Hi, I want to install 16 channel CCTV in my business location (retail)

Requirement
16 channel
Audio /microphone

Should i go for IP camera or analog CCTV?
Any brand/ model recommendation?

Appreciate the advice.

NVR+IPC would be a better choice if you need all 16ch with Mic. But why do you need audio for retail?

Thank you. I just need mic for like 2 camera only for specific reason.

If i want to add like 4 or 5 camera later in the future is it possible with NVR+IPC?

I've heard about POE (power over ethernet). Does all NVR+IPC support this? or would it cost effective to use normal power supply?

NVR have both POE or normal. Most IPC can support POE except those Pan Tilt units for home. How cost effective will depend on your cable length and ceiling height and also your installer. But HD analog price is ridiculously low now so if budget constraint then definitely analog HD would be very much cheaper. If you have own installer, I can help you get dealer price for HIK/Dahua.

Depends on ur budget.

Analog a lot cheaper than IP.

Analog camera now got built-in mic, video and sound signal transmit thru coax. No need extra mic cable and mic.
The DVR also can support all channel video+sound over coax. 2MP or 5MP also available.

Last I use CVI with audio was 2-3 years ago. And didn't realise TVI can support audio now. But AHD cannot support audio, right? Thanks for the info.

Looking for cctv for home usage and full color series caught my attention. Will this series perform better in dark condition compared to those starlight series, as my surrounding houses are unoccupied? Still considering hikvision or dahua, any suggestions? Thanks.

Overall performance we feel Hik 5MP Colorvu Series better, because it is using BSI CMOS Sensor.
For your info, HIK 2MP Colorvu is using FSI CMOS Sensor, the full color performance not as good as 5MP Colorvu which use BSI CMOS Sensor.

For Dahua Full Color Series, it's advantage is it got built-in Mic, overall performance similar to ColorVu that use FSI CMOS.

These Full Color camera work great on Ai DVR, either HIK Acusense or Dahua Ai SMD.

Most of the "Starlight" cameras have very good night vision using IR illumination.
With IR night-mode, you could get some crisp detail, but the image was b/w.
You still can force it to stay in color mode, but the quality wasn't as good.
That's why Full Color camera come in.

anybody tried the new dahua imou brand ip camera just officially sell at lazada malaysia?

i tried imou Cue 2 ip camera with only wireless connection and imou Ranger 2 with both LAN and wireless connection, however both model and both LAN and wireless connection would always disconnect 99% of time from dahua imou cloud at the imou life android apps and dahua SmartPSS windows x64 software, however the ip camera itself is working fine, the android apps imou life have a LAN Live function, live stream over LAN still work for both model with both LAN and wireless connection. there is also a dahua SmartPSS windows x64 software, with both cloud and LAN function, LAN function is working fine, cloud is the same would always disconnect 99% of time.

my internet connection is unifi 300mbps with fiberhome modem and unifi D-Link DIR-850L latest firmware 2.12TM , i have multiple brand and model ip camera with cloud live stream function, all are working well without any single cloud live stream issue.

UPDATE: issue fixed, due to some bug at the unifi D-Link DIR-850L router 2.12TM firmware release at 2019

I am about to setup full camera system for my new house.
Have been using xiaomi ip cameras for some years but dislike the connection stability and reliability.

Planning to get hikvision Ds-7608ni-k2/8p nvr.
While searching for compatible cameras, there are sea of selections which really confuse me.

Can someone recommends some cameras for the requirements below?

1. Indoor
* 2MP and above.
* Two way audio or with mic only.
* poe
* optional with pan & tilt

2. Outdoor
* 2MP and above
* long night vision
* poe

Wish to settle with single reliable and reputable brand for all cameras for consistency (OCD).

The biggest challenge is hardly find good camera with two way audio.

Initially thinking to settle with hikvision only hoping their cameras work best with same branded nvr.
But... Their camera range is super confusing.

I find 4k less meaningful as I hardly differentiate the quality differences despite consuming significant storage space and slower decoding.

This helps, thank you.

The design of two way audio models are unattractive.
I have to settle with the only 2MP model with mic.

What are the differences between the two 4MP camera models for both indoor and outdoor (except colorvue) ?

For 4k movie, I still can feel the difference... a bit.

For 4k surveillance footage, I have not tried that but I doubt it is useful for my daily monitoring.
My current xiaomk full HD camera can satisfy my needs.
I even transcode it to lower resolution to play smoothly via mobile network.
Hence, I think hikvision 2mp or 4mp are more than enough.
