Guys,

Wanna asked your opinion on this,

I was contacted by TM Marketing team yesterday. He greet me nicely and asked whether my UniFi 30 Mbps package is ok. I replied with simple yes. And later he told me the reason why he called.

Because of my loyalty to TM he would offer an update from previous package 30 Mbps to 50 Mbps with terms:

Renew contract 2 years
- Price of RM 232.15 every month (GST included. Normal price would be RM 264 every month)
- Call charges RM 0.20 per minute
- No box replacement, the router and everything that they give me last year will be remains.
- Early termination will be charged RM 500
- Switching to lower bandwidth will be charged RM 200
......and that pretty much it

Is that a good deal? Last time early adopter fight for free call, and they got it. I do not keen into free call but I want a better router if I can because last time TM was giving me INNATECH RG4332 router which cause headache among my housemate

What's the download speed for 30mbps UniFi package? I mean when you're really downloading something from the internet.

Btw, can the HyppTV device connect to the router/modem wirelessly?

2.8 - 3.1 Mb/s

I think I might have been scammed by TM.

I upgrade to 30Mbps via Phone.

Now the bill came, and they are charging me RM 254.85 instead of RM179 + 6%.

[attachmentid=8109089]

The additional charges is from HyppTV.... Is it possible to stop this recurring charges or am I screwed ?  cry.gif

Also, look at the way TM is charging, everything feels so sketchy..  ohmy.gif

EDIT: Also, isn't the Ruby Package supposed to be in the RM179 package ? I explicity agreed to the RM179 deal over the phone...

It is pro rated bro. See your next bill then you will get what I mean. It'll be 179 as they tell you

subscribe now while it still on OLD Trafford promo till February 2017. As our PM and TM said, the price wouldn't go
cheaper, only double the speed

QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Dec 1 2016, 07:17 AM)
based on excerpt from soyacincau, off course it is quite understandable where high rise user maybe affected for double the speed upgrade, where vdsl is limiting factor, they need to wait until vdsl factoring come to reality first....

so can wait for price reduction, for next 2018...(besides, unifi pro also didnt get speed upgrade, maybe tm will increase their entertainment package?
*
True. VDSL limiting factor. I just installed unifi on high rise building (not truely high rise la, 6 tingkat saja and I stayed at the first floor). Both agent and Contractor were saying the same limiting factor for my unit; the highest speed that we can get is 30 Mbps FOR NOW. Then I asked about the issue in conjunction with the PM announcement and TM declaration of double the speed. They only said that depends on "Orang Atas", if lets say they told them to do, then do it la. At the moment, they can not guarantee anything

Bro....just watched this video.

What I understand from the advert, seems like subscribe and get free upgrade.

Guess I'll be going to TM Office tomorrow to check it out.
*
Free upgrade is for subscription 31 Dec 2016 and before? Although the TM Old Trafford promo until Feb 2017 does that mean After 01 Jan 2017 not eligible for free upgrade

Currently on 30mbps package @ RM179.

I called TM just to ask about a minor issue.

They suddenly said I'm entitled for a promotional upgrade.

RM229

60MBPS + VOICE PLAN+ RUBY PACK

But the catch is, you HAVE to give a YES or NO now. They said their system is like that. Will randomly select people, but must give response immediately.

They said once I hang up, the offer may no longer be valid if I call back next time. But I said I still needed time to think first.

Why their promotion so funny one LOL
*
Next time just mention to them, you are not the only one paying for the package. Got 4 people in the house, so I need more time to discuss with them. Can you call me back tomorrow morning? This one works for me, and I am not bluffing about the other 4 members of my house. But you get it. Right?

This free upgrade is not just for this new promo,it is open to all existing UniFi customer too as long they are

-registered before 31st Dec 2016
-not receiving any free upgrade before within this year (pay the same price but increase speed)
-is subscribed to VIP 5/10/20 or UniFi 30/50 (whatever the variants)
-the area can support the new upgrade speed
-not under special scheme when buying a new home with UniFi ready
-not a business customer
-no contract refresh
-existing UniFi 50 to 100 only may or may not need to change their CPE (BTU and RG) with no charges.
So they will have a list of eligible customers and these customers will be contacted in stages if interested or not in proceeding with the free upgrade. You will be contacted via email, telephone or SMS.

5 to 10
10 to 30
20,30 to 50
50 to 100
100 - unchanged.

so my analysis is correct only decrease in price per Mb not packages for the year 2017.so no major decrease in revenue only lost of opportunity for TM.
*
Thanks for the clarification. I just confused with the upgrade during this year in the FAQ given the link by our friend and now it become clearer

Sorry. I thought there is but didn't know that it has been replaced by Advance 30.  biggrin.gif
Yes, i m talking about full package. Can we opt out the HyppTV?

