I'm surprise too, applied online few times last year but all got rejected. Last Friday when pass by their roadshow simply just try out, just show IC and thumbprint and agent fill up everything else without hassle, today got the eStatement registration email already yet pending for approval.

Applied many times before but got all rejected. Want to find out the reason but bank unable to disclose, so happen saw the roadshow then simply just try who knows got the news within few days

can share what roadshow was it?

Probably more worth it to wait for 6 months and then reapply with all documents and get new sign up bonus. Most banks are 6 months (I think SCB may be 2 years or some crap though).

I've been reading the Liverpool T&C again. I think the first year waiver is valid. Nowhere it says that new cardholders have to pay instantly for first year annual fee. The reason for the separate clause for cards issued before/after Nov 2018 is because they need to honor the 20k spend annual fee waiver for existing cardholders.

After Oct 31 2019, everyone is subjected to the $175 annual fee.

Perhaps the personnel handling my JOP application was confused. If anyone wants to apply, can just ask if there's any first year annual fee waiver before you apply.
