Also depends if this will be your main car or not. In our case, this is our 2nd car. Didn't need to have a soft turbo since we already have a D segment turbo which is the main car for outstation trips. Hence, didn't see the need to spend an extra 22K to get the 1.5TCP. Our initial choice was either the Honda City or the Mazda 2 so the Civic 1.8S was an upgrade. Plus, wife will only keep the car for 3-4 yrs before upgrading again. The 1.8S will hold slightly better value % compared to the 1.5TCP.

Buy already stop justifying so hard plz that you got other 'turbo' car or wife will keep 3-4 years only then sell lar please..no one asked for those info. Yahlar sell after 3 years get facelift one. Smart move for someone concern about money extra 22k with slightly better value

It serves diff type of ppl, so there is no wrong or right here.. Just buy whatever variant we wan and enjoy it..

My post was in response to an earlier comment. Kindly do not try and tell me what to share or not to share on LYN. This is a forum and everybody is entitled to their views. If u have nothing to contribute to this discussion, then kindly stay out of it. If u cannot practice maturity in your comments then feel free to join another thread. Childish rants and tantrums are not welcome here.

Btw, don't blindly assume that upgrading only means buying a facelift of the same model. Try and enhance your limited knowledge. If English is a problem, then use Google translate before commenting.

Have a nice day!

Yes, the 1.8S is the best choice over the City and Mazda 2 smile.gif.  Honda has variants to allow consumers with different needs to choose what they like.  For me the 1.8S did not excite me even as a 2nd car for the wife, while I found the 1.5 TCP interesting enough to buy although I already have something exciting as a daily driver.  I am more of an emotional buyer and you a logical buyer.  Honda got both of us covered!

Well said! thumbup.gif

After 1 week of driving 1.8S, i feel weird why my fuel consumption is around 6km/l... It is not even half of what you guys did, i admit i'm heavy footed since the beginning of few days, but I did drive slow for the remaining few days. And I cant stand the aircond in every morning, it is too cold even set at lowest, I'm shivering until i reached my office everyday. When I press auto for aircond, it is forever max no matter cold or hot day, seems like sensor broken. sad.gif

First few tankful will have bad FC. All cars are the same as the engine is still breaking in - piston ring still sealing etc. Wait until about 800-1k km for better fuel consumption.

Anybody can guide me on using the brake hold? Im in the heavy jam every morning. And do you guys turn off the vehicle stability control to save more fuel? My SA told me people turn it off to save fuel because it will actually act as some resistance for our car to move.
*
heavy jam shouldn't use the brake hold, otherwise will experience jerking if you are trying to move when the car trying to hold

Your SA is an idiot. Don't turn off VSA just because you wanna save a few cents. Only turn it off when stuck in the mud or when you're using the space saver spare tyre. 6km/l considered ok if you're driving fast and always stuck in the jam, but don't use the computer gauge to calculate this. Just use the tried and tested fill-measure-fill method.

Brake hold, try and test it yourself, maybe in an empty car park?

question for TCP owners....

got friend thinking of choosing between TCP and TC...

reason is because there's no physical fan speed knob for the TCP. but he likes the LED headlights.

want to know from current owners if it is annoying to go into the menu to adjust your fan speed? or you just "Auto" all the way?

Auto all the way smile.gif Fan too loud? Adjust temperature upwards. Too hot? Adjust temperature downwards. I never even once selected the fan speed in my 3 months owning the car tongue.gif

The purpose of the brake hold is especially for traffic jams and traffic light stops so that u don't need to engage your hand brake and it acts like a safety feature in case u accidently take your foot off the brake. If ure switching it off then might as well not use it. Jerking is because u haven't gotten used to driving a car with auto brake hold. Ure not supposed to be inching forward. That's a bad driving habit.

Yes your SA is an ill informed idiot. There is no fuel saving crap associated with switching off the VSA. Plus it DOES not act as a resistance to move. Google and read up on what is a VSA system and how it functions. There are many articles online as to how the system works. We need to always educate ourselves. Be an informed consumer. Don't blindly believe crap that ppl tell you.

Owh, it a noticeable defect. I thought you had inspect it before register the car?

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 24 2016, 05:40 PM)
They would probably just buat bodoh and hope you didn't notice when taking the car.. maybe you can bring this up to Honda Malaysia perhaps. This is clearly lousy workmanship.
*
QUOTE(kluseng @ Sep 24 2016, 07:40 PM)
That's nonsense. You are not claiming for scratches or dents which is arguable. This is a defect in paintwork which is obviously there when you took the car. You should go ahead and lodge a complaint. They will have to respray the panel for you.
*
QUOTE(isr25 @ Sep 25 2016, 10:56 AM)
For both of these cases, just bring back to your dealership. If your SA refuse to entertain your claim, talk to the service / sales manager. These are definitely manufacturing defects and not wear & tear issues and should be rectified by Honda.
The correct procedure is actually inspect the car before registering, but almost all dealership register first, and only inspect during car handover.
*
Today go Sc complaint about door paint defect, SC people help me take picture and send to HM to make claim but they cant guarantee can success.
HHmm, at least they try to claim for me, better than my SA direct say NO..

I manage to get 11.9km/L so far. Perhaps after the 1000km checkup should be able the differents as Bro isr25 said.
Regarding about the leather seat, I did ask my SA at Glenmarie branch they charge about 3k with custom stitching.
From the looks of if from you guys, is expensive.

The fuel consumption you are showing is for 1.8 or 1.5TC ?
