if Malaysian equities don't give double digits returns then it is simply not sensible to continue holding on to them based on the risk to return ratio. I would rather be investing in Malaysian fixed income funds.

food for thought.

Oh sure. But for me, so long as it beats EPF and if I could tell my ASB friends (8%) that my returns are on par. Good if can hit double digits though.

Certainly it is not something limited to ponzi 2.0 or asia pacific funds. This is world wide.

me too, target to consistently beat EPF return, not hoping for double digit first as Im still new in UT, 2yo biggrin.gif
my strategy, Im trying to mimic EPF asset allocation with 50% in fixed income, 40% in Equities, <5% in property
EPF Strategy

My portfolio is currently 41% in FI, 50% in Equities(incl Property sector 5%), the rest in balanced fund, ROI = 4.9%, it almost touches 6% 3 weeks ago rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Oh, not following EPF allocations. Just use the return as a target and a baseline so to speak. My FI hovers around 25-30% and the rest in equities with Malaysia being close to 30% now. Discussion here and the previous thread has this running theme of diversify outside Malaysia and Asia being the darling now.

I don't have a sizeable amount for DCA so in order to keep to the % for each region, I'm beginning to sell and take profit for funds that are overlapping / correlate (from my Pokemon days) with each other.

No grand strategy really. Just DCA with what I have and have some money saved up for when there's a bargain in any market (not FSM promo)

So who will actually win ?

If Hillary wins, the market will probably climb up immediately after election.

If Trump wins, the market will slide further for another unknown time.

I'm betting on Hillary. I enquirer most of my American friends and almost all of them voted for Hillary. Only the fearful, the racist, the bigots and general rednecks vote for trump.

Is it worth using EPF to invest in unit trust?

Also, if I invested in a fund using EPF, and in the future I decide to sell it, will the money go back into EPF or into my pocket?

HI Michaelbyz23 & all,

I'm just a novice here. Let say I use Kenanga growth fund as an example,

OTHER PERFORMANCE DATA
Calendar Year 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011
Kenanga Growth Fund (%) 20.91 9.31 26.47 13.95 19.07

Is that the percentage show the return per year just like FD ?

Thank you

With EPF, you are confirm to get + 2% above inflation. With UT you can get 10%, promo rates FD, board rates FD, 1% or even worse (-).

Those want higher returns will withdraw from EPF. But it's entirely your choice.

Money goes back into EPF.
