Just curious, are there any ways (e.g. petition) to push for those banks who already support AP in other markets (OCBC, UOB, HSBC & Citi) to expedite the roll out in Msia? rolleyes.gif

So, maybe those who have connection can inform @Xavier Naxa (Renown Tech blogger), and raise the petition? (Same as previous he raise to MBB) laugh.gif

U can cancel the card and apply later.
Reason: no Apple Pay

This is the reply to my query to OCBC:

CODE

Thank you for your email of 10 August 2022.

We would like to share with you that currently OCBC Bank Malaysia is not supporting Apple Pay services.

Unfortunately that’s a big hassle to update all the auto-debit and registered payment details. Having to do that recently due to the credit record hack was bad enough. I’d rather switch to a supported card and stick with it.

cant go in parking with apple watch and exit with iphone or vice versa even though same credit card tied to this must be some token on top of your card too hence have to add card to wallet on iphone and apple watch separately

No need to pray, it won't happen because iPhone users in Malaysia probably less than 20% of total mobile phone users.

ambank consumer market not big also
it really up to the bank whether they are willing to catch up with the technology hmm.gif
*
Ambank is behind in all areas so they are trying to win back as much market share and branding as they can get. Especially after the whole fiasco with you know who. To the bank, the technology is secondary. The bank doesn't make decision to say that I want to have this technology enabled or I want to focus on this technology. Its about what the benefits they can get out of the technology. Whether it is a better customer experience, faster implementation of changes or just creating mindshare in the market.

Just paid in ikea cafe using Apple Watch, first double click on side button to open wallet, swipe to open my ikea family card bar code which is stored in the Wallet as well default card was my Maybank cc, then tap the screen once to change to my Maybank cc, payment done. Very convenient since both is in wallet/Apple Pay

It has been mentioned that even though with the same credit card enrolled on different devices - each device will have its own Device Account Number which is unique.

So tap in and out with the same device... but to prevent complication at car park exits (in case shit happens), use TnG biggrin.gif
