones like Android, iOS and Windows Phone

Never used one hehe. But webe said 'tether', not modem. So, technically everyone should be able to use usb modem for their webe sim card biggrin.gif

Hi all,

I already try to connect using below method:
1) Normal USB modem + Router with USB modem capability connect thru wire : FAIL

2) MIFI : FAIL

3) MIFI using USB cable : FAIL

4) HP using USB cable : FAIL

5) HP Hotspot: FAIL

All above method when insert back sim card to HP, got sms frm WEBE "U have not activated Personal WIFI on this mobile''.
6) Using normal USB modem 3G/4G direct plug in to laptop : PASS

U will not get 4G if the modem no Band 5(850) capability, u will get 3G only roaming on Celcom network.
So far no extra charge when using usb modem

webe's security mechanism is strong in this one. Can't tether and yet can't use in modem

guys.. need opinion..

If i want data use only (no calls/sms) to replace my streamyx.. is it suitable...?
Don't think got 4G Webe here.. but 3G (and 4G) Celcom no problem..

Since just need to pay RM79... any device can use?

edit:
O wait.. (read another topic)..
Webe still must used webe-certified device only?
*
You can use it on any device as long as the device supports LTE Band 5. If not and if you don't care about the speed, you can use Celcom's 3G instead. Don't forget about the tethering restrictions. thumbup.gif

Used to be premium user for a couple of months before to bypass geo-restriction but no longer premium user. VyprVPN are pretty fast though and plenty of server selection. One thing would interest most user is they had server in Malaysia. If you connect to it, you can not only bypass dpi but also fix that terrible peer routing from whichever ISP (TM is notorious for having terrible peer routing on Unifi).
*
I've heard this once, but can you explain to me what and why Unifi has bad peer routing?

I was always router to HK ingest server when watching Twitch and I'd decided to investigate this issue. I'd obtained a ping test software specified for Twitch ingest server and discovered that I had 50-65ms of latency to HK server while 250-300ms of latency to Singapore.

Then, I tried using VyprVPN to test it out and voila. Latency to HK server remains around the same range and latency to ingest server is around 20-30ms. The best part is, I'm always defaulted connected to Singapore ingest server which allows me to watch lower latency from broadcaster live stream.

If you always watch live stream on longzhu.com, zhanqi.tv or douyutv.com, the difference while using VPN or not is day and night. No further explanation needed.

Aaa I see. Thanks smile.gif

Dear FB fans, shoppers and community of Cheras,
We sincerely thank you for your support so far, as we have been receiving endless crowd and feedback - both positive and negative. We thank those who came to visit us and we understand the expectations since its been some time since Cheras had such excitement.
We acknowledge that there are many areas to improve - telco coverage, wifi, Atm availability, credit card facilities, car park signage, cleanliness, lack of redemption items etc. Technical aspects that worked fine before started to act up, dust continues to fly even though we constantly clean after hours.
But we owe ourselves that we should not give up. And we must work harder to address these issues we are facing. We hope you will continue to let us know your thoughts and give us the opportunity, time and space to make this work for you. Some solutions will be quick, but some may take longer. We will use this space to continuously provide you with updates and engage with you actively for a better mall experience that benefits Cheras.

HAVING TROUBLE WITH CONNECTION? TAKE UP THE "A DAY IN RETRO LIFE AT SUNWAY VELOCITY MALL" CHALLENGE !!!
We have received some feedback on the wifi & telco issues. We're deeply sorry about the inconvenience caused, but while we're working diligently to improve it quickly, we'd very much like to make up to our customers by offering everyone a chance to tell us their "A Day in Retro Life at Sunway Veloctity Mall" story (remember what it was like in the old days before wifi?). The most inspiring & interesting story will be picked by us & rewarded with a CHRISTMAS HAMPER WORTH RM800 !!!
*The "A Day in Retro Life at Sunway Velocity Mall" challenge period will run till all communication lines are restored biggrin.gif Do drop by our Concierge Counter on Ground Floor or First Floor should you require assistance in using the paging system.

This explains that it's not telco's fault, but the mall itself. They probably need some time

So finally received my sim today. Popped it into my laptop sim slot, turn on my mobile connection software and it shows there CELCOM and then a big R (which stands for roaming). I click connect then it says I will be charged higher (?) due to roaming. But it can connect and I can use it to surf. I somehow don't need to do the APN setting as instructed.

I never once in my life use any roaming thing. I never go oversea  sad.gif . I only know it like that which is will be activated when local sim is used oversea. Will I see extra charges in my bill later?

I searched further and found the following:-
1. I go to webe web and see it says there roaming is RM39/day.
2. At the beginning of this thread, it says "and it has roaming 2G/3G agreement with celcom". So is this roaming the free kind? I don't know if such thing exist... confused.gif
3. I look at past webe thread (V1) and somebody mention DR (domestic roaming). Again, is this same as point no. 2?

Please help..I don't want kena charge RM39/day. I put the sim into my 3G phone also can connect and surf but also with the roaming sign.

For reminder again, my location is 93250 Kuching Sarawak (Desa Wira, somewhere between Jln Stephen Yong & MJC).
*
In extend to pcbase, domestic roaming requires no charge at all while international roaming requires a fixed price at RM39/day.
