good info for all...
QUOTE The science behind exploding phone batteries http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/8/12841342/...g-galaxy-note-7 That’s what went wrong with the Galaxy Note 7: the separators were flawed and let the two electrodes touch. “This is considered the worst possible failure because it will most certainly lead to fire and possibly even an explosion,” says Archer. When the electrodes come into contact, all the energy being pumped into the battery goes directly to the electrolytes in the middle instead of in the electrodes on the side. basically, charge or dun charge phone, the risk of catching fire is there... further in the article, it does explain why fast charging can also add more risk to it. |

QUOTE(eagleknight @ Sep 9 2016, 07:37 AM) Why not? I am using it 24 x 7, and is beside my pillow when sleeping ...all the times hold by hand. i'm beginning to think this % is based on reported incidents vs units sold. if so, more cases being reported means % will go higher...Are you so lucky to be the 0.0001%? Then should go and buy 4D,haha. |

QUOTE(chuanchuan @ Sep 8 2016, 09:34 PM) phone drop from 30cm on road, iinm, read somewhere that phone must be in "working" condition when returned. you guess what, the screen crack hope this wont affect the replacement if screen crack, you need to pay for repairs first. then only can swap. read that like a few pages back. |

QUOTE(jacky91 @ Sep 8 2016, 07:05 PM) Sorry bro. I overreacted. Just feel irritating seeing all these bad news and getting mocked by friends while I am 1 of the owners. personally, mocked or not... i dun care. those are just words. i've played with the note7 and i'm generally super happy with the phone -- ok, ok, got some minor "issues" with the new UI but that's another thing.in the end, your own money... your own enjoyment. if you dun like the phone, you're getting a good chance to sell it when Samsung replaces it with a brand new unopened set. for me... i love the phone and i can't wait for the exchange to happen. i think it's an awesome phone. and it will still be after i get the new set (with safer batteries). and if you can get so easily upset by words... you need to really do sth abt it. |

FAA warns not to check your Galaxy Note 7 or fly with it on
https://techcrunch.com/2016/09/08/faa-warns...fly-with-it-on/ QUOTE The administration ruined Samsung’s afternoon with just 42 words: In light of recent incidents and concerns raised by Samsung about its Galaxy Note 7 devices, the Federal Aviation Administration strongly advises passengers not to turn on or charge these devices on board aircraft and not to stow them in any checked baggage. |

i realized that the most reliable news in regards to explosion is recently the aussie explosion on the hotel, but it was neglected as he overcharge it overnight. my 2 cents observation, so far malaysia no cases as of yet, as most of us are aware on how to minimize the risk such as charging it with attention, disable fast charging and all.
how concrete is the jeep explosion and the garage news explosion? i mean like come on, how come he left the phone charge at the garage unattended without people at home. sounds fishy. |

Overcharging is a negligible issue as there are failsafes in the phone to prevent it. how concrete is the jeep explosion and the garage news explosion? i mean like come on, how come he left the phone charge at the garage unattended without people at home. sounds fishy. Charging a phone does not mean someone has to watch it while it does it thing. Nothing fishy about it. |

QUOTE(eagleknight @ Sep 9 2016, 09:24 AM) i think all units, except China, Macau and Hong Kong, is affected. just a matter of "luck". as i shared just earlier, there's already identified cause -- battery. and iinm, DO NOT require battery to be charging for the fire to start... If one is too worried about the Note 7 exploding, just switched it off and don't use it. Wait for replacement to come in
My friend who bought over my unit isn't worried about it all. It is his daily work phone and he used it heavily daily. He had been a diehard Note user since the first Note. He is in the media-advert business. He simply cannot live without the SPen ! He had a spare ip6 as a spare phone if needed. He had nothing but only praises for the Note 7 which he said is a vast improvement over his ex Note 5. He has yet to experienced any sudden reboot, freeze/hung issues as reported by some users here |