Also, just called TM-100 to ask further on my case - VIP10. I was told my cable ( the fibre connecting to my house) cannot support 50mbps even if i got the free upgrade. So, i cannot enjoy the free upgrade due to "Technical and service availablity".  doh.gif

So, guys. Do make sure your cable can support up to 50mbps before you decide.  brows.gif

Mind to share what is your cable from TM Box to your house? VDSL or Fiber optic?

Let me put it this way after reading the F@Q

This FREE upgrade is not just for this current running promo,it is open to all EXISTING UniFi customer from day 1 too as long they are

-registered before 31st Dec 2016
-not receiving any FREE upgrade before within this year 2016 (pay the SAME previous price but increase speed)
-is subscribed to VIP 5/10/20 or UniFi 30/50 (whatever the variants)
-your area can support the new upgrade speed
-not under special scheme when buying a new home with UniFi ready
-not a business customer
-no contract refresh is needed
-open to out of contract and within contracted customers
-existing UniFi 50 to UniFi 100 only; may or may not need to change their CPE (BTU and RG) with no charges.
-For VDSL 30Mbps user, you may or may not able to go to 50Mbps speed (50/50 chance)
-no retail price change for 2017 for newcomers.

So they will have a list of eligible customers and these customers will be contacted in stages if interested or not in proceeding with the free upgrade. You will be contacted via email, telephone or SMS.

5 to 10
10 to 30
20,30 to 50
50 to 100
100 - unchanged.

So for a new customer who subscribed after 31 Dec 2016,you will be paying retail price for

RM199 -UniFi 30
RM249 - UniFi 50
RM329 - UniFi 100
*Excluding discount and GST if any.

Currently, not all customers are enjoying the same price under same speed.
There will be the scenario where your new upgrade package is cheaper ,same price or expensive than your previous one.So we don't know how TM will tackle these. Will our current HyppTV Pack and discount will be carry over ?
*
thumbup.gif Should put this on the first page for the mean time or Until there is any other changes.

More value like price wise or speed?
*
QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 8 2016, 09:45 AM)
Most probably the price. Streamyx is using ADSL which is not an easy feat to upgrade unlike VDSL/Fiber
Even VDSL is limited to 30Mb/s so I'm quite curious on how is TM going to upgrade the current UniFi Advance 30Mb/s who is on VDSL instead of FTTH
*
It's true. ADSL is a 1998 technology and it has its limitation with a download speed maximum of 8 Mbps. So long for my 10 Mbps Streamyx hope next year.. sad.gif

I am currently on RM169 for Unifi OKU VIP20 and not receiving any upgrade before. Am I eligible for free upgrade to 50 promotion?

Now that I have a look at Unifi OKU package on TM website but it is RM189 for UniFi ADVANCE OKU Plan 30Mbps. Why it is RM10 higher compared to normal UniFi advance plan 30mpbs? Is this OKU plan eligible for free upgrade to 50mbps too?

Might as well just choose RM179 non-OKU advance plan 30mbps and get free upgrade to 50mbps?
*
I think you are eligible. As long as it is VIP 20. No matter it is OKU or normal package

actually rm229 advance 50Mbps upgraded to 100Mbps Advance Pro next year also is a not bad deal.

only rm50 more but double the speed.
*
Yup.. I am thinking the same. We pay less for more Mb's so technically more value.

QUOTE(Sirmacai @ Dec 10 2016, 04:13 PM)
Standard crap router. The old unifi the orange router better than the latest unifi router.
*
It's long been replace since 100 Mbps was announced. The old TM silver router is not supported for that 100 Mbps speed. TM decided to change for new installation of either 30, 50, and 100 Mbps so that later if customer decided to upgrade via telemarketer, the router already supported. Customer can enjoy a better router with a better coverage. Kinda win-win situation for both.

QUOTE(RE57 @ Dec 11 2016, 08:06 AM)
if go tmpoint to cut the current plan (bringing all the equipments) and re-apply on the spot.. is that count as new-customer? can it be done that way?
*
Yup, possibble to be done but still you have to pay for the penalty. And the new installation will take place when the contractor is available

QUOTE(eugene88 @ Dec 11 2016, 04:45 PM)
After 1 year also can't remove?
*
It's bundle together.

QUOTE(timothytan7 @ Dec 11 2016, 08:06 PM)
Just upgraded from VIP 10 to Adv 30 for RM 179. Take min 7 working days to process. Is it normal? Upgraded via phone

Yes it's normal. Mine upgraded via phone too

Is that necessary to buy expensive router compared to the come with TM for Unifi 30mbps?
*
Not necessary as TM already give Tp link or D link router for the new batch subscriber (no longer silver box innacom router). But if you insist, there are a few asus model that our friends has been use to replace the current router.
