I’m actually quite active in other exercises, so my muscles are not that sore. But knees yes cause I’m afraid of the impact from running. Recently I tried a bit of running on treadmill and it’s amazing. Now that I’m addicted I’m just afraid of hurting my knees. lol.
*
Treadmill absorbs your landing slightly better if compared to pure road running

If purely road running definitely advise for rest days in between

For treadmill training maybe some days u can set on a very steep incline and walk instead

Is ASICS the best running shoes? Right now I’m just using my Nike running shoes, it’s a cheap one, at that point of purchase cost me about RM180 only together with all the Lazada discounts. I’m considering if I should get myself a better running shoes as a long term investment?? I’m just worried about knee injury or whatnot.

The best is different for everyone

Have to try and find out the best shoes for your feet

What do you all do when your shoes wear out? My current Nike shoes still look pristine but the midsole has a long wrinkles, which according to the Internet that it’s time to change already cause the cushioning is no longer good.

Once outsole worn out aka no more rubber grip or looks bad then I will change

Guys. I keep getting shin splints whenever I train for a run. Always try to progress slowly but still wind up triggering the shin splints, then having to abandon all running training plans for months. Tried the couch to 5k plan but started feeling the shin splints third week in. It’s quite i frustrating. I recently bought new shoes (decathlon jogflow, best my budget could afford).

I have a 5k 2 weeks from now and again feel mild shin splints occurring. Is it advisable to mainly do walks for the remaining time then run on race day? I notice the less I train for runs, the less injury I get, but of course my muscles would be to stiff to perform well on race day.

Does anyone know of any good training plan to  build up however slow but mainly avoid shin splints and other injuries? My goal is to master 5Ks, get to podium worthy 5k times.

If its not the issue of over training or increasing mileage too quickly maybe try different running surface?

Maybe try softer surface like inside stadium on the track

Or invest into better running specific shoes

Just finished my first half marathon yesterday was able to maintain a steady pace till that last 6km bukit tunku route wrecked me real hard. Legs just gave up. No choice but to walk all the way till the finish line but still managed to finish before the cutoff time. Feel kinda disappointed with myself as I have been training really hard during these past 3 months not the result I was expecting for sad.gif

Maybe u went out too hot?

Its common to be excited n hyped out and when the race starts u went at a pace too fast to maintain

End up burnt up
