QUOTE(kengyan @ Jul 27 2016, 11:26 PM) I guess it all started I never put the word "if", my bad on this. Anyway, what I want to point is, is there any source on sure transaction +1 to get posted? Even the card center's officers cannot tell and confirm on this. It was stated as "in general" which can also be loosely translated as "rule of thumb", ie. a broadly accurate guide or principle, based on experience or practice rather than theory. Over here, we share experience and tips. QUOTE(rachel_xxx @ Jul 27 2016, 11:27 PM) after cancel the card, how long need to wait to re-apply as new customer (to get waiver of 1st year annual fee)? thanks. I am more interested to know whether will they still approve your application first, do share your outcome. It would really be unWISE of them to allow it This post has been edited by Human Nature: Jul 27 2016, 11:35 PM

Well, usually 6 months but they have the rights to reject your request. You wanna cancel yours? Have you stopped using it? Else you may not be able to get back your cash back as the card is cancelled?

QUOTE(rachel_xxx @ Jul 27 2016, 11:41 PM) yea plan to cancel and re-apply, or everyone happily paying for the annual fee for this card ? Yes, most of us happily paying for it since we maximize RM 100 every month. I have been maximizing for RM 100 with RM 985 instead of RM 1k. So technically, one year, I will save RM 15x12 = RM 180 more than enough to pay for the AF+GST.

QUOTE(rachel_xxx @ Jul 27 2016, 11:41 PM) yea plan to cancel and re-apply, or everyone happily paying for the annual fee for this card ? Depends on your spending pattern. I always max out every month, so annual fee is very worth it. It is one of my highest yielding cards even after deducting annual fee, the first being Public Bank VS (after taking into account promo cashback). However, if you're underutilising the card, depending on your chosen categories, you can adopt a different strategy. For example, if you chose groceries and utilities, you could buy vouchers and overpay utility bills in the last few months, then cancel and use the overpayments during the cooling off period.

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jul 27 2016, 11:40 PM) Nope, it is still misleading. Experience does not means anything. Try to bring this up to court and see what the judge says. Like you in general will just reverse your car from your house car porch without checking on traffic since you assume nobody will use that road, then in 1 fine day a lorry pass by and you do the same. At the end you have to stay in hospital due to serious injury. You sue that driver in court and using this excuse. What will be the end result? Eh, sounds like an old friend return di. Still wanna troll the same topic... Just jumping on the +1 day. Already Human Nature and the rest have said 'better don't spend' to be safe.

anyone here changed their cb category before?
i change my category on 28th april from Grocery to Travel and HLB charge me travel maintanence fee on 30th april statad EFF June and i double confirm with CSO that my travel category will start effective in June only.
but i found out that my May transaction for Grocery under Sam Groceria is not entitle for CB. So i called HLB 4 times. First 3 time CSO couldnt give me an answer right away and promise to call back within 3 working days but all failed. the 4th one answer my question directly and said May i only entitle for Petrol and Mobile category where 1 of my category will be inactive until June only.
is this true? anyone of you encounter this situation before? shall i email HLB? or call again? thanks!

When i read this, i feel funny.. u use RM985 to get 100 rebate and the offset RM15 consider saving?? it just make ur cash back become 10.438413361169% per month instead of 10%.. effectively 8.717428087986% rebate (after annual fee) instead of 8.58666666% if you use RM1000 a month.. I dont see where u save the RM180 by doing the RM985 method.. lol

I dont see where u save the RM180 by doing the RM985 method.. lol Why not a saving? Or maybe my calculation sucks. It is pretty straightforward for me. Instead of spending RM 1000 per month to get RM 100, I only need to spend RM 985 and I get the same RM 100. So every month I save RM 15 (from my pocket) and one year, I save RM 180. No? OK, I get you but to me the additional cash back's effectiveness is a saving for me because I don't need to spend additional RM 15 every month for the same cash back I will be getting. Instead of spending RM 12000 per year to get RM 1200 cash back. I spend RM 11820 from my pocket per year to get RM 1200 cash back. That's already a difference of RM 180 there. I was saying a saving from my pocket, just as simple as that lo. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jul 28 2016, 11:49 AM

Sorry sis, for this I have to say No. U just got a better rate of CB. Normally rm985 spends will give rm98.50 CB, but becos of your effort u get rm100 CB, an Untung of rm1.50.

By spending less (rm11820) to get d same CB, u also get less stuffs worth rm180 ie u still need to use rm180 to buy this stuffs.

For example in the case of TNB bill no matter what you still will have to pay (maybe use another card which gives some smaller cashback). But if its unnecessary stuff then its different.
