Hi all

I would need to install CCTV at my house but all the quotations that I received from a few sellers were rm2500 without hacking, rm3000 with hacking and yesterday, another seller quoted rm4000.
I actually think I only need about 4 wired cameras for the ground floor
1. Porch
2. Hall
3. Kitchen
4. Back

For the upper floor, I would just get the wireless one and fix it if I really need it. I have a maid and its just a precaution thingylar..to be safe.

The thing is, the house is undergoing renovation and my contractor's electrician is around as well, I can get them to fix for me the wires all, so I was just thinking if I can do it myself instead.

So, my next question is..what type of camera do I need to buy, saw some HIK vision stuff, what do you all recommend and if possible, provide me the link, so that I can buy it.
I should be able to do the configuration myself, also..what type of wiring would I need..

And...for the porch and the back, how do I know if my camera is waterprooflar...

Looking for advice as well, you see the area is already gated and guarded.. so..I am not gonna go for any alarm system like that. Just would like to save moneylar...don't want to spend unnecessarily.
I should also mention that, my contractor is also laying for me the cat6 cables for data point.

What cables do the CCTV thing use?

From our experience, IMOU wifi cctv better than ezviz, but IMOU price slightly expensive.

Yes, u will get false alarm because camera motion detection based on image pixel change. Now only cctv with built-in Ai can differentiate human, vehicle, pets, insect, etc.. But very expensive.

If u opt for IMOU G26E, it has motion detector PIR built-in, can reduce false alarm.

Can it be connected to DVR/NVR wirelessly. If yes which one is the most suitable for Dahua?
I know ezviz can be connected to HIK DVR/NVR.

Yes, IMOU and Ezviz all can connect to DVR/NVR
Use NVR if u want to link the Wifi camera.

Depends on what system u use..
If u use Coaxial system, system price is a lot cheaper than IP System.

If ur house under reno, at RM2500, u can get quite good coaxial system (example: 5MP Full Color System), incl cabling, hacking etc..
Even if u opt for IP System, also can get 4MP system..

Try not to used entry level 4Mp IPC from HIK/Dahua, they sucks on low lux performance because they don't use Sony CMOS but instead used cheap Omnivision sensors.

All CCTV (Incl DVR or NVR) nowadays can be access remotely, either using app or pc.
It is a standard feature.

I agree to this.
For now, I would rather get higher range with slightly lower resolution instead of entry model with high resolution.

Minimum 8 so you can allocate for indoor if needed. Some with maids normally need to monitor the kitchen as well.

Thanks for your reply!

As this house will be rented out so don't think it will be wise to put CCTV inside.
However I totally understand for future proof purpose.

How much cost are we looking at?

About 20% better if using same CMOS sensor.
