2.60 browser doesnt have flash support.
u can try turn off image,animations.. i tried load forum.lowyat.net b4 with full images and flash, no problem with memory.. |

1. How to watch video on psp -what filetype did the psp support (already in diagram) -how to convert avi to mp4 -where to put the video files 2. How to play mp3 -is there any additional plugin for mp3 playback (u can give the detail about mp3 plugin) 3. How to take a screenshot 4. if offline you can get 5 hours,i think you can more or less get 3 hours from wifi play |

oh i think u can put how to identify ta-082 mobo.. just put some link that have this tutorial. and yes as king say more on the homebrew compatibility.

was wondering how u guys play PSX games on the PSP ? i am running 3.03 OE-C and i did tried using the POPstation or something like that ...
do we have to like rip from the PSX cd then only convert? i did try downloading PSX 2 PSP converted files ... but then u know la ... msia internet so darn fast ... or either that stupid farking tmnet already cap torrent files ... thx in advance |

how long do i need to charge the PSP for the 1st time before starting to use? |

i think he's trying to ask if we should overcharge it the first time round before using it.
Answer: nop, you charge it as u would any other day. And like dflo said, just leave it overnite when u're sleeping. It auto stops charging when battery is full. I dunno how fast... never time it before, but i'd say 2 to 3 hours. |

Dflo bro... mind to put up how to recover ur half brick or brick psp. I mean those who use OE fw. since last night it take me 2 hour to find out how to do the recovery. i think you need to put up few ways since ive read a few of diffrent way such as rename the 150.pbp to Eboot.pbp and some Update.pbp. but both didnt work for me. ive dl a recovery file somewhere then it work well. so its a good to put this though. since it will save alot of time for noob just like me.. hehehe

i suggest u get it from trusted seller... who to trust? drop by at some of forumer shop such as djinn and bernard moh. |

if u use the 3.02 sony fw then i think u need to downgrade to 1.5 to to any oe fw.. if im not mistaken la.. i never experience doing downgrading process but what i can tell u is make sure power is sufficient.. best is to plug in ur power supply. Then do alot of research and best is find tutorial u can understand . Then the upgradin is also same.. do find a good tutorial on how to do it.. the process is the same for any custom FW.. so just make sure what u are doin and dont just do it with out any knowledge of what u do.. easy way is contact those forumer that do this service.. but only if u live around them.. hehehe most of them are in KL area..

From an OE FW to another OE firmware, you can just install it straight away. no need to Downgrade to 1.5 first.
Dark_Alex FW updater will format the PSP flash memory first before installing new OE firmware. So, it doesn't matter which FW you are using. I've done 3.03 -> 3.10 -> 3.03 then to 3.10 again all OE. Hope this helps. |

Original Sony PSP batteries are RM250++ (both 1800mAh and 2200mAh) Sony's official batteries max at 2200 mAh, meaning 5+- gameplay hours only. but check this out, this is a 3rd party's battery for the PSP.   provides 8 and 20 hours respectively (quoted from PA). Not many people dare to try 3rd party or fake batteries, becos the fear of leakage. But as u know, fake stuff varies, so it really depends on ur luck. if you were to buy 3.10 (the next fw after 3.03) then u're out of luck. you need to downgrade ur PSP to 1.5 first before u can bring it back up to 3.XX OE. Look for tot31 for downgrading services |

U've prolly guessed it, ur 3.03 is Sony's Official Firmware.
You can't run homebrews on it. To run homebrews, u need to downgrade it to 1.5 first before upgrading it back to 3.XX OE Now don't go buying GTA game just to downgrade. Hey, great writeup for newbies!!!
My girlfriend just got me a PSP yesterday... silver edition. So happy! Firmware is version 3.03 so I think no homebrews lah!! I also have a VAIO SZ38GP, so so far, no need to connect USB etc... just pop in the MS and everything can move around freely. I also use Sonicstage alot since I'm from a dying breed using MD and Hi-MDs... so most of my music was already in ATRAC3 format... copied over and waalaa... plays instantly on my PSP. Now, this is what I call, convergence!!! A silly question.... currently, my VAIO is set up on a LAN network. How do I set it up so that I can surf wirelessly on my PSP. Thanks! |

hie everyone here,
I want to get a PSP but the question is nowadays the White colour PSP firmware version is 3.0 and above and can i get this package after that downgraded to firmware 1.5 version so i can play the game from memory stick which is homebrew. Cause 1 shop want to sell firmware 1.5 version which is Rm900 and verision 2.0 and above only Rm550 I new to PSP i need someone to explain Thanks alot. |

when is the best time to recharge the batt?? i mean how to keep the batt long lasting ?? when the power LED blinking, then charge o use until the batt totally flat/empty, then only charge?? thx all in advance..... |

