Hello, I have just signed up for a 10K race and this is my first race ever, so I think I need a pair of race shoes that doesn’t cost much. I have been running for quite some times already. My budget is around RM500. Any recommendations to it? Thanks!

Does anyone have breathing difficulty when running after recovering from covid?
*
Breathing difficulty when running, no.

But i noticed my normal high heart rate is now lower. Pushing heart rate to 195 used to be easy, i could reach 219 heart rate before covid. Now, the highest i managed to reach is 185 only

How old are you? Pushing your heart too far can be harmful.

Mid 30's

Nah, i rarely run hard. That 185 number i get from sprinting hard in a final km of my easy run

well, took me years but, i finally found out we have our very own LYN running gang here, yay me! laugh.gif

Did anyone go for the KL Towerthon last Sunday? They changed it up quite a bit compared to the previous years, starting point was right at the Tower itself this round rclxm9.gif

How's the crowd control at the top of tower after the race? Joined the event many years back. took more than 30min to wait for the lift together with tons of sweaty participants, not a pleasant experience rclxub.gif

Guys I missed my deferral from 2020 SCKLM I think the deadline was back in June. Is there any hope to still join this year's SCKLM? I've already mailed helpdesk with the request just wondering if any of you guys managed to register past the deadline and how. Thanks!

iinm this year's SCKLM already tutup quite some time back.

yesterday's L'Occitane run, really nice weather if you don't mind the slight rain - very cooling morning run, the terrain a little hazardous due to the rain tho, saw people slip/fell on more than one occasion (speedy recovery!) smile.gif

Guys wanna ask you all ah, when you all started running, do you experience any knee pains?

Right now I’m starting to run/sprint on treadmill. Initially my knee hurts/sore after exercises but these days the pain/discomfort no longer last until the next day. I take it that my legs are getting used to the impact as well.

Right now I’m kinda addicted to running, slow jog or whatever. But I’m afraid of doing it everyday (30 minutes is all I can squeeze in) cause I don’t want to have long term effects on my knees. I mean exercising is supposed to make me strong but I don’t wanna hurt my knees.

So do you all run everyday? Will your knees just get strong and stronger?

Only run on weekends, and yes - at the very beginning of the running journey - it's quite common for the legs to get a little sore, dormant muscles being activated afterall laugh.gif
Your body will adapt as you progress, my 2 cents is to have sufficient rest in between runs icon_rolleyes.gif

I’m actually quite active in other exercises, so my muscles are not that sore. But knees yes cause I’m afraid of the impact from running. Recently I tried a bit of running on treadmill and it’s amazing. Now that I’m addicted I’m just afraid of hurting my knees. lol.

Treadmill absorbs your landing slightly better if compared to pure road running

If purely road running definitely advise for rest days in between

For treadmill training maybe some days u can set on a very steep incline and walk instead

Good advice. Yeap that’s all I’m gonna do, run on treadmill.
Are there any supplements that you all take for your knees?
