Hlb 5.18% 3 month, saving 10k + minimum 10k for fd.
*
QUOTE(ryancars88 @ Aug 26 2016, 07:02 PM)
It is a totally different thing. The product is savings plan 10k per annum for continuous 5 or 6 years then only can get 5.18% for your 10k FD
*
Oooh so it's a savings plan not savings account rclxub.gif
Thanks for heads up notworthy.gif

Hlb keeps calling me for this kind of savings plan, but I don't trust them, never bothered to take up their offer to meet and talk.

I don't know why they can't send over all the facts by email.

This product is similar like HLA previous savings plan named as Cash Builder, Income Builder, Income Provider. It is long term savings plan from 5 to 10 years.

There's nothing not to trust. Just read through t&c on how to get the promo rate. Need to use fpx to transfer.

sound like complicated.

average rate seems to be only 2.59% at 3rd month of placement.

Bank Rakyat not protected by PIDM and now negative publicity

Is that why they offer such high interest rates?

Would they have problems with the current bad publicity?
*
PIDM just give us mental comfort
Ignore the noise when make decision
Btw, their 12 mths FD is not attractive presently

Even with pidm, it actually won't "cover" because the fund they have is really insufficient to cover all banks account...

Yes, do spread the risk by spreading in few accounts & placements..
If possible, in multi type asset class too blush.gif

Juz placed my 1st fd in hlb..3.95% only...now not a good time to place fd..looking for 2nd bank currently..btw, hlb staff recommended some sort of insurance and savings with interest 5-8%...beneficial eh?
*
Saw this when in HL bank, 5-8% only for 3 months ...later it will be resumed back to the normal FD rate, beside this understand that you need to participate in their so called "Saving Plan"...... i asked the staff that i already got a saving account, do i need to open another one? he replied that yes, this is different thing...
so i guess by calculating the effective interest rate, i doubt it will be better than 3.95% conventional FD....

Seems, now banks require more liquidity ..... am i right.... question anyone think the SRR will be reduced this year? ..... my guest is likely ....