Hey guys,
Just surfing around for a gadget, thinking of iPod or PSP. To be used for trips only ( when I'm using other modes of transportation and not driving lah ). Of course I want music, games and ability to play video files for about 2 - 3 hours straight up. Is PSP a better choice? I read here, they're taking about versions lah, homebrew ( which is home - made softwares right? ) etc. I am confused, so confused! Argh! How much for each UMD movie, or is there a way for me to put my own movies into the PSP etc? Can anyone help em up by giving me weblinks / threads etc on PSP's video and music functions? a little question here.... last few day, i'm switch off my psp at 15% of batt.. but, after 10 hour later i wish to switch on it and play it... but it can't switch on le... after recharge it..then it work again.. i had experienced it few time le.. izzit normal?? many many thank to all... |

but if 3rd party, then there's this but no one is sure whether it will leak or not. Personally, i have seen people use a fake battery and reported working fine. But like all fake stuff, the items you buy varies, so it's really about luck. |

they claim it to be 20 hours... personally, i think it's around 8 hours only.
3600 is only double of 1800 and 1800 is 4 hours. ....................if you can count battery voltage that way |

i think you're talking bout WMV?
you can even with official fw, but u gotta go online to do it. alternately, you can enable it thru recovery mode. It's one of the options there. |

how many stuck/dead pixels you have oh? don't be paranoid lah, change also can't guarantee 100% don't have. If it's only 1 or 2, bear with it. I have 2 stuck pixels btw |

If you're very rich, then just go buy the first batch of PSPs Jap console. Some of the early birds here have them. Their LCDs are manufactured by Sharp, no stuck/dead pixels. That was until Samsung took over (maybe they offered cheaper LCDs??) and Sony began mass producing PSPs with cheap-ass LCDs. And speaking of samsung, i never liked samsung anyway  |

Let me know if this is inappropriate.
but i need help regarding to my psp. Last few days i just finished playing Metal Gear and i just left it on because i'm too lazy to wait infront of the psp reading the credits. then i went to see my psp, of course it'll be out of battery, i know that could be coming. but then i've tried to charge it , like usual using the adapter. but there was no orange light (which means that i'm using the adapter) and i can't turn on the psp. i tried switching the socket here and there but no avail to that. but i just realize that the adapter was kinda hot when i turn the switch on. is the problem is with my PSP's battery or the adapter? I don't have time to go to any shop to settle the problem, so i guess anyone here could help me maybe ?  |

try take out the battery, plug in the adapter & turn it on. If it doesn't work then its most likely the adapter problem, else maybe both also got problem

Hi forumers.. I'm a newbie in PSP moding coz just got my own psp a few days ago from bernard..my firmware is 3.10 OE-A'.

Well its quite simple actually, to see if your psp has stuck pixel, while you are in the main menu or game, push the power button and let your psp go on stanby.Then if there is stuck pixels on the screen (cross your fingers) they will appear as tiny white pixel/lines before the screen totally switches off and goes on standby mode. Regarding playing video in PSP, i have following question as below, appreciate reply ok. 1. After converting my file to MP4 or AVC, i can rename the file anything and put them in VIDEO folder? no need to name them in M4VXXXX.MP4 format? why certain video file (like movie trailer) put in ANV folder? can the M4Vxxx.MP4 put in the video folder and not the MP_Root folder? 2. I though the PSP can play MP4,MOV,AVI,DivX out of the box and no conversion is needed for firmware 3.10 OE-A? Thanks |

yuo, 3.30 is out, but this is not OE. It's an official release by Sony. Once upgrade, cannot play homebrew anymore, so better be careful.

yeah, if you have a black one it's not so noticeable. shaky only cos there is a bit of space around the buttons, make it easier to navigate and press on?
my white one also a bit shaky shaky. no worries. i think more ppl have problems with the d-pad rather. |

yes, 333 is max, do you dare to overclock it any higher without adding any cooler system of some sort? i heard before the 222mHz speed, 111mHz used to be the standard. |

hey guys, any ideas if the psp or memory stick will fail if i really max out the capacity? lets say i got a 2gb memory stick but i used it up till like around 20mb left. is it ok? will it affect the performance much?

