QUOTE(tonytyk @ Sep 12 2016, 06:44 AM) QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 12 2016, 08:43 AM) Haha, I remember those good old days! You are very brave to overpay so much For HLB Wise, I'm going to overpay one more month (October) under the new system, receive my cashback in Nov, and then cancel before Dec annual fee. Will transfer my Wise spending to HLB Fortune since its 1% for everything except govt. Easier to monitor, but lower return. checked my spending pattern, 1.3k in categories, 700 in other like insurance.
will move my insurance auto debit to WISE to get RM100 per card... still the highest rebate in RM so far... it is more manageable than apply 2 new cards and monitor 2 cards to get RM50 each card... at the end also get same RM100... This post has been edited by propusers: Sep 13 2016, 10:06 AM |

in other words, now the wise card in order to gain RM100 or the 10% cash back we have to 1. spend at least RM1k to the Chosen WISE Categories AND 2. Total Spend for the Month (RM) must at least RM2k or RM2k on Chosen WISE Categories |

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Sep 13 2016, 01:34 PM) Most of the WISE categories can get cashback from other cards too.So more 'worth' for the extra RM1k to be spent on those that normally cannot earn cashback (insurance is the big one, things like pharmacy, gym membership etc also). This is, of course, assuming that you have RM1k of those sort of expenses. The comparison is between spending RM2k within the categories (get 5%) and then that extra RM1k maybe get 0.2% or something.... or between spending RM1k within and the extra RM1k to get 5% and then the remaining RM1k which is within categories can cover with Ikhwan or Public Bank Visa Signature or similar to get 5+% also. |

By percentage, PBB VS 6% more attractive. By amount, WISE RM100 more attractive. Depends on individual spending pattern, change the swipe strategy so we can earn highest rebate from banks. if withdraw WISE, we can combine PBB VS + another 1 card (UOB ONE / CIMB Rebate / Maybank Ikhwan) to achieve RM100 rebate. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 13 2016, 01:42 PM) I was thinking the same too. is less than 5% Regardless, you are still getting 5% cash back for Wise categories, whether to spend full RM 2k on them or just RM 1k + RM 1k (other expenses). per year spend 24,000 monthly rebate 1,200 AF 169.60 rebate % 4.96 (max rebate) |

just got the sms too.
i guess too many people have been getting alot of cash back already they have to revise or not lose money. i'd say the minimum 2k expenditure is too much and not flexible at all, for me at least. maybe other users with higher usage will be happier. hlb mach still ok for the 5% (dining) cash back i guess. but seems to me that there are more categories to be used now (ie - travel, utilities and bookstores) categories 1 Pharmacies Guardian, Watsons, Caring and Eu Yan Sang outlets 2 Groceries All grocery stores eg: Giant, Tesco, AEON Big (MCC 5411) 3 Petrol Automated fuel dispensers at all petrol stations (MCC 5542) 4 Dining All dining outlets (MCC 5811, 5812, 5814) 5 Departmental Stores Parkson, AEON, Isetan, Metrojaya, Robinsons, Tangs, GAMA and Sogo outlets 6 Book Stores MPH, Popular, Borders, Kinokuniya, Times, Smart and BookXcess stores 7 Utilities Electricity and Water (MCC 4900) 8 Entertainment All cinemas (MCC 7832), Ticket Charge, Ticketpro, Red Box and Neway 9 Travel All airlines (MCC 3000-3299, 4511), hotels (MCC 3501-3999, 7011), tour packages (MCC 4722, 4723) |
