yup... i think they will probably drag on for another few weeks before deciding. after all, this ban only affects a small percentage but it will give peace of mind to many other passengers.

right now... my colleagues look at me one kind when i hold my note7... they are half joking... but when you're on a plane, this is no longer a joke.

higher altitude... pressure change... it does affect things. <-- having said that, i'm aware this morning's case... the plane was still in the airport. smile.gif

people do look weirdly when holding Note 7. the stigma attached because of previous explosion case still in the mind sad.gif

Phones and powerbanks are often not allowed to be in check in luggage . You will normally be asked to handcarry in. It is strange if one is asked to put it inside checkin baggage.

Ya. I think they could have planned to lift the ban very soon. But after the morning news, plan changed. Especially FAA. They just lifted the ban not long ago. Not sure if this will trigger their banning order once again. doh.gif

let's see what Samsung has to say about it..

it's new replacement. no hanky panky because the person in flight. legit case happen infront of people.

Impossible.

I am just flying by few airlines without any problem. They do announce not allow to use & charges Samsung Note 7 which purchased before 15th September, 2016. They even never check the phone.

Asked to put in luggage ? is it his hand carry luggage? LOL

no idea waiting my cousin reply

reason i'm asking if it covers all is coz if it doesn't cover the sensor, then you should be facing some other issues and unlikely the glass SP is the cause...

update 1:
re-read your post... ya, it could be the edges are of the TG is detected by the iris scanner and so you get that error. i guess you could try using bit of glue/ tape to tape the glass to screen... smile.gif
*
There seems to be one that is fitting best and it's TG.

i called someone in Samsung to ask..

was advised to bring my phone back to SC. i told the fella difficult coz i'm using as daily driver. so i just shared my screenshot and yours.

however, i made the mistake of turning off my wifi. so very likely my stats would have been reset.

but i think on any new unit, it should be the same. could just be a software bug.

i'll share when i get a reply...

ya, figured could be just that... though if it's hand luggage... then no need to force person to put in inside la... after all, can just as easily take it out... no? smile.gif

either way... weird. if really wanna prevent, then just get cabin crew to hold on to it... hahaha...

It can't be OK now. Not every unit is change and still got news about replacement one got issue.

Safety shall be first priority in flight. Need sometimes just can withdraw this prohibition.

I just talk to Samsung CS this afternoon regarding the case on replaced Note 7 and asking any possibility to refund.

1. He asked is my Note 7 having any problem.

2. I said No but I am a frequent flyers so scare those carriers will banned it when I am aboard.

3. He said understandable and may can try to require

4. But if you buy from Maxis, Digi etc then need refer back to the dealers

I thought everything should be fine after replacement, it seems that flight ban is still in place. And another Note 7 case in US smoking on a flight.

My recent trip to China state that powerbank needs to be hand carried. So my guess is lithium battery cannot be checked in.

i suspect so. i cannot confirm since wifi no longer one of my top battery draining apps... so i dunno how to get that stats again... smile.gif

i saw it 2 days back only coz i have not set up the phone properly yet. so, it was still on wifi and not many things inside.

but... i did a factory reset before that... so, honestly, not too sure.

wait and see what happens.