err guys i'm a very n00b to homebrew, can anyone help me on this? i got a 1.5 and wanna update it to Version 3.10 Open Edition. i have downloaded Custom Firmware 3.30 OE-A from PSP Hacks but i found the instruction in the read me kind of confusing.
wat does it mean by "Instructions are as always, oeupdmaker to create the dxar from 150.PBP and 310.PBP, and 310oeflasher to install the firmware from the dxar previously generated." unzipping the file downloaded give me 4 diff folders, 310oeflaser 310oeflasher% oeupdmaker oepdmaker% all 4 folders have EBOOT.PBP files. Please help! |

Dflo just one question. About bricking, u said it can be recovered if i have a custom firmware right? I have 3.30 OE-A and that means as long as i keep the backup of a perfectly-running flash0 folder i should be fine? And all changes can be recovered by just replacing the flash0 with the backup one?

but the movie hv to renamed in M4VXXXXX (xxxxx is any 5 number) exp. M4V12345 coz hv to renamed it only will show inside psp video icon... i think the ANV folder maybe is for AVI. format de file gua... should gv a try.. btw, nice hah...get 3.40 oe_A le.. hehe.... |

The problem with hiding your video directory is that it creates suspicion. Which is the same problem if you have a program that asks for a password. The solution is to create a harmless looking program which is in reality a program waiting for your password to unlock your videos. Description This is a very simple application which anyone could write. But since I couldn't find one quite like it, in my own fashion, I made one. The program will appear as a calculator application with the name "BASIC Calculator" in your XMB. The calculator program is functional, it's code is copied (with permission) from the calculator code included in Shine's Lua Player 0.20 with a few minor alterations. The only way to see your private videos is to enter the correct code sequence into the calculator. The program swaps your 100MNV02 directory with the regular 100MNV01 directory, replacing your regular videos with the private videos. Running the program again reverses the process, restoring your regular videos and hiding your private videos. |

ooh... did i mention there's lotsa lotsa emulators from ur childhood consoles?
from N64 to GBA and lots of them i've never even heard of. disadvantage of OE? there isn't any.... cos even the data loaded from mstick is faster and uses less battery power compared to if loaded from UMD. Plus reading from UMD is noisy This post has been edited by King83: Apr 24 2007, 05:35 PM |

most bricks are caused by user problem.
meaning, people don't bother reading the readme.txt which comes with the downgrader. anyway, i think it will take awhile before a 3.40 downgrader comes along, but keep ur fingers crossed. |

there's no downgrader for 2.81
but there is downgrader for 3.03, so u need to upgrade it to 3.03 first, then downgrade it to 1.5 from there. the catch is, u will be needing an unpatched GTA:LCS UMD. Only a handful of people have it here (market extinct liau). Mr Shiney, tot31, Dflo just to name a few. look for them. |

I just bought 1 PSP for my gf. My friend help me to install a few "ahem" games in the MSPD there. But since i,m so new to PSP, can all the PSP sifu tell me what exactly can i do with the PSP?
1) Can PSP play online game? (like PS2 online or Xbox Live) If can, then how? 2) I can install the the MP3, Music Video files and photos inside the memory stick same as the "ahem" game right? 3) Besides Lumines and Puzzle Bubble Pocket, any other good arcade game to introduce? |

i m thinkin of gettin a psp, but b4 gettin i got sum noob ques to ask. if the psp i bought is version 2.70, can i flash it to higher version like 3.30 or 3.40? and hw can i make it homebrew enabled? hw many mspd slot does psp have? and can it play the ahem umd wif many games+movie and song? lastly, wats the lastest price? anyway u can upgrade to higher no problems (easy sumore just buy a brand new game disc and put in, auto) ..or u can flash it to lower then flash it to higher (w/ capability to play hb) anyway price? bought mine rm800 but that was long time ago. |

hola fellas..
my psp now using firmware 3.11 (original sony network update) but i cant seem to update to the latest 3.40 firmware. why aa? had no problem downloading the update but when upgrade starts, this message appears "The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for assistance. (DRNffffffd7)" i also tried updating via pc but same problem. please advice.. |

