TM To Reduce The Price of UniFi Pro 100Mbps Plan In 2017

https://www.lowyat.net/2016/120664/tm-to-re...s-plan-in-2017/
*

The price in the faq for the 100 is base price without hypptv pack while 30 and 50 are with pack.so mostly just an error in their faq.should be 329 (299+30).

if I subscribe a new plan after promotion period, what will be the price? currently working oversea, and will only come back for good early next year. still need some time to find an apartment for rent some more. used to subscribe for old package 2 years ago before I terminate and going oversea.
*
When you come back next year, go look for an apartment that has Time service. Why still go with Unifi?

Let me put it this way after reading the F@Q

This FREE upgrade is not just for this current running promo,it is open to all EXISTING UniFi customer from day 1 too as long they are

-registered before 31st Dec 2016
-not receiving any FREE upgrade before within this year 2016 (pay the SAME previous price but increase speed)
-is subscribed to VIP 5/10/20 or UniFi 30/50 (whatever the variants)
-your area can support the new upgrade speed
-not under special scheme when buying a new home with UniFi ready
-not a business customer
-no contract refresh is needed
-open to out of contract and within contracted customers
-existing UniFi 50 to UniFi 100 only; may or may not need to change their CPE (BTU and RG) with no charges.
-For VDSL 30Mbps user, you may or may not able to go to 50Mbps speed (50/50 chance)
-no retail price change for 2017 for newcomers.

So they will have a list of eligible customers and these customers will be contacted in stages if interested or not in proceeding with the free upgrade. You will be contacted via email, telephone or SMS.

5 to 10
10 to 30
20,30 to 50
50 to 100
100 - unchanged.

So for a new customer who subscribed after 31 Dec 2016,you will be paying retail price for

RM199 -UniFi 30
RM249 - UniFi 50
RM329 - UniFi 100
*Excluding discount and GST if any.

Currently, not all customers are enjoying the same price under same speed.
There will be the scenario where your new upgrade package is cheaper ,same price or expensive than your previous one.So we don't know how TM will tackle these. Will our current HyppTV Pack and discount will be carry over ?

Most probably the price. Streamyx is using ADSL which is not an easy feat to upgrade unlike VDSL/Fiber
Even VDSL is limited to 30Mb/s so I'm quite curious on how is TM going to upgrade the current UniFi Advance 30Mb/s who is on VDSL instead of FTTH

Then most likely will not have any adventages to 88MYR 4Mbps users, since already great deals.
I think they will be expending their Fiber. Since my place internet use to be cooper only, but now they willing to pull full fiber to each units.

It's true. ADSL is a 1998 technology and it has its limitation with a download speed maximum of 8 Mbps. So long for my 10 Mbps Streamyx hope next year.. sad.gif

Currently I am on VIP10 that has over the contract. (Rm189/month incl GST)
Should I apply for new 30M now and expect free upgrade to 50Mb next year?

Thanks in advance.

If you are landed property, not high rise then yes. Also you are only eligible for it if you did not receive any free upgrade during May to Setp this year

ADSL2 can reach up to 12 mbps while ADSL2+ can reach 24mbps

Dont understand why TM need to limit it to 4/8.
other countries are providing around 16 mbps for cheaps instead of relying on fiber.

Good to hear that tm willing to pull the fiber cable to your house.
What is the process look like if I would like TM to pull the fiber line direct to my house
instead of existing copper wire.

I don't know how TM will pull the cable in, but TIME Fibre will pull fiber cable from door.

I am currently on RM169 for Unifi OKU VIP20 and not receiving any upgrade before. Am I eligible for free upgrade to 50 promotion?

Now that I have a look at Unifi OKU package on TM website but it is RM189 for UniFi ADVANCE OKU Plan 30Mbps. Why it is RM10 higher compared to normal UniFi advance plan 30mpbs? Is this OKU plan eligible for free upgrade to 50mbps too?

Might as well just choose RM179 non-OKU advance plan 30mbps and get free upgrade to 50mbps?
