Just curious, are there any ways (e.g. petition) to push for those banks who already support AP in other markets (OCBC, UOB, HSBC & Citi) to expedite the roll out in Msia?  rolleyes.gif

This is the reply to my query to OCBC:

CODE

Thank you for your email of 10 August 2022.

We would like to share with you that currently OCBC Bank Malaysia is not supporting Apple Pay services.

U can cancel the card and apply later.
Reason: no Apple Pay

Unfortunately that’s a big hassle to update all the auto-debit and registered payment details. Having to do that recently due to the credit record hack was bad enough. I’d rather switch to a supported card and stick with it.

thats why i said consumer paid the indirect apple tax.
I use apple pay is because it is convenient when use watch to tap and pay, otherwise, wont use it at all.

ApplePay on Apple Watch is the main reason to get it for me. No fumbling with wallet and physical cards and also no need to leak card number info.

It's all about meeting customers' needs.

So what if it's being charged, I would rather use Apple Pay where possible and not some other DC/CC payment system where I have to expose my card details.

In any case, my go-to payment method nowadays is Apple Pay via Wise. So the other banks have lost the transaction commissions they would've gotten if they had Apple Pay support.
