I flew long haul from Singapore to Europe yesterday on SQ and they announced on board not to charge or turn on the Note 7. If anyone wants to charge, they won't know.

that's the thing..unless airline staff is trained to spot a note 7, not likely they will know even if you curi-curi..but for the sake of the safety of everyone on board, i wouldnt take the risk even though its minimal..lives are at stake here

Why am I not surprised?

Nonetheless, there will be some people who will continue to use it under the assumption that it's waterproof

At the moment, regional airlines haven't banned the phone yet. They only sent out advisory notice, stating N7 users to power down the item and not placed it in check-in items

I tried using different sim (not malaysia) and the network was locked, how do i unlock it so i could get sim free version, any sim with any telco

Few day no come, so many pages of stuff again .... now those airline announcements really get to me now .. few years back, EVERONE IS SUPPOSED TO TURN OFF THEIR DAMN PHONES IN THE PLANE ... Since those days I've been cursing ppl who make calls in the plane, last minute sms's and sh!t like that ... I mean BRO, you're traveling on the plane, have a rest, watch some movie or something, unless you're managing multi million business or anything like that, TURN OFF YOUR DAMN PHONES ... last time 3310 also i turn off my phone ... don't say Note7

Of course then technology slowly getting hebat, then they announce switch to night mode ok liao .... then slowly during take off and landing only flight mode, when stable time can use, and now even some planes got wifi liao ... but back to basics, you're supposed to OFF your phones ! I still don't understand why people have their phones ON in the frigin plane ...

All these announcement make it sound like Note7 is some kind of bomb (oh wait it is...ok fine) I mean they shouldn't just target Note7, EVERYONE should be turning off their phones. .. that's my point

All these news is really disappointing ... I mean I'm not really a "fanboy" but I just don't trust other brand .... and definitely not using iPhones ... If this Note7 nonsense getting more and more serious and getting banned here and there, I really dunno what other phone to buy .. Pray hard the replacements are tip top condition .... anything happens again then really bye bye to Samsung

Got a call from Digi telling me they will send my replacement via ground delivery just like previously. Need to hand over my current phone to the delivery man. You guys think they will check all item are available before swapping them ka? hehehehe

I won't recommend Chinese branded phones like Huawei and Xiaomi due to their UI too resemblance of iPhone which you said you dont like

MY set has region lock. For region free, you got to use MY sim to call for accumulation of total 5 min. Then you could use the other country's sim. Also make sure the correct band is supported by the phone.

Last time is last time, now is now. If now can turn on phone on airplane, why not? Its good for everyone

considering to let go of my note7 once the replacement is available on 29th september, at sunway pyramid, with tech21 evo wallet case at rm169, 1pc of original sp at rm20, extra travel adapter, wireless charger, if one is really interested to get the note7 but fail, please feel free to pm, i'm only open for those who really appreciate note7 but not lowballers.

just wanna say.. told you guys it's not only about charging.. phone can just catch fire regardless of whether it's charging or not.

also, Samsung may disable the phone after a certain time it's not returned/ exchanged..
