Sony's official firmware upgrade = no homebrew.
Dark_Alex's custom firmware upgrade = welcome homebrew.

you'll know it's a custom fw when there are alphabets behind the fw version.
e.g. "3.10 OE-A"

Standard battery (1800mAh) lasts 4-5 hours.
Depending on whether u're watching from UMD or memorystick cos reading UMD consumes more power.

i think u need to cover more on firmware and homebrew compatibility issues.

Maybe you need to tell them the difference between Sony's FW & custom fw.
Let them know the reason why sony wants us to upgrade.

Answer: nop, you charge it as u would any other day.
And like dflo said, just leave it overnite when u're sleeping.
It auto stops charging when battery is full. I dunno how fast... never time it before, but i'd say 2 to 3 hours.

Yes, there's fake Sony PSP batteries.
They look exactly the same but they're at RM60+.

Original Sony PSP batteries are RM250++ (both 1800mAh and 2200mAh)
Sony's official batteries max at 2200 mAh, meaning 5+- gameplay hours only.

but check this out, this is a 3rd party's battery for the PSP.

Not many people dare to try 3rd party or fake batteries, becos the fear of leakage.
But as u know, fake stuff varies, so it really depends on ur luck. If you're lucky, u'll get a good working one (like my fren)... but if u're not, u may have just screwed ur PSP.

you are so bloody lucky cos 3.03 is the highest fw which can be downgraded.
if you were to buy 3.10 (the next fw after 3.03) then u're out of luck.

you need to downgrade ur PSP to 1.5 first before u can bring it back up to 3.XX OE.

Look for tot31 for downgrading services

U've prolly guessed it, ur 3.03 is Sony's Official Firmware.
You can't run homebrews on it. To run homebrews, u need to downgrade it to 1.5 first before upgrading it back to 3.XX OE

Now don't go buying GTA game just to downgrade.
Not just any GTA will do, u need the unpatch version (extinct liau).

There are a few people who own it in this forum.
Look for them if u wanna downgrade.
Tot31, Mr Shiney, Dflo just to name a few.

if you know anything about computers, viruses are platform specific.
A virus written to work on a windows platform will definately not work on the PSP as the virus exploits vulnerabilities of different Operating Systems.

don't buy then...
computer also can kena infected by virus... in fact, it's even more common.

1. It stands for Open Edition. "A" is the first version, then came "A2", "B" and "C".. to fix bugs and add more features.

2. Universal Media Disc, the disc Sony created to let us play games with on our PSP.

3. v1.5 can run homebrew, v3.xx can't.
v3.xxOE is actually a hybrid of the 2, that's why it has the latest functionality of a v3.xx and it can run homebrews.

4. Homebrew is software or programs written by people not from Sony. They make the PSP more powerful. The 3.xxOE is a homebrew.
Firmware is the PSP's operating system. Think of firmware as "microsoft windows" for ur PSP. And again, the 3.xxOE is a firmware and also a homebrew (cos it's not written by Sony).

5. Like i said, v1.5 can run homebrews. And 3.xxOE is a homebrew... so u need to downgrade it to 1.5 before u can use homebrew.

6. As of today, 3.03 is the highest firmware you can downgrade. You can't downgrade a 3.10 or a 3.11. If possible, try getting a 2.80 or under firmware, it's easier to downgrade from that fw.

1. Depends... For 3.03 OE, revision C is the latest. For 3.10 OE, A' a.k.a A2 is the latest.
