So CIMB-PRINCIPAL ASIA PACIFIC DYNAMIC INCOME FUND just announced a pricing error. How can they possibly be so unprofessional? Plus look at the announcement letter. COMPUTER GENERATED NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED. How can this possibly be automated? Stupid manager just come clean and put his or her name on the mistake.

I received an email from FSM:

QUOTE
Dear Valued Customers,

We have been informed by CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad (“CPAM”) that there was a pricing error for CIMB Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund (“Fund”) from 12 October 2016 to 27 October 2016 (collectively referred to as the “Period”).

CPAM has been notified by the Trustee, HSBC Trustee (Malaysia) Berhad that the Fund’s investment positions were inflated after a corporate exercise. Upon review, CPAM found that Fund’s units held for the security was inadvertently overstated. The error has caused the fund’s net asset value (“NAV”) per unit priced at a higher value during the period.

As such, the following corrections have been made:

Either invested or switched into this Fund during the above-mentioned Period
For investors who have purchased or switched into the Fund during the period, CPAM has revised the NAV per unit and will amend the units to the investors.

Either redeemed or switched out of the Fund during the above-mentioned Period
For investors who have redeemed or switched out the Fund during the period, CPAM will reimburse the Fund for the excess payment being difference between the original price and corrected price of the Fund.

For more details, please refer to the enclosed notification from the fund house.

If you need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us at 03-2149 0567 or email us at clienthelp.my@fundsupermart.com.

So unprofessional. I remember making a comment that they could have made an error when the market was going down badly they could still register high return.

does it matter? yes and no. in a long term it won't matter. it would be just another ripple in the ocean but to those who want to purchase funds that are affected so in short term yes it is a momentous event.

food for thought.

there there bro. I always emphasize that everyone should have a career invested in skills. skills that machines find it hard to replace. like a physical therapist, chiropractor, surgeon,carpenter/repair man and even cement layer.
