let me share my experience
1) 10/10 - applied on via m2u but did not complete the application, stopped at employment details section
2) 13/10 - received automated email saying application will be automatically cancelled if did not complete by that day
3) 16/10 - received an email from MBB telesales notifying to complete the attached application form and supporting documents
4) 17/10 - replied the email above saying I'm existing M2 plat holder, so requesting to add Barca VS without any documents
5) 17/10 - requesting some info to confirm my identify and to proceed with application without documents but will retain existing CL
6) 19/10 - received email saying application in process
7) 26/10 - received sms saying approved

though slow but since I'm not rushing to get it, still a great job by MBB

My situation is micracle ...

Final email to salecard maybank to request add card ....
Finally get approached on six working days

Doesn't show in m2u on the day you get the sms... you still need to wait a while before the card is showed in m2u

Wanna ask those who received the Barcelona card what is your "member since" printed?

2017. Expiry date follows my other MBB conventional credit cards' expiry date.

Can see it in my M2U already. Guess my previous Maybank2Cards was just a coincident that it showed up on the same day of approval SMS.

If I already have M2U Gold 2 Cards with 10k CL and CIMB 15k CL, would they consider my application for Barcelona Card or is it better if I cancel one card first?

Mine is not shown in M2U, call the toll-free number on the back of FCB VS card and was told that my M2U is attached to Maybank 2 card account (I applied M2U online using M2C account), and I need to go to the branch to fill up another form to link all 3 cards in the same account.

my application for FCB card was rejected.

Their requirement is annual income of RM48k, your M2 CL RM10k and CIMB CL RM15k are meaningless.

If application is by m2u online, re-send your application forms (16 pages) and supporting documents to maybankardsales@maybank.com.my.

banks doesnt evaluate you just based on card count and CL. there are other criteria and parameters as well (differs from bank to bank).

Prefer to cold storage a card rather then cancel it because maybe I need the CL some day

I should just try to apply Barca, once ringgitplus offers it with the free gifts

again, card count isnt just one of the reason for rejection.

some ppl have a dozen or 2 dozen cards also get approved.

You case is not difficult, it is only a matter whether Maybank (conventional) wants to increase your CL from RM10k to RM20k (or above).
(+RM10k, not +RM20k to a new customer)
Why wait for RP as you are already an existing Maybank (conventional) credit card customer.
