Believe me, I tried adding Wise physical card (green colour) & Wise virtual card (blue colour like shown above) into Apple Pay. It’s a Malaysian account and Malaysian issued cards; I couldn’t add it to Apple Pay (even if the region is set to SG in settings). It’s likely fake or the owner had originally registered as a non Malaysian account with non Malaysian issued card then converted to a Malaysian account but didn’t remove the card details from their iCloud account.

To keep it short, the last four digits on the Apple Watch is 6612 while on the Public Bank receipt is 1903. So it’s safe to say it’s fake.
*
I followed his instructions and it actually did WORK for me.

The steps are a bit tedious to be honest, of which he did not describe in full in the thread (which is why it can be misleading).

On the issue of the last four digits on the transaction slip - my Apple Watch and iPhone XS provides different last four digits although linked to the same Wise virtual account when used at Family Mart... and as clarified above, it is not fake.

p/s: The green physical card can't be added to Apple Pay/Wallet, only the SG virtual card can be added to Apple Pay/Wallet.

When Apple Pay launched,
it's good for us to reduce cards in our wallet.

BTW, can Apple Pay to be used for shopping mall car park? Like MidValley, The Garden?
If not, we still have to bring our card  hmm.gif
*
Technically you can use Apple Pay for any terminals that accept major credit cards like Visa PayWave and Mastercard Contactless... I've used my Apple Pay at Empire Shopping Gallery so it works biggrin.gif

Just update us if fail to materialize pls. Otherwise, we will be riding on false hopes and dreams.
*edit add
I went to Subang Parade recently and they have a notice @ their car park entrance there they say do not use Smartphone or Smart Watch to pay for their parking as it's not compatible. Hmmmm. Their "terminal" is the usual blue visa coloured one.
*
Hmmm... Not sure bout that then. But I think if there's any issue on the parking fee then it is not easily solved since the full card number is not visible on the phone itself (which perhaps led to the notice). But I have used Apple Pay on my iPhone before for parking at Empire Shopping Gallery (few months back that is).

At the moment I use use it for small value transactions like getting a drink/snack at 7-11, Family Mart smile.gif

This is true, i’ve been using apple pay extensively since last December. Apple pay will work as long as the terminal has the ‘wave’ capability. Only a few merchants refuse to accept apple pay even though their terminals support it.

I know you guys here are anxious about apple pay i can feel it from the way you write and ask questions, some had even PMed me 🤣. But rest assured the launch is imminent.
If it somehow failed to materialize, i would never update you all again in this thread.
*
In this case if I feel their terminals accept Apple Pay, I will tell the cashier "Visa" (since my Apple Pay linked card is a Visa) and then proceed to tap my watch on the reader biggrin.gif

(I guess if their terminals don't support it then the terminal will reject the Apple Pay transaction request that was initiated)

p/s: Yeah I guess most of are us are anxious too... Hahahaha...

Here in JB some merchants would just freak out when I say I’m using PayWave but I pull out my phone as they expect me to use eWallet QR, but in KL every merchant I go to is like, yeah sure. There really is more that needs to be done to educate people about using contactless without physical card.
*
Usually if I want to use my Apple Pay (which is using my Visa card), I just inform the cashier "Visa" and then tap my watch on the reader. Mentioning PayWave or Apple Pay may confuse them further and they would say tak terima hahaha.

But at the moment I use it for mini transactions / small purchases, I saw some postings that if there are transactional disputes or errors, it will be hard to reverse etc?

At 0.15% it is very low indeed. Standard credit card fees that merchants pay for already is at 1% and other ewallets charge a fee of 1% as well. MyDebit is lower at <1% and other forms like AMEX is >1%
*
I remember last time we need to pay surcharge of almost 10% to use TnG to pay for parking when it was starting to be introduced in most shopping malls. RM 2 parking then became RM 2.20 and so on because of the TnG transaction charge and 10% is a bit too much...

Quick update guys, I can say with reasonable certainty that the Apple Pay will be launched in Malaysia in less than two weeks' time.

SG issued wise card after switch back to Malaysia,
if ur spending in MYR, will it deduct ur wise SG account balance? or MYR account balance
*
If you have MYR balance then it will deduct from there.

The way to transfer money/top up (without any conversion, FX fees etc) is to transfer the amount to your denoted Malaysian JPMorgan Chase Bank account number from another Malaysian bank account/source. You can check your Wise app for the account details.

>first video 'Apple Pay Malaysia kena suspended'

Maybe I should continue waiting  whistling.gif

To be honest it's quite a hassle and there is no guarantee that it will work.

Basically you need to pass their SG KYC process with a Malaysian address (if you have a SG address then you apply as you do normally in SG) - in order to get the chance to add the card to Apple Pay with iPhone region set to SG.

Or wait for another week or two tongue.gif

any ideas if any other commonly used apps in Msia supports Apple Wallet (for loyalty cards, boarding pass and tickets etc) too?

- Ikea
- Boost juice (but not working)
- Decathlon
*
I also have added Accor, Hilton Honors and Marriott Bonvoy (hotel loyalty cards/apps).

Curious: Why is payment (?) status --> Pending?

Side question: Does the transaction appears in your credit card bill with the full details (instead of a generic one liner eg Apple Pay Transaction RM 16.25?)

I managed to get my MBB Grab MC on both my phone and watch and managed to use them successfully at KK Mart (watch) and 7-11 (phone).

Both received a notification of success from Maybank via the Wallet app (not from the M2U MY or MAE app).
