Nice video. Thanks for sharing. And google algorithm showed me this which I think makes a lot of sense too. Machine intelligence work well with existing trends n patterns. Not so much in changing environment. N we as human would need to bridge that gap
https://hbr.org/2016/11/the-competitive-lan...m_medium=socialAnyway, I think politics and socioeconomic will play a role in which field and how quickly automation n replacement of manpower at work. The corporations after all still need humans to spend money so they can make money. N politicians need voters to keep them in office so unemployment rate cannot be too high
So I think within my working life I'd still have my job la. How about you? Do you think machines can replace actuarists?
That is when AI was still replying on retrospective algorithm, which I think AI now has some development in prospective learning, which allow them to learn what they haven't experience
Social and political factor are important, but judging on how fast technology advance, I wouldnt feel surprise if economics and finance are the priority consideration that massive retrenchment becomes inevitable
Just think about 10 years ago when smartphone was pretty much limited to basic tasks, you would not imagine now with android and iOS, everyone regardless of age stick to their smartphone and tablet
10 years ago, IT in banking was pretty much at its infant stage, and now they are almost convenient enough to start ditching out traditional banking methods, even the rise of fintech is starting to challenge the status quo of financial instituition
So is really hard to imagine how 10 years later will be

That's why aside of being profecient in one's field, we must also able to integrate other fields and skills to bring more value into our work, so that we can provide more sophisticated product and solution which AI hard to replace (although by the time u can do it, AI had already outsmart you

)
I will say eventually they will, just hopefully not within these 30 years (let me retire first which is 30 years later

)
