Personally I had confidence Samsung will make sure the new Note 7 will not have those exploding batteries anymore. They would not like to see a repeat of the same problem
There are just too much pessimism here about the revised edition of the Note 7
If one had no confidence just sell it off
Even though I had sold my black Note 7 to my close friend ( at a very good offer price) I would like to repurchase one back again.
The Note 7 in my assessment is still the best Android I had used this year vs S7e, HTC10, LG V10, Nexus 6P, One PLus 3, Mate 8, MiMax, Axon 7 etc etc

If you don't mind a bigger display of 6.4 inches, the MiMax is a good alternative. Best is darn cheap - RM900+ for 32GB, RM1000+ for 64GB and only RM1.2+K for 128GB
Its big battery of 4850 mAh , I could easily get 11-12 hours SOT
Only major weakness is its above average camera only
However most probably you would need to reflash firmware to global version as most sets purchased here come with vendor custom rom with lots of bloatware and ad popping stuffs from the installed Apus launcher

+1. I am perfectly comfortable with 1080p display. 2k I would consider a slight bonus only

I had yet to read anyone complaining about overheating batteries. There are some minor complains here and there - the negatives are minimal and not experienced by most users. I find several users just like to nitpick even on minor issues

So many variations of exchange requirements
Just bring the whole box and the accessories n if one so desired negotiate to keep the accessories
My ex unit from Courts I read here at least 5 different versions of exchange !!

Courts informed me that I could exchange the phone at any Samsung service center. He said is so because they failed to contact me through phone few days back and arrangements to specific Courts branch already made. I will need to bring the whole box and purchase receipt. As for the accessories I need to ask the service center. I had sold my phone to my Malacca friend and he had already made an exchange report at Malacca Samsung Service center in the early days of this problem. I hope he will have a smooth exchange. Exchange start on 30 Sept onwards.
He doesn't mind if the accessories are taken back and a new set is given

MY Courts unit which I sold to my Malacca friend, he went to Samsung Service Center and they turned him down . COURTS had infact called me again 2 days back to remind me of the exchange and confirmed I could change it at ANY Samsung service center
My friend than called Courts Malacca and was told to go back to the center where it is purchased?? Don't these Court guy know all the purchase was done online? Anyway my friend was told they couldn't do it as they do not have any record of purchase done at their place !! And even if they were to do it, they needed the original purchaser to come for the exchange
So my friend is going to courier the set to me and I will help him to get it change at my place. Hope my place doesn't tell me same story and asked me to go back to source of purchase
I had called Courts and the lady promised she will call me back and I am still waiting for her call back since this morning

I have plenty of confidence with the Note 7 and will definitely buy back a unit for my own use

I sold without any loss and that time my friend was desperate to get one. At same time I had other phones with me. He paid me the same price I paid and I get to keep all the freebies. But I gave him the wireless charger as I already had one
This is not the first time I repurchase back a phone I had bought before
Personally for me, the Note 7 till now is still the best Android phone I had ever used
Currently I am having the MiMax ( daily driver), Axon 7 , Zenfone 3 Ultra as my other Androids

Very cheap only under rm3
Worth very sen and is just a simple tick n untick to disable and enable back any app chosen
Use it intelligently and try avoid easy way out by mass disabling all recommended bloatware

Works well on NON Rooted phones

CGI ?? Nowadays with graphics technology anything can be made to look realistic!

Guys if you are too worried just don't use the phone and sell it off

Android 6.0 has doze effect built in. It is totally unnecessary to even use Greenify as the app will interfere with doze. On my ex Note7 n current phones using Android 6.01 my battery drain overnight for all is around 2-3% overnight 7-8 hours. This is with wifi on , sync on, and mobile data ,Bluetooth and GPS off
I don't install any other battery saving app, memory managers, app booster etc as these are unnecessary with Android 6.0 and above
I don't even use Samsung built in app to manage caches, battery etc.

Yes no AOD. Samsung had said this feature will drain at 0.8% per hour

Phones and powerbanks are often not allowed to be in check in luggage . You will normally be asked to handcarry in. It is strange if one is asked to put it inside checkin baggage.