A few things I would like to know:- -Which firmware should I go for? What's the difference? After reading the beginners thread, it seems that OE firmwares are quite complicated. Is it? -Why does OE firmware make the PsP more powerful? -If I'm willing to spend the extra cash to get original games, are there still reasons to get a PsP with an OE firmware? Thanks guys! Please bear with me Thanks again~ different firmwares allow your psp to do different things. as an example; in firmware 1.5,you cant disable auto boot(so when you start your psp,your UMD is played AUTOMATICALLY.this is a big pain when you want to watch movies off of your memory stick or play games off of your memory stick) (im not sure when it started,but later firmwares have internet browser,flash player,wma support,etc) the biggest difference between OE firmware and the official sony firmware,is that OE firmwares allow you to play backup games off of the memory stick(extremely useful if your UMD drive is spoilt),play emulators on your psp,use homebrew applications on your psp,etc.. -mainly because of homebrew -yes.because you never know when your UMD drive might go bonkers on you. and there is no difference between OE and official firmwares,except the the OE firmwares allow you to do much more than the ori firmwares. if you ask me,these OE firmwares are the biggest reason the psp is even selling atm. something as simple as a screenshot utility cannot be done on official sony firmwares-why? i have no idea,but it is very cool to be able to take a screenie of your in game activities,especially when multiplaying with friends and another thing..not ALL games on the psp are good.if you use OE firmwares,you can download the games first,try them out,and delete them and buy the games if you like them.. i for one would hate to spend RM100+ on something that i might not like so i dont think testing the product first,then buying it would be a problem,would it? Thanks a lot Mgsrulz!!~ Much much more than I bargained for Umm, I asked a forumer for a deal, part of his reply is - "this package allowed u to play all "types" of games, mp3, mp4, ps1 games, search internet n etc... u still can play back the original umd by using this firmware, but make it's below 3.11 version. if not, it will change ur currently firmware to 3.11, then u have to wait somebody can hack it, then only u can play back the homebrew games. all the homebrew games or iso/cso games which u can downloaded from internet is the same only."If I understand this correctly, it means that if I play an original game, the firmware will automatically change to an original firmware and I'll have to change it back to enable homebrew. Guys,
this fella talk about original firmware. Maybe he is one of the few people that support ori. Anyway, the DRNffffffd7 usually comes from t-082 motherboard that have been downgrade before. And i heard it will make the psp stuck at 3.11 forever. (I read from a forum somewhere before, i'll try look for it again) Check first if it t-082 motherboard. Since you already tried wireless and transfer method of updating, there is only one way left, updating via umd. Try looking for games that required 3.40 to play them. (Are there any?) If all can't, you can only wait for downgrader to come first and upgrade again. Am I correct? fw is like operating system.. 1st u need to know the psp umd concept... let say old psp title like darkstalker required fw 1.50 and new psp title need fw higher than 2.5 or 3.10. so it mean, if u use fw 1.50, u cannot run games that required fw above than 1.50.. -right now, we all talking about 3.03 or 3.40 oe, so all umd game can be playable with this fw... Hope all brothers here can help. Wanna ask does any brother have difficulties in playing psx game? Recently i try to play ff8 and street fighter ex2 plus on my psp also cannot. The final fantasy 8 will hang at somewhere whereas the street fighter ex2 plus will become colour distorted .
1) Is it something to do with my psp clock speed? 2) If i change the clock speed to 333mhz, will it harm my psp? 3) Anything else i need to install so that i can play psx games without problem? 4) What is the game id of psx game? I fi simply change it will it afffect the game play? 5) Does you guys feel lag when playing EYE ASS OH game?? eg.Prince of persia I have already google for so long times but cannot get the right answer, i am so confused , hope brother here can clear my doubt. rclxms.gif |

You don't need to install anything. But there is some issues with game compatibilities... not all games work. for your 4th question, no don't change otherwise it won't work. happens when your "legally backup" game is in compressed format (.cso or .dax) compressed games also needs more loading time. |

I've ask several Psp dealers about the warranty for their Psp. Most of them gave me 1 year but the warranty will be automatically void if I play downloaded game on my psp.
So my first question is, will you guys play downloaded game and void your warranty? Assume that you do not have enough money to buy various ori umd that you really wanna play. 2nd question, will the psp have higher chances to get spoil if you play downloaded games? Lastly, lets say your psp really spoilt. Is the price of repairing expensive? Cause if its expensive, I wont wanna risk my warranty kena void. Hope you guys can give me some answer. Thanks! |

hola fellas..
im planning to get myself a 2nd PSP & was planning to get a new 1.. a few days ago a friend came to me wanting to sell his PSP. his is a PSP-1000 non TA mobo, which to my understanding is very 'stable' if u're planning to use homebrew.. plus the fact that this type of PSP is really rare nowadays. new ones in the shops are mostly PSP-1006, TA-082 mobo, rite? ok so a logical question would be, SHOULD I BUY MY FRIEND'S PSP OR JUST GET MYSELF A NEW 1? oh. by the way, he's giving all the complete package PSP (with HORI sp), batt, charger, ori pouch, headfon remote, box, all for RM700. |
